Learn a foreign language? Want to get faster results? Tired of writing new words in a notebook or on random sheets of paper that are always getting lost or are not at hand at the needed time? Then the 'English WordCards' application is for you!

Everyone who studies a foreign language, from the very beginning, feels how important vocabulary is. Trying to express an idea in a new language, from the first sentence you encounter a shortage of "necessary" words. And more experienced you become, you run into more and more complex sources - literature, movies, articles on the Internet and new acquaintances, native speakers. Hence, the need for the active vocabulary replenish never disappears.

With the convenient functions and features of this app you can:
• Add cards to your workbook for the words and phrases you need, in English or any other language;
• Select and view one of the internal frequency dictionaries (English-English, English-Russian) and add words from it to the workbook;
• Edit previously added cards;
• Mark the cards by hashtags, combining them into the groups;
• Quick-search added cards by hashtag or substring;
• Mark the cards you learned;
• Sort cards in alphabetical order or by the date of creation;
• Select cards display modes (all, learned, unlearned);
• Take translation and spelling quizzes;
• Backup workbook and move it to another device;
• Listen words and phrases pronunciation;

Brief instruction:
The application contains five main sections accessible from the side menu: Workbook, Translation Quiz, Spelling Quiz, Dictionary and Settings.

The section 'Workbook' is intended for adding new cards, as well as searching, viewing and editing existing ones.
To add a card, use the 'Add card' toolbar option, and to change the display and sort settings, use the option 'Filtering'.
The card contains interface elements to editing and sounding pronunciation of the word.
After a long click by the card, the mode of cards multiselecting for group removing is activated.

'Translation Quiz' and 'Spelling Quiz' are designed to test remembrance of words from your workbook. Quizzes are forming from the cards of the workbook. The quizzes formation settings are in the 'Settings' section.

Section 'Dictionary' is for browsing the dictionary, selected in settings (English-English or English-Russian). Dictionaries are formed of the English words grouped by frequency of occurrence. Necessary words can be added to the workbook. Selecting an arbitrary position in the dictionary is possible by long pressing on either of the navigation buttons 'Prev' or 'Next' or by clicking on the statistics line in the window header. The current position in the dictionary is saved when you exit the section.

In the 'Settings' section there are controls for dictionary selection, searching in the dictionary when adding a card, and for quizzes forming. Also in this section there is an interface for workbook backup ('Export / import workbook').


The application uses the following permissions:
Access to files on the device (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) - for the backup functions of the notebook.
Full Internet access (INTERNET) - to send reports to the developer, in case of unexpected application errors. The data you send can only include information about the characteristics of your device, application settings, and a copy of the log entries. Such reports are sent over a secure HTTPS protocol, do not contain any personal data of the user and will be used by the developer solely for the purpose of finding and correcting unexpected errors in the application.
