Exos Heroes – Season 5 Update Game Revamp
Exos Heroes is a popular 3D RPG developed and published by Line Games. Exos Heroes is free to download and available to play globally on both mobile platforms – Android and iOS. The game recently announced the details for its massive Season 5 update which discusses all the upcoming changes coming to Exos Heroes. This update aims to completely revamp the game’s base gameplay system and change how the game is played in general. All the progress for all the existing players is going to be reset but all players will be compensated according to how far they were in-game as well as the development of their heroes.
Before we begin, let’s give a brief introduction to Exos Heroes. The game features unique heroes from different factions who are represented by their beautiful 3D artwork and models in-game. The game features a turn-based combat system and takes on a unique take with different game modes to give players more content. The game features over 170 different characters and over 14 chapters worth of story mode.
In Season 5 update, there are in general 3 major changes coming to the game which we will be going in-depth on:
- Hero Stats and Skills Balancing
- Hero Enhance Systems
- Equipment System
Each of these areas will be discussed so that the players do not get confused regarding the massive changes.
Hero Stats and Skills Balancing
Starting, the hero stats are changed to decrease the complexity of the game for all players. The changes are as follows:
- Attack ? Attack
- Defense ? Defense
- Health ? Health
- Attack Speed ? Attack Speed
- Critical Hit ? Critical Hit Rate
- Critical Damage ? Critical Damage
- Hit ? Accuracy
- Block Stat removed
- Block Value Stat removed
- Luck Stat removed
- Effect Hit Stat added (Chance to apply a debuff to the opponent)
- Effect Resist Stat added (Chane to resist a debuff from incoming skills)
- Double-Team Stat added (Chance to perform a dual attack with an ally when a hero uses it’s a basic skill)
Apart from these stat changes, all the heroes’ skills and stats are also balanced out and will now reflect the stats based on the new changes. All the existing equipment can still be used but they will no longer provide value apart from the base stat. Hence, players will need to farm and grind for new equipment which will contain the new sets and stats. We will discuss this later when we go to Equipment changes.
Heroes Guardian Stone system is being completely removed. This means all the abilities to change the Guardian Stone of a hero are also being removed. All players will be refunded based on their investments.
Hero Enhancement / Hero Awakening / Hero Element Enhancement has been removed, reducing the hero growth process. This indicated the following changes:
- Hero Enhancement System Removed (Consuming a duplicate copy of hero or spirit to increase its stats)
- Hero Awakening System Removed (Awakening materials are consumed to give the hero an awakening bonus effect and conditions for wearing rank equipment)
- Hero Element Enhancement System removed (By consuming element enhancing materials, an additional guardian stone destruction effect is given to the hero)
- Hero Blessing System Changed ? It is possible to increase the Star rating of the hero by consuming blessing materials. It works only if the hero has achieved the highest level of its current Star rating.
- Hero Level Up System remains unchanged.
- Hero Transcendence System remains unchanged.
All of the growth values and growth effects of heroes that have already undergone Hero Enhancement / Hero Awakening / Hero Attribute Enhancement will be removed.
The materials consumed for the removed hero enhancement/hero awakening/hero attribute enhancement will be refunded.
Apart from the Hero stat changes, the nationalities of various heroes have been changed to suit the game balance needs. For the sake of longevity, we will not list all the changes but only some of the important ones regarding the heroes who are in meta:
- Sefer ? Lenombe to Saint West
- Yorm ? Lenombe to Burnn
- Zarienne ? Lenombe to Saint West
- Fergie ? Lenombe to Green Land
- Nero ? Green Land to Saint West
- Tantalo ? Green Land to Saint West
- Luke ? Estoris Republic to Saint West
- Minea ? Estoris Republic to Burnn
Hero Enhance Systems
Players could easily enhance their heroes previously using the various systems present in the game. This led to imbalance and created some pay-to-win situations. To balance it out the developers have completely revamped some of the core enhancement systems of which we talked about in the section above. Some other systems which were controversial like Signature Force are also being revamped.
Signature Force will be divided into 4 different steps and each step consists of 4 enhancements. Players can feed duplicate signature heroes of every nation to empower the stats of the particular hero or all heroes of that nation. The stat bonuses achieved after every enhancement Step is as follows:
Signature Force Step 1
- Enhancement 1 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 2 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 3 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack Speed 16
- Enhancement 4 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
Signature Force Step 2
- Enhancement 1 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 2 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 3 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack Speed 16
- Enhancement 4 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
Signature Force Step 3
- Enhancement 1 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 2 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 3 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack Speed 16
- Enhancement 4 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
Signature Force Step 4
- Enhancement 1 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 2 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
- Enhancement 3 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack Speed 16
- Enhancement 4 – Adds to heroes from nationalities Attack 150/ Defense 300/ HP 1775
This continues the same way till Step 4; hence 16 total enhancements can be made.
Equipment Changes
The equipment system is being totally revamped to make the game feel fresh and to induce more synergy between units. This was a tough decision as it meant rendering all the current types of equipment useless for the game but the developers felt it was necessary for the longevity of the game in mind. Players can currently completely recall their heroes and equipment to get the invested resources back. They will get new resources instead which they can use to craft the new equipment in the Forge. We will first talk about the new equipment and the Sets they use currently. Consider this change similar to what Epic Seven does with their Equipment using Sets.
- Breaker Set – Increases Attack by 45%
- Fortification Set – Increases Defense by 20%
- Vitality Set – Increases Health by 20%
- Dash Set – Increases Speed by 25%
- Critical Set – Increases Critical Hit Rate by 12%
- Sniper Set – Increases Effect Hit Rate by 20%
- Destruction Set – Increases Critical Damage by 40%
- Resistance Set – Increases Effect Resistance by 20%
- Red Blood Set – Recovers HP by 20% of the damage dealt when attacking
- Retaliation Set – Counters with a 30% upon receiving damage
Apart from the Sets, the stats on the equipment will also be rigid and fixed. For example, the weapon will only grant Attack, Helmet will only grant Health and Armor will only grant Defense. Here are the various stats on equipment that are possible to get after this Season 5 update:
Weapon – Attack (Flat)
Gloves – Attack (Flat)/ Defense (Flat)/ Health (Flat)/ Attack (%)/ Defense (%)/ Health (%)/ Critical Hit Rate (%)/ Critical Damage (%)
Accessory – Attack (Flat)/ Defense (Flat)/ Health (Flat)/ Attack (%)/ Defense (%)/ Health (%)/ Effect Hit Rate (%)/ Effect Resistance (%)
Helmet – Health (Flat)
Armor – Defense (Flat)
Boots – Attack (Flat)/ Defense (Flat)/ Health (Flat)/ Attack (%)/ Defense (%)/ Health (%)/ Attack Speed
Equipment Enhancing will also be making a change where players will now have to use either other equipment or new enhancement materials to enhance their equipment. The enhancement level increases when proceeding with the enhancement and the equipment’s main option and sub-option increase depending on the enhancement level. The equipment’s main option increases as the enhancement level increases. A change occurs in the equipment sub-option depending on the equipment grade depending on every +3 / +6 /+9 / +12 / +15 of enhancement level.
