Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas Marriage System Explained
One of the particularities of the new Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas gacha RPG is that, in contrast with other games in the genre, there’s a larger focus on clans and lineage, over individual heroes and characters. In this sense, you’ll be spending a lot of your time unlocking multiple duplicate characters within specific clans in order to create the best teams in the game. Furthermore, once you actually unlock a few good characters, you might find that they might have a few traits that could still be improved, which is exactly where the marriage system comes in.
There is a lot to consider when it comes to learning the basics in Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas. Luckily, we’ve created a beginner’s guide where you can read up on everything you need to know to get a good start. Similarly, we’ve also shared a few useful Bloodline tips and tricks to speed up your progress. This time around, however, we wanted to give a brief overview of the marriage system, so that you can learn how to optimize your characters once you’ve unlocked a few good units.
What is the Marriage System in Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas?
Unlocked after beating stage 3-20, the marriage system is where you can take a powerful champion and espouse them with another unit to have them retire permanently from your roster. And while you’ll lose the newlywed couple of champions forever, you will have their offspring join your ranks. These children, in turn, will inherit the stats of their parents, as well as two of their traits.
The result of the union will always be a copy of the main champion, along with their same stats and even their current level and gear. The only difference is that marriage lets you play around with the main champion’s traits, and optimize them with the ones of the spouse champion. In this sense, the marriage system is a way to optimize your best characters by removing unwanted traits from the main champion, and replacing them with a trait of the spouse champion.
How to Use the Marriage System
First off, you have to beat the required stages of the main campaign, which can be quite tricky if you’re new. Moreover, once unlocked, you also need to acquire a Wedding Ring, an item obtained from the store for 500 gems. This item is required for every single union, as you won’t be able to marry champions without it. In this sense, with the ring in your inventory, you can now go to the Royal Hall to marry your champions.
The marriage process is simple:
- Choose the champion you wish to optimize as the “main champion”.
- Choose the character that has the desired traits as the “spouse champion”.
- Choose the trait of the main champion that you want to replace, and click on “Marry”.
- After the process has finished, you will lose both champions, but receive a copy of the main champion, without the unwanted trait, and with a new inherited trait from the spouse champion.
The marriage system in Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas is more a way to optimize your best units, rather than something that you’ll be using frequently, particularly since each one of these will set you back 500 gems for purchasing the ring. Nevertheless, once your units are completely upgraded, this is a way to add the finishing touches to an otherwise great champion.
