Understanding the Summoning System
ALICE Fiction is a hero collector game where players need to summon their favorite characters through an intricate gacha system. The system is aptly termed “Gacha” in the official in-game term. The Gacha tab is located on the left-hand side of the main menu. Players will be able to unlock this gacha tab after they complete the initial tutorial. Inside this tab, players will be able to see different types of summoning banners where each of the banners provides access to different types of heroes. Keep in mind that players need to summon heroes as well as World Memories in ALICE Fiction. Hence, the summoning banners are also divided between heroes and World Memories. We will also not be listing the paid banners where players can only summon using the purchased premium currency. Currently, the main banners that a new player will see are as follows:
- Infinite Summoning Gacha (1-time) – This type of gacha banner is used for summoning 1-3 Star heroes infinitely at the start of the game. It is very helpful for players trying to reroll. Keep in mind that players are guaranteed a 3-Star in every summon made on this banner but are limited to only 1 3-Star hero per 10 summons made. Players do not need to use any summoning currencies to make summons on this banner.
- Featured Gacha – This type of gacha banner is used for summoning 1–3-star heroes. The featured hero will have a higher chance of being summoned if players are able to summon a 3-Star hero.
- Featured W.M – This type of gacha banner is used for summoning 3-5-star World Memories. The featured World Memory will have a higher chance of being summoned if players are able to summon a 5-Star World Memory.
- Rare Gacha – This type of gacha banner is used for summoning 1–3-star heroes. All the heroes currently present in the game are available to be summoned on this banner.
- Rare W.M Gacha – This type of gacha banner is used for summoning 3-5-star World Memories. All the World Memories that are present in the game are available to be summoned on this banner.
- Normal Gacha – This type of summoning banner is used for summoning only enhancing materials to make your heroes and World Memories stronger.
The featured heroes gacha banner is one of the best banners to summon in the game for new players as it also comes with its own pity system. However, to truly understand the summoning system, we must go more in-depth into the heroes of the game. ALICE Fiction offers the different rarity of heroes at different probabilities of being summoned in all of the gacha banners. In the system, the highest rarity of heroes has the lowest probability of being summoned while the lowest rarity of heroes has the highest probability of being summoned.
The rate of summoning all rarities of heroes is as follows:
- 3-Star Characters – 2.5% Probability of being summoned
- 2-Star Characters – 18% Probability of being summoned
- 1-Star Characters – 79.5% Probability of being summoned
Players require different types of summoning currencies to summon on different summoning banners.
The different currencies which are used during summons in the Summon system are:
- Free Quartz – Free Quartz is the currency that is used for summoning on the free banners that do not require paid quartz. Players require 300 Free Quartz for a single summons or 3000 Free Quartz for 10 summons on any gacha banner.
- Paid Quartz – Paid Quartz is the currency that is used for summoning on the paid banners that only accept Paid Quartz. Players require 300 Paid Quartz for a single summons or 3000 Paid Quartz for 10 summons on any gacha banner.
Understanding The Currencies
New players who are coming to Argent Twilight will be thrown in turmoil as the game has a steep learning curve. One of the obstacles is the different types of currencies that are given to you as you start your journey. Understanding the importance and usage of these different currencies is extremely important for the player as they decide the pace of progression you will be making in your starting days. These currencies can be seen in the middle of the main menu and are as follows:
- Energy
- Quartz
- Credits
Energy is like the Stamina currency present in other similar titles which require players to repeatedly grind the stages. Players will use Energy whenever they want to participate in any of the PvE game modes present in ALICE Fiction. The main objective in the early game of ALICE Fiction is to grind through the main story and increase your player rank to unlock more features and increase your hero level cap. The energy points automatically refill over time at a set limit. Players can also get Energy through different rewards in events, quests, etc. Apart from that, they can also recharge energy instantaneously using their Quartz at the rate of 120 Energy for 80 Rubies.
Quartz is the premium currency of ALICE Fiction and they are primarily used for summoning heroes in the Summon system. Players can directly use their accumulated quartz to summon heroes on the different gacha banners. Players can get Quartz from several sources such as pre-registration rewards, daily missions, new player missions, main story stages, event stages, etc. Players can also use their Quartz to purchase Energy or Credits. Players can recharge Quartz by spending their real-life money through microtransactions.
