The IAEA Conferences and Meetings App provides easy access to relevant information about ongoing or upcoming IAEA conferences and meetings. It contains the programme, abstracts, speaker profiles and other relevant information related to a particular meeting including voting, decisions and meeting recommendations. The App also enables participants to communicate with each other via a built-in messaging system.

Developed as part of a paper-smart initiative of the IAEA, the App is intended to be a useful, collaborative tool for the conduct and evaluation of Agency conferences.

One of the IAEA’s statutory functions is "to foster the exchange of scientific and technical information on the peaceful uses of atomic energy.”

The convening of a conference or symposium is one means of achieving this statutory requirement through either disclosing areas of consensus; clarifying issues; possibly resolving technical disputes; or identifying common, open issues. Conclusions from conferences or symposia can be helpful in determining future activities of the IAEA. They can also result in further co-operative activities being undertaken on an international level.
