New balance adjustments for the 2D turn-based RPG Epic Seven are announced! The balance patch is scheduled to take place on 27th October, well after the Triumph Season for Guild Wars has started to give players ample time to prepare for the balance changes. In the list of heroes targeted for this month’s balance patch are the likes of Remnant Violet and Top Model Luluca who have been missing the action since Hwayoung came into the game and wreaked havoc on the meta. Epic Seven has been the fan-favorite gacha game for players looking for an anime-stylized 2D RPG on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. 

This balance patch for the month of October 2022 will be implemented on 27th October 2022 after the server reset. As per usual, the list of heroes and artifacts that are going to be undergoing buffs and bug fixes is massive. Here is a summary of the heroes that are included in this balance patch:

Remnant Violet

Remnant Violet will see the following Balance changes in his skills:

Sword Flash (1st skill) – Cuts the enemy, with a 75% chance to decrease Hit Chance for 1 turn. 

Soulburn effect added – Grants an extra turn.

Concentration (Before Awakened) – At the end of the caster’s turn, has a 100% chance to increase the Evasion of the caster for 1 turn. After successfully evading, gains 1 Focus. When Focus is at 5 after attacking or being attacked, he consumes it all and uses Massacre against a random enemy. 

Concentration (Awakened) – At the start of the battle and at the end of the caster’s turn, has a 100% chance to increase the Evasion of the caster for 1 turn. After successfully evading, gains 1 Focus. When Focus is at 5 after attacking or being attacked, he consumes it all and uses Massacre against a random enemy.

Massacre (3rd skill) – Increases Attack of the caster for 3 turns, before attacking with a sword. Penetrates Defense by 50%. The cooldown of this skill is reduced to 5 turns. The Soulburn effect has been removed from this ability.

Remnant Violet has long been known as the go-to hero to pick against tanky Light elemental heroes due to his heavy defense penetration 3rd ability that has the potential to 1-shot many Light heroes. However, with new heroes like Hwayoung that deal with such heroes better due to her MAX HP scaling damage, heroes like Remnant Violet were forced to be picked as a gimmick to make use of his evasion. Hwayoung nerfs and now these Remnant Violet buffs look like a way to get him back into the meta by Smilegate.

Top Model Luluca

Top Model Luluca will see the following Balance changes in her skills:

Victory Pose (Before Awakened) – Manifests the suit’s energy, increasing the Combat Readiness of all allies by 20%. Grants the caster an extra turn.

Victory Pose (Awakened) – Manifests the suit’s energy, increasing the Combat Readiness of all allies by 20% and increasing the Attack of the caster for 2 turns. Grants the caster an extra turn.

Demolish (3rd skill) – Attacks the enemy with dimensional energy, before granting the caster stealth for 2 turns, and increases Attack of all allies except for the caster for 2 turns. When the enemy is defeated, inflicts extinction and decreases the caster’s skill cooldown by 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s Speed.

Top Model Luluca’s Imprint Concentration (After) – Critical Hit Chance +5.6%~16.8%

Often considered a weaker version of Milim, Top Model Luluca’s pick rate was abysmally low in the previous World Arena RTA season where she was picked barely 0.35% times. These buffs to Top Model Luluca seem to be great as she will now be able to provide an Attack buff to all allies while buffing their combat readiness by an extra 5%. The main appreciated change, however, will be the critical chance imprint upgrade from the previous Attack% imprint.

Pirate Captain Flan

Pirate Captain Flan will see the following Balance changes in her skills:

Execution (1st skill) – Attacks the enemy with a gun, with a 75% chance to steal one buff. At the end of the turn, detonates burn, and bomb effects are inflicted on the target.

Scourge of the Sea (2nd skill) – Effectiveness increases by 50%. When attacking, cannot trigger a critical hit.  Redirects 30% of damage suffered by the caster to the foremost ally. When more than one damage-sharing effect is granted, only the strongest effect is applied. After using Execution, when the caster has a buff, activates Hunt. Hunt can only be activated once every 2 turns. Hunt: Raises the morale of all allies, increasing Combat Readiness by 15%. 

Full Burst (Before Awakened) – Increases Attack of the caster for 3 turns and attacks all enemies with a barrage of cannon fire, inflicting burn and planting a bomb for 2 turns before decreasing Combat Readiness by 30%.

Full Burst (After Awakened) – Increases Attack of the caster for 3 turns and attacks all enemies with a barrage of cannon fire, inflicting burn and planting a bomb for 2 turns before decreasing Combat Readiness by 30%. Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 50%.

Vildred

Vildred will see the following Balance changes in his skills:

Sweep (1st skill) – Rapidly attacks two enemies with a swordstorm. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s Speed. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased.