Credit is one of the most abundantly available currencies in ALICE Fiction. It can be compared to the Gold currency in other similar games. It is abundant since it’s required in a large quantity and in almost all of the processes to empower your heroes. Players will be greeted with lots of Credits as they start the game from achievements, quests, new player growth missions, log-in rewards, main story stage rewards, etc.
Understanding the Combat Mechanics of ALICE Fiction
To understand the combat mechanics of ALICE Fiction, we must understand how we approach the battles as they begin. Firstly, the battles in Alice Fiction are not that hard to learn or master since the game is supposed to be a fun and casual game. There lies some strategy but the majority of the battles are decided by the power of heroes that every player has. Players can refer to a tier list for Alice Fiction to get a better understanding of the best heroes in the game. In the tutorial, the game does give every new player a premise of what to do in order to win the battles. Firstly, the players need to make a formation of 4 main heroes and their accompanying World Memories to equip to them. Players can do this by going to the Party tab on the main menu. In case you are confused about which heroes to choose in your formation, a helpful “Optimize Party” feature is also present where the AI automatically chooses the best heroes and world memories that you own.
The combat mechanics of ALICE Fiction play out in a classic turn-based order where each side gets to take their own turns. Keep in mind that individuals’ heroes or enemies do not take turns but the whole formation collectively takes their turn. Players are given a specific amount of time to choose the best colored spaces located below their heroes. These colored tiles reflect the attack/skill of your heroes. Players can combine them to launch a higher order of skill. The crash skill or ultimate skill of all heroes can be activated by clicking on the “skill” button near their portrait. Generally, in PvE content, you are given the first turn.
Make your Heroes Stronger in ALICE Fiction
Getting your heroes stronger is one of the core objectives of any player starting out in ALICE Fiction. Using better quality heroes is one way to advance in the game but upgrading heroes can even make the lower rarity heroes somewhat powerful. To enhance your heroes, the process is quite simple. Go to the Heroes tab in order to view your collected heroes.
In this section, players will find different ways to power up their hero. Here is a brief explanation of all the systems present in ALICE Fiction to strengthen your heroes:
- Leveling Up
- Grade
- Skills
- Rarity
- World Memory
Leveling Up is one of the best methods to increase the power level of your heroes. This is because leveling up directly increases the base stats of your heroes and in turn increases your Combat Power (CP) incrementally. Players can increase the levels of their heroes using the different rarity EXP materials that are found in the main story stages, and through the EXP resource stages. Keep in mind that the max level of any hero is equal to the current rank of the player. Hence, to increase the level of your heroes, players need to also increase their player rank.
Grade are those attributes of any hero that are important to them and are equivalent to their base stats. Over the duration of time and as players grind the main story stages, they will acquire different materials like shoes, necklaces, vests, etc that are required to upgrade the grade of any hero. Each upgrade costs a certain amount of Credit amount. The grades come in different levels as well. With each grade level, the cost to upgrade and the rarity of item increases. The grade increases the following stats of all heroes:
- HP x 3
- Physical Attack x 2
- Physical Defense x 2
- Special Defense x 1
Skills of all heroes can be upgraded as well to provide some better damage numbers or utility effects. All skills are upgraded using Credits. The higher the skill level upgrade, the more Credits it will cost the player.
A rarity in ALICE Fiction refers to the actual Star level of the hero. Keep in mind that this is different from the base star level of any hero. For example, 3-Star heroes are different from 1-Star heroes that are promoted to 3-Star. Players can promote heroes to increase their base stats and provide some more stat buffs to them. They will require the champion fragments of the particular hero that they want to promote.
World Memories are those cards that can be either acquired through summoning on W.M gacha banners or through events, new player growth missions, etc. World Memories add extra stats to the heroes that they are equipped to and come in different rarities. They add stats but do not add to the base stats of heroes. Hence, they are additive and not multiplicative. Players can add World Memories to heroes from the formation tab.
Missions and Rewards in ALICE Fiction
Missions in ALICE Fiction are one of the main sources of freebies and rewards in the game. Players go to the Missions tab by clicking on the middle section at the bottom side of the main menu. Players can earn some juicy rewards by completing quests that reset Daily as well as the new player growth missions.
