The next-gen of NBA 2K24 has introduced a new feature titled “Shot Timing Visual Cue”. Understanding the shot timing visual cue is crucial for improving your shooting accuracy. The game provides a visual feedback system to help you time your shots correctly. This feature helps players in accurately shooting, although it is a bit confusing to learn at first. This guide will go through the basics of the feature, detailing how to use it effectively to improve your game better.

What is Shot Timing Visual Cue in NBA 2K24?

Shot timing visual cue is a new setting in NBA 2K24 that changes the timing of when you should release the Square button on the PS5 or X on the Xbox Series X|S to perfectly time your shoots, also known as greening your shot. It makes no difference to the speed of your shot or when your player releases the ball. The player’s shooting animation determines the time of your shot. As a result, you will have no competitive advantage over others.

The shot time visual cue is identical to NBA 2K23’s Shot time setting. In 2K23, we have Very Early, Early, Late, and Very Late. Now it’s Jump, Set Point, Push, and Release. The option is fairly self-explanatory, but in essence, it determines when you should release the shoot button during your jump shot.

NBA 2K24: Shot Timing Visual Cue Guide

Select “Jump” when you wish to release as soon as your player jumps, “Set Point” when your shot is ready, “Push” when your player pushes the ball out, and “Release” when your player releases go of the ball. Since “Jump” is quite rapid and “Release” takes a long time, most users should probably test both “Set Point” and “Push” to discover which one they prefer.

If you discover that your timings are consistently early, try one of the faster visual signals. If you find yourself shooting a lot of late-timed shots, consider using “Push” or “Release”. Again, these parameters have no effect on when your shots are really released.

If you were playing NBA 2K23 with timing on Late, it’s recommended that you go with Push in NBA 2K24. These modifications are greatly appreciated, as shot timing in 2K23 was much more ambiguous, forcing you to guess when your jump shot was ready to release.
