Suyou Active and Passive Skills
Before we study any hero, it’s imperative to learn about their skills. As it happens, Suyou is also one of the more complicated heroes to be released. They can switch between mortal and immortal forms to outplay their opponents. Each ability in his kit can work differently depending on if you tap on it or hold the skill button. Check out all the abilities wielded by Suyou:
Transient Immortal (Passive Skill)
Tap the skill – Casting any skill will transform Suyou into his Mortal form, increase his Movement Speed, and reduce the time between Basic Attacks.
Hold the skill – Casting any skill will transform Suyou into his Immortal form, boosting the damage of Basic Attacks and giving him Damage Reduction. In this form, for every specific amount of increased Physical Attack Suyou has, he obtains Damage Reduction with a maximum percentage.
Tips to maximize this ability usage:
- Tapping abilities transforms him into Mortal form, increasing his Movement Speed, which is perfect for fast battles, escapes, and exploring the map.
- Use Immortal form in long-lasting battles for increased durability and assaults.
- Mastering the transition between these forms is critical to both movement and survival.
Blade Surge (1st Active Skill)
Tap the skill – Suyou throws his weapon in the intended direction, inflicting Physical Damage on foes in its path. Suyou then blinks to the weapon’s location, grabs it, and slashes in the other direction, dealing Physical Damage.
Hold the skill – Suyou directs the Immortal’s power and charges in the desired direction, causing Physical Damage to opponents along the way. When an enemy hero is hit, he stops and stuns adversaries in a rectangle area in front for a short period of time. The charge’s distance increases with hold time. Suyou can be controlled while charging, but the skill cannot be cancelled.
Tips to maximize this ability usage:
- Throwing the weapon and blinking to catch it make this variation ideal for fast damage and repositioning. Use it to poke adversaries, track down fleeing prey, or escape out of a bad fight.
- The charge version has a long-range dash that increases damage the longer you hold it. Use this to start fights, catch enemies off guard from a distance, and close gaps during ganks.
- For optimum impact, charge Blade Surge in the bushes for a surprise strike, followed by Soul Sever for massive damage.
Soul Sever (2nd Active Skill)
Tap the skill – Suyou unleashes a sweeping assault with his weapon, dealing Physical Damage equal to a percentage of the target’s Lost HP to opponents in a fan-shaped area.
Hold the skill – Suyou uses the Immortal’s strength to conduct many cleaves in a fan-shaped area. The first two strikes deal Physical Damage apiece, while the last strike does additional Physical Damage and recovers HP for himself.
Tips to maximize this ability usage:
- The tap variation of this ability is good for finishing off low-health adversaries and is a dependable option against targets with mobility or crowd control because it cannot be interrupted.
- In long-duration team fights, use the hold variant to maximize damage and healing.
- To avoid interruptions from heroes with excellent crowd control, use the tap variant.
- In prolonged engagements or against teams with low CC, the hold version provides more damage and sustains Suyou.
Fear Queller (3rd Active Skill)
Tap the skill – Suyou glides backward and swings his weapon in the target direction, delivering Physical Damage to enemies in a rectangular area and along his backward route, as well as temporarily lowering their Movement Speed.
Hold the skill – Suyou uses the Immortal’s power to fire a lethal arrow in the target’s direction, causing Physical Damage to the target. As the hold time grows, so does the range. Suyou can be controlled while charging, but the skill cannot be canceled.
Tips to maximize this ability usage:
- The tap variant is an escape tool. Use it to withdraw after an engagement or to halt adversaries pursuing you.
- The hold variant provides ranged poke that deals significant damage.
- Use it to distract attackers before engaging or to soften targets from afar. When foes are low, use it to knock them down before attacking with your first and second abilities.
- Begin fights with the hold version to poke and weaken adversaries, then use the tap version to flee when things get dangerous. It is ideal for both initiating and disengaging safely.
Suyou Recommended Spells
Suyou is highly recommended to be played as a jungler for the team due to his fast clear speed and ganking potential. The spell to take is Retribution as the jungler will always need it to secure objectives or deal additional damage to enemies. Suyou can fast track his lead quite well and it is recommended to find vulnerable lanes and gank them repeatedly. It is easy to snowball as Suyou as long as you maintain a balance between farming and securing objectives with your team.
Suyou Recommended Emblems
It’s recommended to take the fighter emblems for an increase in Spell Vamp, Adaptive Attack, and Hybrid Defense. Choose Get Thrill, Seasoned Hunter, and Lethal Ignition to enhance your abilities. Thrill provides more Physical Attack, which is critical for your early game wave clearing and killing potential. Suyou relies heavily on Seasoned Hunter as a jungler. This talent increases damage against jungle monsters, allowing you to harvest faster and control objectives more effectively.
Lethal Ignition increases Suyou’s damage output, especially in protracted skirmishes where you can land many hits. The combination of multi-hit skills and Lethal Ignition allows you to provide constant, consistent damage while also providing a burst effect to finish off low-health foes.
