How to Unlock and Upgrade Pets in Dragon Trail: Hunter World
One of the most interesting aspects of Dragon Trail: Hunter World, is the pet system through which we can obtain and upgrade a wide variety of adorable creatures, and also to deploy them and have them follow us around throughout our journeys. However, in order to make the most out of our adorable companions, we need to know how to upgrade them properly, which is the purpose of this guide.
Read on to get an overview of the basic aspects of unlocking, upgrading, and using your pets in Dragon Trail.
Unlocking New Pets
Despite being mostly a mobile MMORPG, Dragon Trail: Hunter World also has a gacha system in place for the pet mechanic. In other words, the main form of unlocking new pets in this game is via summoning them through the gacha by using special tickets. This mechanic is unlocked upon reaching level 32, so it might be a while before you actually summon your first pet, which means that you’ll have to use the ones you get from story early on.
There are a few ways to receive Pet Summon Tickets, such as by clearing dungeons and participating in a variety of different game modes.
Upgrading Your Pets
Now, while having the best pets in the game at your disposal will be pivotal to your success in Dragon Trail: Hunter World, you also need to make sure that these pets are always properly upgraded, in order for them to perform optimally in combat. After all, even the top tier pets are weak and mostly useless when they’re at level 1 and with no evolutions or upgrades whatsoever.
At the beginning, you’ll only really need to worry about three types of pet upgrades in Dragon Trail:
- Leveling: By feeding your pets fruits and other types of food, you can increase its level, giving it a permanent stat boost in the process.
- Ascension: Your pet’s level is capped by its quality. However, you can increase this level cap by increasing its quality through the Ascension process. To do so, you’ll first need to meet certain requirements, such as having reached a certain level with your character, as well as having your pet’s level maxed out, among others. Once you’ve met these requirements, you can use special items called “Edifying Leaves” to ascend your pets.
- Evolving: Pets in Dragon Trail can evolve and upgrade their abilities, and achieve new and stronger forms in the process. To do so, however, you’ll need to collect not only a number of duplicate monsters of the same star rank, but also a number of monsters of the same star rank that share the same element. These requirements make Evolving pets one of the hardest methods of upgrading, though they’re also the most useful, since they upgrade a pet’s abilities and make them more useful in combat.
Deploying and Using Your Pets
This might go without saying, but in order for your pets to actually be of use to you, you need to deploy them to the field. This aspect can be easy to ignore since it’s not explained very well in-game. However, in order to deploy your pets, you simply need to select them in the pet menu, and click on the small “Deploy” button beside their model. This will add their stats to your own power, and will also unleash the pet to assist you in combat.
