One of the very interesting features of Heroes of the Dark is the ability to build your own Victorian mansion. The mansion serves as the headquarters for all your heroes but more importantly, this is also the place where you will obtain the majority of the essential resources that you will use in your adventure (i.e., Gold, Moondust). In this guide, we’ll introduce you to the various rooms that you can build in your mansion and how to effectively upgrade them.

Throne Room

The Throne Room is the heart of your mansion. What rooms you can build as well as how many of them you can build is determined by the level of the Throne Room.

To level up the Throne Room, you will need a certain amount of Gold to construct the upgrades. Alternatively, you can also spend Lunar Gems which is the game’s premium currency. Upgrading the Throne Room will give you access to new rooms to build, the increased the maximum number of rooms you can build, and increased maximum level of said rooms.

Should you choose to upgrade by spending Gold, you will need to patiently wait for a short to the long amount of time depending on the level that the Throne Room will upgrade to. You can shorten the construction time by consuming Speed-up items. The amount of decreased construction time depends on the type of Speed-Up item that you use. There are various types such as “Lower Speed-Up” (decreases one minute) and “Divine Speed-Up” (decreases three days). Spending Lunar Gems instead of Gold will instantly complete the construction; however, your Gold will still be decreased. Interestingly, you can keep using Lunar Gems to instantly construct rooms even when your Gold reaches zero.

The spending of either Gold or Lunar Gems for constructions and the use of Speed-Ups to hasten said constructions are not only done in the Throne Room. These can be done on practically all other rooms in the mansion.

Resource Facilities

The mansion is where you will primarily harvest essential resources needed to either improve the mansion or make your heroes stronger. These rooms can be upgraded individually to boost their production output.

Additionally, you can also assign heroes to rooms to further give buffs to its production capacity. Even when a hero is assigned to a room, they can still be sent to battle.

Like the Gold Foundry, it generates Moondust on an hourly basis and stores a moderate amount of the dust it makes.

The Vault acts as additional storage for generated Gold and Moondust. Additionally, it also protects these resources from the hands of enemies who may invade your mansion. Unlike the previous rooms, you cannot assign heroes in the Vault.

There is a maximum of three waves in the Garrison and each wave can hold five heroes. When an enemy attacks the mansion, they will have to go through the waves of your Garrison first. The more waves there are (assuming each wave is fully filled with five heroes), the better your defenses will be against foreign attackers. More waves are unlocked when your upgrade the Garrison to the required level.
