Alto’s Adventure is an incredibly soothing game. You control a snowboarder named Alto who travels across a flat, scenic world while performing all sorts of tricks to collect coins and points.
While there are no monsters to defeat, you’ll have to master the terrain of each zone. There are deep pits, tall mountains, and a wide assortment of other obstacles blocking your path to the finish line.
Alto’s Adventure focuses more heavily on relaxing the player than exciting them with challenging courses. Players will enjoy traversing the liminal tracks while chaining together combo tricks to earn a high score. WIRED got it right when they called this racing game a “piece of interactive art.”
Alto has 5 other companions you can control as you snowboard across the mysteriously lonely words. You can also test your and your friend’s skills by creating zones and choosing from 180 unique goals. While the graphics and gameplay are minimalistic, you’ll have hours of fun with Alto.
