Flora Box is an app to learn the botanical and the common names of plants. For that purpose, it provides a huge database of different plants from whom the user can select the ones he or she wants to learn.

The plants are organised with digital flashcards: One side provides multiple pictures of the different parts of one specific plant, the other side shows the solution with the plant name and additional plant information.

To support learning, the so called Leitner System is used: The cards are placed within a virtual box with five compartments: With the progress of learning, the cards advance from level 1 up to level 5.

This app aims to all people who need to learn plant names for professional reasons: Gardeners, florists, farmers and all students which require a knowledge of plants. To support the different needs, the app provides multiple precompiled plant lists which serve the interests of specific professional groups.

Most important, the app provides many beautiful pictures of all the different plants to learn them. So even if you only use the app for personal joy, it is nice to look at all the different plant pictures or to just look up a plant with it.

Note on the In-app purchase offer:
This version is fully functional and contains a plant database with 100 plant species to try out. Through a one-time In-app purchase you can update to the complete database (currently 1128 plant species). After that all future database updates are free of charge.

It is planned to update and expand the plant database. For extensive extensions, the price for the in-app purchase can be adjusted. Purchases already made are not affected by this, the one-time purchase entitles to all future updates.
