Archero 2, the much-awaited sequel to the highly popular roguelike single player RPG Archero, recently released last year. The developers have added many new characters, and game modes for players to enjoy for longer periods of time. The sequel also features new game bosses, minion types, and skills that enhance the depth of the game. For budding archers, this guide will serve the purpose of fuelling your adventures with more efficiency and tact as we have shared multiple helpful tips and tricks. Check them out below!

Tip #1. Choosing the Right Character

One of the more distinguishable factors with Archero 2 is the addition of more characters. Say goodbye to base character design, as you can now unlock new custom themed characters, each with a unique playstyle and build path. Some characters like Dracoola and Otta are vastly more powerful than basic characters you start with like Alex. Unlocking these stronger characters also helps you play more tactfully since all characters gain certain boosts at different levels. At the time of writing, a total of 6 characters are playable, and have unique boosts. 

If you love playing the early game well, and want to level up faster, consider choosing Alex. Or, if you want a higher critical hit rate and crit damage that can instantly melt enemies, choose Otta. Dracoola is a great option for a balanced and sustainable playstyle as his perks allow him to heal HP according to the damage he deals to enemies. 

Tip #2. Be Smart in your Choices!

First things first, Archero 2 demands equal input in terms of strategy as in your manual skill output. This means that you need to think simultaneously as you maneuver your character and dodge those skill shots. Take advantage of your surroundings to dodge skill shots or render your foes useless by launching traps. Further, after each level up, you are given a choice to either upgrade existing skills, gain a new skill, or upgrade your stats. This is a personalized decision, but we would recommend upgrading your stats or choosing new skills as a beginner. This will help you survive longer, and increase your damage over time, thanks to new abilities. 

Tip #3. Dodge, Grind, and DODGE!

Grinding is required if you want to complete the stages. You can easily go to stage 4 or even 5 within the first few hours of gameplay, and it is advised that you do so. The more you advance, the better your AFK rewards will be, and as a result, you will progress even while AFK. To set yourself up for success right away, attempt to pass the first 4 stages at least. That is when you will gain access to new features and receive somewhat better drops. However, the drops are entirely dependent on your luck, so be mindful of that. In short, you will need to grind harder in the sequel than the prequel if you want access to more character and unique builds.

Tip #4. Use Multiple Talent Cards to Empower Your Characters! 

Talent Cards are like equip-able passives. They give you bonus stats and can be enhanced if you find duplicates. These cards are available in a variety of qualities, and as you might expect, the Common ones are the most easily upgraded. Purchasing more Talent Cards with Gold becomes more expensive as you purchase more, thus you will eventually spend the majority of your Gold on this. Later on, when you don’t have any better gear to upgrade, you’ll wind up spending all of your Gold on drawing new cards. Currently, players can only get Talent Cards via the classic draw.

Tip #5. Make Mindful Purchases from the Shop

Archero 2 is a live-service game, and of course there are multiple avenues for growth, including microtransactions from the in-game shop. However, the Shop also holds some hidden gems for free-to-play players. These items can be purchased via using your owned Gems, the freemium currency. We would advise looking out for character shards, scrolls, and high-quality gear pieces from the Daily shop. This shop refreshes after some time, so make sure to check it on a daily basis. Out of all the items, character shards should be your #1 purchase priority from the shop.
