Understand the Core Game Mechanics of DC: Dark Legion

DC: Dark Legion™ is an action-packed roguelike game wherein you are transported to a mission location and must fulfill all the duties to protect people and defeat the enemies. Each mission has different puzzle solving mechanics that you do in a semi open environment. The actual battles take place in a turn-based order mixed with real-time dodging mechanics. Players can send out up to 5 heroes from the DC franchise to combat enemies. Each hero has 2 bars – a green HP bar and a blue energy bar. The green bar determines your current health of the hero, and if it falls to 0, they will be defeated permanently, unable to be used for the current mission.

The blue bar fills up every time your heroes deal or take damage from enemies. Once full, you can click on their portraits at the bottom right-hand side to activate their ultimate abilities. Some enemies will also use large-scale projectiles that you can dodge by simply clicking on your hero and moving their position to dodge it. Your heroes will automatically attack the nearest target, or you can choose the targeted enemy by tapping on them. The combat system also has many quality-of-life features such as 2X battle speed and auto-battling that unlock after you reach a certain point in the main storyline.

Recruit Unique DC Champions to Serve as your Aid!

New players who are not aware of how gacha games work might first be confused as to how you can get champions in the game. Champions are your DC themed heroes that can be recruited via the in-game gacha system that unlocks after you complete the initial tutorial. Players can recruit heroes of multiple classes and rarities using your collected premium currency. The higher the rarity of the hero, the tougher it is to recruit them as they are available at obscurely low rates. The highest rarity of champions is legendary, while the lowest is Rare.

Depending on the rarity of the champion, they are further classified as weak or strong. Avoid investing too many resources in champions given to you at the beginning as they are inherently weak with low base stats, thanks to their low rarity. Each champion in DC: Dark Legion™ has access to multiple unique active and passive abilities. Active abilities are those who need to be triggered and have a cooldown timer according to which they can use these abilities again. Passive abilities on the other hand remain active throughout the duration of battles and do not have a cooldown timer.

Power Up your Champions with Multiple Growth Systems

Like we said before, DC: Dark Legion™ closely follows many of the standard RPG tropes seen in similar games such as hero empowerment. Players can power up their owned champions through different processes to enhance their base stats and grant them additional abilities. Some of the core ways to power-up your champions include:

  • Levelling Up – All champions, regardless of their rarity, can be levelled up to gain additional base stats. These stats are in terms of Attack, Defense, and Health. Players can take the champions they want to level up in battles and they will gain some experience. On the other hand, you can also directly level them up using EXP potions of differing rarities. Levelling up not only increases your champions power level but also your overall account CP (Combat Power).
  • Upgrading Star Count – All champions in DC: Dark Legion™ are given a base star count, according to which their rarity is decided. For example, legendary rarity champions start at 5-stars as their base star count. Players can increase this star count by consuming shards of the same champion. This requires some luck as you will need to obtain duplicate copies of the same champion. Overall, this is an expensive process and not recommended for new players who are free-to-play oriented. However, it is still a great way to unlock more abilities and upgrade hero stats.
  • Gearing Up – In addition to leveling up, you may increase the efficacy of your heroes by equipping them with strong gear pieces. During the early phases, you can get gear by cleaning hideouts. Once you’ve unlocked crafting in your base, you can start crafting your own stuff. Gear pieces and gear sets come in varying rarities. Depending on the rarity of the gear piece, they can have main stats and sub-stats. A higher rarity gear piece will have more sub-stats on top of the main stat from the beginning.

Players can enjoy playing DC: Dark Legion™ on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
