New Hero Taeyou Arrives, Luluca & Spirit's Breath Drop Rate Up and More in Latest Epic Seven Update
Heirs, a new update is upon us this May as the Epic Seven patch introduces new content, new changes, and most importantly a new hero.
The April update included a lot of balance adjustments, but the highlight of the patch was Silver Blade Aramintha, Dark Corvus, and Diene who all received major nerfs, buffs, and fixes. You can read more about these changes in our previous blog post.
Now, let us dive into Epic Seven’s May update which headlines the new 5-star hero, Taeyou.
New hero Taeyou
Taeyou is the newest addition to the 5-star family in Epic Seven. He is a red-haired, cold-blooded boy of darkness who eliminates everything standing in his way. This Ice Warrior will give up everything to protect the one thing most precious to him in Covenant Summon.
A child of darkness driven by a single purpose – this is Taeyou. Ever since he was taken by the Hand of Revolution, he has been an entirely different person. Because they have opposing goals, Taeyou is in constant conflict with Adin, though he still cherishes her.
Unlike other heroes in Epic Seven, Taeyou can be cold and will not hesitate to remove anyone who stands in his way. Taeyou is another successor of Silvana, and is someone who can wield the Four Season Swords. He is collecting the Four Seasons Swords while cooperating with the Hand of Revolution, but no one really knows his reason for doing so.
Taeyou is a 5-star Ice Elemental Warrior. He has a high Critical Hit Chance and Effectiveness, and can increase his Attack through Imprint Concentration.
Here are Taeyou’s skills:
- Full Moon Slash – Attacks the enemy with a spear and increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 15%. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s Speed. When the caster is enraged, activates Tidal Crash as an extra attack. Tidal Crash can only be activated once per turn, during the caster’s turn.
Tidal Crash: Attacks the enemy by slashing downwards with a spear. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s Speed.
- Azure Waves of the Ocean – After an enemy uses a non-attack skill, dispels all debuffs from the caster and becomes enraged for three turns, granting skill nullifier once to the caster. Can only be activated once every four turns.
- Tornado Sweep – [Before Awakening] Attacks all enemies, dispelling two buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by one turn twice. When the caster is enraged, dispelling buffs effect changes into dispelling all buffs.
[After Awakening] Attacks all enemies, dispelling two buffs, and increases skill cooldowns of the target with the highest Attack by one turn twice. Increases Attack of the caster for two turns. When the caster is enraged, dispelling buffs effect changes to dispelling all buffs.
New artifact Spear of Purification
With the arrival of the new hero comes a fresh 5-star Warrior-exclusive artifact is also available.
The Spear of Purification is an Artifact that increases Attack of the caster. After an enemy uses a non-attack skill, increases Combat Readiness of the caster once per turn. This Artifact will assist the player to take turns earlier when the enemy uses non-attack skills.
The new artifact, Spear of Purification, will be available from the Taeyou & Spear of Purification Drop Rate Up. Once the Drop Rate Up ends on May 19 at 03:00 UTC, the featured Artifact will be available from Covenant Summon, or by using Summon Tickets.
Side Story – The Reason for My Mission and Being
Epic Seven is going all out by also launching Taeyou’s side story titled “The Reason for My Mission and Being” where players will get to know the character better.
As Taeyou opened his eyes, he found himself in a different place from where he fell asleep. That place, which felt so familiar to him, turned out to be the Summer Shrine. Taeyou wonders how and why he returned, especially since he had journeyed far away from South Theranhad.
In this event, the currency will be called the Golden Tomato, a golden fruit that can only be found in South Theranhad. It is said that these fruits harvested around the Summer Shrine are the most succulent. Players will be able to exchange the event currency, Golden Tomato, for items in the Exchange up to one week after the Side Story ends. Unused event currency after that period will then be deleted.
During this time, Adin and Verdant Adin will have buffs in Attack and Heat – 30% (increased) while Taeyou has been upgraded to level 60 and Awakened to 6★ with +15 Enhanced Skills, Attack, and Heat – 30% (increase).
Remember the following when it comes to stage difficulty:
- Players can choose various difficulty levels on stage 10. Remembrance Road.
- Players may select a higher difficulty after successfully clearing the one before it.
- As the difficulty progresses, the amount of Energy needed to play will increase as well as the amount of event currency earned.
- Hell difficulty can be played up to 5 times during the side story period.
This will be available from May 5 until May 19 at 2:59 UTC, where players need to complete 10-10 Shrieking Hall in Episode 1 before being able to participate. It will be a two-week side story where you can complete side story stages, achievements, quests, and obtain event currency that can be exchanged for items.
Drop rates up
Two banners will have increased drop rates, namely the banners of Taeyou and the Spear of Purification and Luluca’s and Spirit’s Breath.
The ice elemental mage, Luluca, decreases the enemy’s Defense and aids allies to stand fast on the battlefield. Players can also obtain the Mage-exclusive Artifact, Spirit’s Breath, designed for Mages who use non-attack skills frequently.
Both banners will be available from May 5 at 3 AM UTC until May 12 at 2:59 AM UTC.
