Play Stopwatch & Scanner on PC
There is a scanner that uses the camera facility on your phone to scan both position tokens and personal bar-codes, (it doesn't matter what order you scan them in). When a pair of bar-codes (position and athlete) are collected they are stored on a local table that can be viewed via the 'Results' section of the app.
A stopwatch enables the user to record an unlimited number of runners and outputs a file that works seamlessly with the results processing servers. The stopwatch uses the volume buttons to 'click' through results giving immediate feedback and listing runners times as they are logged, perfect for checking the times are in sync with the finish tokens.
Token Support is a simple form to submit entries manually for those bar-codes that don't scan properly. As all events are instructed to only manually process results for those runners who have their bar-codes but will not scan only these two fields are available by default. Additional information can be assigned to an athlete by toggling the 'Details' button. This information, like that from the scanner is stored in a local table on the phone.
The data logged from both the 'Scanner' and 'Finish Tokens Support' is stored in the same table so if required the same phone can be used to perform two functions. When all runners results have been collected, data can be reviewed in the 'Results' section of the app. The data can then be either saved to a text file locally, sent as a text file via email or uploaded to a dropbox folder. The text files can then be uploaded to the webFMS as you would the normal scanner text files. Note: only entries with both an athlete number & a position will be uploaded.
Stopwatch & Scanner has been developed solely by a parkrun enthusiast and is in no way affiliated with the parkrun organisation or UKTT.
Stopwatch & Scanner will only work on devices running Android 4.0 (Jelly Bean) and above. The app uses the device camera to scan bar-codes. In older devices the cameras tend not to be good enough or fast enough to scan in a timely fashion.
Permissions:
We ask for permission to use your camera in-order to scan the bar-codes.
We ask for permission to store the files to your phone so that they can be either emailed, sent to Dropbox or downloaded to your PC via a cable.