Dancing Blade (Before Awakened) Increases Attack of the caster for 2 turns and activates Dancing Blade when an enemy is defeated by Sweep or Blade Ascent. Dancing Blade (Acquire 1 Soul): Attacks all enemies with a swordstorm. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased.

Dancing Blade (After Awakened) – Increases Attack of the caster for 2 turns and activates Dancing Blade when an enemy is defeated by Sweep or Blade Ascent.

Increases Combat Readiness of the caster by 20% when an enemy is defeated. Dancing Blade (Acquire 1 Soul): Attacks all enemies with a swordstorm. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased.

Blade Ascent (3rd skill) – Attacks all enemies with a swordstorm, dealing damage proportional to the caster’s Speed. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased.

Zahhak

Zahhak will see the following Balance changes in his skills:

Elaborate Plan (3rd skill) – Dispels two debuffs from an ally and the caster, before increasing the Combat Readiness of the ally by 15%. Grants an extra turn to the caster.

Skill Enhancements (Changed)

+1: +1% Combat Readiness

+2: +1% Combat Readiness

+3: +1% Combat Readiness

+4: +1% Combat Readiness

Luluca

Luluca will see the following Balance changes in her skills:

Wave of Vengeance (Before Awakened)– Attacks all enemies with the power of ruin, with a 100% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns.

Wave of Vengeance (After Awakened) – Attacks all enemies with the power of ruin, with a 100% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns, before increasing the caster’s Attack. Increased Attacks can stack up to 3 times.

Bad Cat Armin

Bad Cat Armin will see the following Balance changes in her skills:

Are You Ready?! (1st skill) – Attacks the enemy with a giant shield, with a 45% chance to provoke for 1 turn. Damage dealt increases proportional to the caster’s max Health. When used on the caster’s turn, Are You Ready?! changes into an attack that targets all enemies. The changed attack does not trigger a Dual Attack.

Catch ‘Em! (2nd skill) – After being attacked, has a 50% chance to increase the Critical Hit Damage of the foremost ally for 1 turn, before making the foremost ally counterattack. When attacked by an enemy inflicted with provoking or redirected provoke, the effect chance is doubled. Cannot be triggered by extra attacks or counterattacks.

Is This It?! Nyahaha! (Before Awakened) – Attacks the enemy with a huge explosion, provoking for 1 turn. Grants a barrier to all allies for 2 turns. Damage dealt and barrier strength increases proportionally to the caster’s max Health. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased. The cooldown of this skill is reduced from 4 turns to 3 turns. This skill will now give 2 souls to the user instead of 3.

Soulburn effect (changed) – Provokes for 2 turns.

Is This It?! Nyahaha! (After Awakened) – Attacks the enemy with a huge explosion, provoking for 1 turn. Increases Defense to the caster for 2 turns, and grants a barrier to all allies for 2 turns. Damage dealt and barrier strength increases proportionally to the caster’s max Health. The overall damage dealt by this skill has been increased. The cooldown of this skill is reduced from 4 turns to 3 turns. This skill will now give 2 souls to the user instead of 3.

Soulburn effect (changed) – Provokes for 2 turns.

Jena

Jena will see the following Balance changes in her skills:

Cold Blow – Attacks with a staff, with a 35% chance to stun for 1 turn.

Coerce (Before Awakened) – Casts weakening magic, with a 100% chance to decrease buff durations of all enemies by 1 turn.

Skill Enhancements (Changed)

+1: +5% effect chance

+2: +10% effect chance

+3: -1 turn cooldown

+4: +10% effect chance

Coerce (After Awakened) – Casts weakening magic, with a 100% chance to decrease buff durations of all enemies by 1 turn, before granting immunity to all allies for 2 turns.

Soulburn effect added – Consumes 20 soul to grant an extra turn to the user.

Skill Enhancements (Changed)

+1: +5% effect chance

+2: +10% effect chance

+3: -1 turn cooldown

+4: +10% effect chance

Cold Snap (Awakened) – Attacks all enemies with frost magic, with a 75% chance to decrease Defense for 2 turns before a 100% chance to decrease Combat Readiness by 20%.

The Soulburn effect has been removed from this skill.

Alabastron

Alabastron, the 5-Star artifact is getting changed in the following way:

Description: Increases Effectiveness by 35%. After attacking with a Single Attack, has a 35-70% chance to inflict a random debuff on the target for 2 turns. Can only be activated once per turn. (Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense, Decrease Speed, or Unhealable)

Chatty

Chatty, the 5-Star artifact is getting changed in the following way:

Description: At the start of the battle, grants a barrier for 2 turns. After being attacked, has a 50-100% chance to be granted a barrier for 2 turns when the caster’s Health is 50% or less. Barrier strength is proportional to the caster’s Attack. The effect after being attacked can only be activated once every 2 turns. The overall barrier strength is getting increased.
