Game of Khans is an awesome strategy RPG where you get to play as the Khan of your tribe and progressively build your legend as you conquer all of Asia and Europe and unite the land under a single banner. However, along the way, you’ll encounter friends and foes alike, willing to put their lives on the line for you, or lose it by standing against you.
Will you be a peaceful ruler, uniting the lands in harmony, or a ruthless conqueror interested only in expanding their influence? The choice is yours in Game of Khans. However, before you get to that point, you’ll need to go through the arduous process of building your tribe from scratch, securing the production of resources, and rallying Advisors to your cause. Moreover, while this game can seem a bit confusing at first, it’s actually much easier than it seems, which is why we decided to share a few Game of Khans tips, tricks, and strategies to help you get started on the right track.
Play on BlueStacks to Optimize and Automate Your Gameplay
Despite being pretty confusing for newcomers, Game of Khans is actually quite easy to get into once you get the hang of it. However, this doesn’t mean that the game doesn’t have its fair share of repetition, which is something compounded by the fact that its gameplay takes place mostly through menus. This is why the best way to enjoy this game is by playing Game of Khans on PC with BlueStacks, as not only will this give you the best graphics and performance, but also access to a bunch of features that can help streamline and automate some of the most tedious aspects.
For instance, the Keymapping Tool will let you create customized control schemes so you can navigate through the game using mouse and keyboard shortcuts. On the other hand, the Macro Recorder lets you automate some of the most repetitive tasks like collecting your resources, and it even works while your emulator is minimized to the background. This feature essentially lets you continue grinding, even while you’re not actively paying attention to the game.

Claim Your Resources as Soon as They’re Capped
This might not come as a surprise to most mobile gamers out there, but Game of Khans offers a few idle grinding features through which players can continue farming resources even while offline. In this case, however, your auto-farming feature initially caps out at 3 hours and 30 minutes, after which your empire stops producing until you claim your resources and empty your coffers.
It goes without saying that you should never let your production cap out, and you should always try to claim your resources before the 3-and-a-half-hour mark, in order to ensure that your empire is always producing. This is exactly where BlueStacks can help you as our Android app player has tools for easily automating this process, with only a single click.
The Main Missions Are Your Best Guides
Game of Khans is one of those titles that doesn’t really do a good job of explaining the main gameplay loop through the tutorial. In fact, while you’re introduced to most of the important mechanics and elements in the game initially, you’ll probably be at a loss as to “why” you’ll be doing all of this, other than a vague hint of “the story made me do so”. In this regard, we can totally understand if you ever feel lost while playing this game.
Luckily, while it won’t do much to elucidate the reasoning behind most of your actions, you always have a constant guide in Game of Khans, in the form of the main story missions. You can find these tasks at any moment on the lower-left corner of your main city view. And by clicking on these, you’ll be presented with your current objectives, which are usually quite straightforward. In this sense, these missions are one of the best ways to progress in the game, as they’ll give you actual objectives to work towards.
Your Advisors Are Your Biggest Assets
While you’ll progressively uncover the story of your Khan protagonist as you progress through the story missions, your Advisors are also of vital importance in this game, as they are essentially the characters in charge of enforcing your will across your empire. And since Mongols by culture are nomadic people, you’ll need powerful generals and advisors to keep the populace in check and your villages producing resources for your war effort. However, in order to use your Advisors correctly, you need to understand how the attribute system in this game works.
In a nutshell, Advisors in Game of Khans come in four different categories: Fighters, Traders, Hunters, and Mentors. These categories, in turn, determine the characters’ favored attributes, with Fighters favoring strength; Traders favoring intellect; Hunters favoring survival, and Mentors favoring charisma. Moreover, these attributes have the following functions:
- Strength: Influences the troop casualties suffered in combat.
- Intellect: Governs silver production.
- Survival: Affects meat production.
- Charisma: Related to troop production.
With these explanations in mind, we can see that, while some Advisors are great for boosting the production of food, others are better at producing meat, while some might be better at recruiting troops. However, these Advisors are only useful for your empire when they’re assigned to villages, which is when they actually help to boost your production. On the other hand, the Advisors with the most strength should seldom be assigned to villages as they are most useful in combat, since their presence will reduce the number of troop casualties incurred when rushing the enemy.
Regardless of their type and main attribute, all Advisors contribute towards your sovereignty, which is one of the requirements for leveling up your Khan, and getting access to a variety of features.
Consorts Are Equally as Important
While your Advisors will help you by running your city and lending their aid in combat, your Consorts in Game of Khans have their own role to play in the longevity of your empire. Specifically, it’s your consorts’ job to bear your heirs, which in turn will be the ones who bear your legacy forevermore. In this sense, keeping a good relationship with your heir is important since their affinity with you will affect the heirs’ stats.
In order to boost your affinity, you can take your consorts out on dates by “visiting” them in the Harem building. This action also has a chance of randomly producing an heir, which you can then nurture and raise to become a strong lord or lady. However, while their potential is always limited by the affinity level of the consort, you can also influence the development of your heirs by making the right decisions when raising them through the different stages of their growth. From their first few days as Infants, through the learning process of their Childhoods, and finally to the rebellious phases of their Adolescence, your decisions as their father—and Khan—will heavily impact the stats of your heirs.
It’ll be a while before you actually produce the best heirs in the game, so you should focus initially on periodically visiting your Consorts and trying to increase your intimacy level with them. Keep in mind that you can also “Cherish” your favorite Consorts by paying gems, which unlocks an exclusive outfit for them, while also boosting their intimacy, experience, and has a higher chance of bearing an heir.
Keep Your Decrees Balanced
Maintaining a productive empire is not just about assigning Advisors and annexing villages; you’ll also have to step in as Khan and issue official decrees to your people. These decrees directly affect the balance of the three main civil groups in your land: Herdsmen, Warriors, and Chieftains.
Every three hours, you’ll be able to sit on your throne and attend to the needs of the people via your official decrees. On these occasions, you’ll be presented with four scenarios consisting mostly of disputes between two or more of these civil groups, and you must decide on the best course of action in order to settle them. However, depending on your decision, some groups might end up favored more than others. And if at the end of the decree session, your favor is unbalanced, your people will be annoyed and you’ll receive fewer rewards for your decisions as Khan.
A good tip here is to read the description of every dispute thoroughly, paying attention to the highlighted parties. We suggest favoring one group in the first two decisions, and then balancing out the other two in the final two decrees, in order to keep all three on the green.
And that’s it for our Game of Khans tips and tricks. These are far from being the only important elements to consider in this game, though they will definitely help to keep you started on your journey as Khan.
