Epic Seven continues to be one of the most popular and top-grossing turn-based RPGs. With the 6th anniversary in full swing, players were left wondering if there any more surprises are coming, and were they right! The newest update brings the much-awaited 5-Star moonlight hero Harsetti! Considered a speed meta killer, this hero will surely bring about many changes in the current PvP meta. In terms of new content, the update includes a 2-week long special side story featuring Midnight Lilias and Lilias. Let’s check out all the stuff added to Epic Seven with the 3rd October, 2024 update!

Harsetti – New Dark Elemental 5-Star Unit

Harsetti is a natural 5-Star Dark elemental hero that is classified as a Mage in-game. Her hero description reads the following – “The Sovran who rules Skuggiheim, the forest of Shadow Elves. She bootstrapped her way to power, armed with strong leadership skills and drive. She overcame the limitations of her social class and personally deposed the previous incompetent King, to claim the throne for herself. However, she has no intention of settling for her current position and secretly prepares a plan to launch herself to even greater heights.” 

Harsetti’s skills are as follows: –

Gambit – Attacks the enemy, with a 60% chance to decrease Defense for 1 turn. When it is the caster’s turn, uses En Passant as an extra attack. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

En Passant: Attacks all enemies, with a 60% chance to decrease Attack for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

+1: + 5% damage dealt

+2: + 5% damage dealt

+3: + 5% Gambit effect chance

+4: + 5% damage dealt

+5: + 5% damage dealt

+6: + 10% Gambit effect chance

+7: + 10% damage dealt

Burn Effect: Effect Chance of Gambit increases to 100% and decreases Defense for 2 turns. (-10 Souls)

The Law of Skuggiheim (Passive) – At the start of battle, Speed of the caster is fixed going forward, and Speed of all Heroes except for the caster is limited to a maximum of 90% of the caster’s Speed. On the caster’s turn, Combat Readiness increase effects of all Heroes is not applied. The Law of Skuggiheim only applies to PvP.

Checkmate – Attacks all enemies, decreasing buff duration by 2 turns and a 75% chance each to inflict unable to counterattack and unable to be buffed for 2 turns. Penetrates the target’s Defense. When Focus is full, consumes it all, increasing damage dealt. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health.

+1: + 5% damage dealt

+2: + 5% damage dealt

+3: + 10% effect chance

+4: – 1 turn cooldown

+5: + 5% damage dealt

+6: + 5% damage dealt

+7: + 15% effect chance

+8: + 10% damage dealt

Special Side Story – Night of the Last Succession

The Night of the Last Succession is a special side story that lasts for a period of 2 weeks. The scheduled period is from 3rd October 2023 till 17th October 2024. The entire special side story features multiple thematic story-based sequences that players can travel and play through. The description for the side story reads the following – “After the family training, Lilias returns to the mansion. However, she unexpectedly ends up joining the succession competition by being chosen by the Bastion of Perlutia. Meanwhile, she slowly comes to terms with the fate that’s been handed to her…”

If you’re not a fan of story, there’s also an option to skip it entirely and directly jump into the action. For those unfamiliar with this concept, the side stories have 2 types of event stages – Story stages, and Battle stages. In the former, players need to simply watch or skip the story to clear the stage. In the latter, you will have to defeat numerous enemies to move forward in the storyline. 

Players are required to have cleared at least Episode 1, Chapter 1 Stage 10 Shrieking Hall will be able to access this side story. Talking about missions, there are 2 types of quests – Reputation and Story. The former type of quests requires the player to complete certain stages of the side story “X” number of times. The latter missions entail the player to complete all the stages of the side story and earn stars. The more stars you achieve, the more rewards you can earn. Completing all the quests will result in a grand reward. The entire side story is going to be lasting for only 2 weeks, so ensure you have completed all the missions before then. 

The side story’s rewards are considerable, including MolaGora, Greater and Lesser Artifact Charms, Penguins, Epic and Rare Catalysts, Giga Phantasms, Covenant Bookmarks, and gold. Aside from these resources, players can earn a lot of extra rewards by completing reputation quests.
