Wuthering Waves: A Guide for All Game Modes
If you’re an action RPG lover, there’s likely that you’ve heard the buzz surrounding Wuthering Waves, an excellent story-rich futuristic title developed by Kuro Games. With the global release creeping ever so closer on 22nd May, 2024, players worldwide are excited to try out the game. Well, we’ve got you covered if you’re curious to know how many game modes there are, as well as the mechanics involved. Keep in mind, this information is from the 2nd closed beta, so some changes can occur. Partaking in these game modes will help you build your resource pool, and effectively increase combat power as a new player.
Simulation Field
Players can get a ton of resources from these stages. Different types of resources are available in different stages of the Simulation Field. Depending on your choice, you can get Resonator XP materials, Weapon XP material, Shell credits, and Echo XP materials. Each entry to these stages’ costs 40 Waveplates. For those unaware, Waveplates are the energy system that allows players to interact with the different game modes.
Forgery Challenge
Weapon Ascension/Forte Upgrade materials are rewarded in these stages. To determine the Resonator page you require, refer to the five levels that drop different materials corresponding to the five different types of Weapons. Each entry costs 40 waveplates.
Boss Challenge
Bosses that reward materials used in resonator ascension include these. Check your Resonator page to determine which ascension material the Resonator you are ascending requires, as each boss drops a different one. Bosses respawn in 3 seconds after being slayed. Each entry to Boss Challenge costs 60 waveplates.
Tacet Field Cleanup
If you love collecting Echoes, then Tacet Field is your go-to game mode. Additionally, you can also get Echo EXP materials, and Echo Tune-up materials as rewards in these fields. Make sure to select the field rewards that have the sonata effects you desire, as each one has a separate set of sonata effects. Each entry to Tacet Fields costs 60 waveplates.
Weekly Challenge
These are the weekly bosses that grant rewards such as standard weapon molds (which are used to construct weapons), unique Forte upgrade materials, Echo EXP materials, and Weapon EXP materials. These bosses can only give you rewards once every week. Each entry costs 60 waveplates to challenge the weekly boss.
Tower of Adversity
The goal of the Tower of Adversity game mode is to eliminate a group of opponents as quickly as you can. Depending on how long it takes you to vanquish the opponents in a certain Tower of Adversity stage, you will receive one, two, or three crests upon finishing it. The better the prizes you get, the more crests you are given. This game mode contains 3 different zones – Stable Zone, Experimentation Zone, Hazard Zone. Each zone has multiple stages and rewards you with Asterites upon first time clear.
Depths of Illusive Realm
In the roguelike game mode Depths of Illusive Realm, players take control of a Resonator and enter a simulated realm to gather a random collection of buffs that they can utilize to strengthen their team and battle the creatures there. In order to beat the boss at the last stage, the player must advance through a series of semi-randomized combat and non-combat stages. There is no cap on how many times a player can begin a run in the Depths of Illusive Realm, and playing this game mode doesn’t cost any Waveplate.
Tactical Hologram
Tactical Hologram is another boss challenge that lets you fight increasingly tougher enemies with every stage. From the information available during CB2, there are 4 bosses, each with 6 difficulty levels. First time clearing each boss on any level grants the player with Echo materials and Drill Data Sets.
Playing Wuthering Waves on a bigger screen of your PC with BlueStacks without worrying about battery drainage and smooth gameplay, is highly recommended.
