Epic Seven by Smilegate have recently released a new update for their popular 3D turn-based RPG. The update can already be seen in the live version of the game as it was released on 2nd November 2022. Apart from tons of new content in terms of a new hero and a special side story for Halloween, the game has also been backing up on its promise made for the second half of 2022 as part of the roadmap update. The entire update was broken down through the community managers Mashuu and Luka on the game’s official YouTube channel. Players who came to support the stream were also rewarded with a chest code. The chest code is – Halloween22. Players can use this code to unlock the chest provided in their in-game mailbox.

A new covenant 5-Star hero Arunka was released as part of the update. She will be available to be summoned on her own special banner using covenant bookmarks. A special side story supporting the horror theme of Halloween was also released alongside. Titled as “A Fable of the Demons of Natalon”, the special side story will be running for 3 weeks. Let’s check all the new content added to Epic Seven with the 2nd November update.

Arunka – Wind Elemental 5-Star Unit

Arunka, a natural 5-Star Wind unit that is classified as a Warrior was added to the ever-growing roster of heroes in Epic Seven. Her hero description reads the following – “The queen who takes care of the Suin of Tranquil Prairie. Arunka is the victor of the Autumn Sword that has been handed down for many generations. Unlike most Suin, she is unprejudiced and open-minded to Humans and other races, causing some backlash from some other Suin factions.”

Arunka’s skills are as follows: –

Dagger Throw – Throws a dagger at the enemy, with a 50% chance each to inflict two bleeding effects for 2 turns. A successful attack has a 50% chance to activate Expose as an extra attack. Expose can only be activated once on the caster’s turn.

Expose: Attacks the enemy and recovers the Health of the caster. Amount recovered increases proportional to the caster’s Attack.

+1: + 5% damage dealt

+2: + 5% damage dealt

+3: + 5% damage dealt

+4: + 5% damage dealt

+5: + 10% damage dealt

Burn Effect: Increases the effect chance to activate Expose. (-10 Souls)

Wild Instinct (Passive) – Attack increases by 30%. When attacking, cannot trigger a critical hit. At the end of an enemy’s turn, when the target is granted a barrier, increases the Combat Readiness of the caster by 5%.

A Thrashing in the Prairie – After increasing the Attack of the caster for 2 turns, runs up to the enemy to attack. When the enemy is defeated, inflicts extinction. Penetrates the target’s Defense by 70% and when the target is granted a barrier, increases damage dealt.

+1: + 5% damage dealt

+2: + 5% damage dealt

+3: – 1 turn cooldown

+4: + 10% damage dealt

+5: + 10% damage dealt

Sword of Autumn Eclipse (New 5-Star Artifact) – Increases Attack of all allies by 5%, and increases the Hit Chance of the caster by 20%. This Artifact’s skill can only apply to one Hero within a team.

Special Side Story – A Fable of the Demons of Natalon

A new special side story especially for the spooky festival of Halloween was released alongside Arunka. The developers have promised to release a new side story featuring Arunka and her back story at a later date. However, she will be featured in this special side story as well alongside Ken, Hwayoung, and many other favorable heroes of Epic Seven. A special side story is different from a regular side story as it is much longer in terms of duration as well as provides a lot more rewards for the players. The description for the side story reads the following – “The monks have been at war with the demons for a long, long time.

However, the monks soon became a dying breed, and the power of their seals ebbed along with them.

Without a moment’s hesitation, the demons have begun crawling back into Natalon’s lands…

The Special Side Story, A Fable of the Demons of Natalon begins now.”

During the side story, players will travel to different locations on the side story map. Stages will be divided into 3 unique types:

• Story Stages – In these stages, players will be tasked to view the main storyline of the side story. These stages might be or might not be associated with a battle sequence depending on the stage. These stages will also have some additional conditions which are required to be fulfilled by the players in order to obtain extra premium currency. Players will earn the event currency for this side story after achieving victory.
• Battle Stages – In these stages, players will be tasked to participate in and win battles against waves of enemies. These stages might also have certain conditions required to be fulfilled in order to obtain the premium currency. Some battle stages will also pair you with an NPC character relevant to the story. Players will earn event currency as well after achieving victory.
• Boss Stages – In these stages, players are required to defeat the boss monster that will come at the end of the waves of enemies. These stages provide players with a higher amount of event currency compared to regular battle stages. Boss stages are further divided into multiple difficulties to suit the level of players – Easy Difficulty/ Normal Difficulty/ Hard Difficulty/ Extreme Difficulty.

Players are required to have cleared at least Episode 1, Chapter 10 Stage 10 to be able to access the special side story. A Fable of the Demons of Natalon is going to be running for 3 weeks straight. Starting from 3rd November 2022, it will end on 24th November 2022, giving players ample amount of time to grind and collect all the rewards. The event currencies required to exchange rewards from the exchange shop will also be segregated into 3 distinct parts. Each week will have its own event currency that players will be able to collect only after the map for the week unlocks. The 1st week’s event currency is White Plushie. It is recommended to fight the Boss stages on the highest difficulty possible to get the most event currency. Players can later exchange their collected event currency in the event exchange shop for juicy rewards such as MolaGora, Greater and Lesser Artifact Charms, Penguins, Epic, and Rare Catalysts, Giga Phantasms, Covenant Bookmarks, and Gold.

During this special side story, if players use the hero: Hwayoung, Arunka, Yulia, then their stats will be increased in the following manner: Level 60/ Awakened to 6-Star/ +15 Enhanced Skills/Attack and Health increased by 30%.  If players use the following heroes: Ken, Peira, Hasol, then their stats will be increased in the following manner: Attack and Health increased by 30%. Players can also get bonus event currency when clearing stages with heroes equipped with the following artifacts – Seal of Capture, Indestructible Gaiters, Sphere of Sadism, and Sword of Autumn Eclipse.
