Have a look on the map to find out where you can work 88 days and contact employers / farms to ask for a job. By sharing your experience you help the community of backpackers in Australia to find good jobs to get the Second Year Visa.
- CALCULATE YOUR FARM DAYS -
Since volunteer jobs like Woofing are no more eligible to get the Second Year Visa, it has become more difficult to calculate the 88 days of Regional Work.
Being backpackers ourselves, we created this tool to help you calculate your visa days and to maximise your chances to get the Second Year Visa.
We are regularly working to update the calculation according to new information from the homeaffairs.gov.au website.
- WHERE/WHEN FIND A JOB IN AUSTRALIA? -
The Australian Government provides in free access an harvest calendar. This will help you to organize your trip and find a job depending of working seasons.
- A FREE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT -
This website is created by two backpackers currently in Australia, has no commercial purpose and is totally free. Also, if you want to join our adventure, don't hesitate to contact us.
- WHAT IS A SECOND YEAR WORKING HOLIDAY VISA ? -
The Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) is a temporary visa which allows people between the ages of 18 and 31 to live and work in Australia for up to one year. The second year visa is simply an extension of the first year visa, available up until the age of 31.The Government is considering options for expanding the upper age of eligibility from 30 to 35 years. The current age of eligibility (18 to 30) still applies for the moment. If you apply for the Second Year Visa in Australia, you must be in Australia when the visa is granted. If you apply outside Australia, you must be outside Australia when the visa is granted.
- WE WANT 88 DAYS TO WORK TO HELP BACKPACKERS: -
Before they arrive in Australia and when they just arrived, by giving them the opportunity to check on the map where are employers that offer Regional Work to complete the 88 days. They can also check comments and salary that other users shared to know before they apply how much money they can earn, and what kind of work they can expect.
When they already worked in Australia, by helping them check if they completed the 88 days before they apply for the Second Year visa (to avoid rejection) and give them the opportunity to share their experience.
- WHO CREATED THIS APP? -
We are a couple of French backpackers that are currently on our first Working Holiday Visa in Australia. We worked for different employers during several months (fruitpicking, pruning, etc.). We were surprised how difficult it is to find information about a job before we applied, and to calculate the 88 days !
