Command & Conquer: Rivals PVP - Units and Commanders Guide
Command & Conquer: Rivals PVP is like a large-scale stone-scissor-paper game: Each unit in the game is stronger against another one. But they are also weak against some units too. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each unit is the key to winning the battle. If you make random choices, your units will die without providing you any benefit. However, if you make the right choices, you can control the tiles more easily and destroy your enemy. In this guide, you will find details about all the units and commanders in Command & Conquer Rivals.
All GDI and NOD Units
The units in the Command & Conquer Rivals are divided into four main categories: Infantry, Vehicles, Air Assault, and Tech Assault.
In order to produce these units, you have to construct the following buildings:
UNIT CATEGORY | REQUIRED BUILDING |
Infantry | Barracks / Hand of NOD |
Vehicles | War Factory |
Air Assault | Helipad / Air Tower |
Tech Assault | Tech Lab / Temple of NOD |
In addition, there are four commanders in each faction. Each commander brings a different advantage to the battlefield. These will be discussed in detail below, but let’s start with the units first. Further information on how to use all these units effectively can be found in our other guides. In particular, we recommend that you take a look at our Command & Conquer Rivals PvP guide.

How To Get New Units and Commanders
Each unit and commander in Command & Conquer Rivals comes out of the reward crates. You can purchase these crates for real money or win them at the end of your successfully completed missions. There is no guarantee about what will come out of these crates: The results are completely random and you cannot target a particular unit or commander. When you exceed the required level limit, the content of the crates will change and new commanders and units will be added in them in correspond with your level.
We recommend that you take a printout of this guide and keep it for quick reference: Knowing which unit is strong against which one allows you to make the right decisions quickly. Don’t focus on Commanders: Yes, their abilities give you an advantage, but the secret of victory is hidden in choosing the right units. You are now much more familiar with the Command & Conquer Rivals units and can easily gain victory by using this information. Don’t forget to take a look at the detailed PvP guide to learn how to use these units effectively. Good luck on the battlefield!
