Among all of the anime-inspired mobile RPGs, Dragon Ball Legends has got to have one of the best combat systems, combining action-packed gameplay and strategy in one exciting package. The game has a really high skill ceiling which can take players weeks or months of practice to perfect, especially during PvP. The game will definitely leave players entertained for a while simply because of how enjoyable the fighting experience is here compared to other games.
The combat system in Dragon Ball Legends makes you think that this is some kind of console or PC game because of how fast-paced everything is. Learning the combat system should be the player’s number one priority because it’s the best way to improve in the game and get a higher win rate. Simply owning strong characters isn’t enough to win in this game, as even the most experienced players can dominate the ranked ladder using characters like Yamcha in their lineup.
Story Mode
The story mode is the main feature in the game. It introduces a brand-new storyline in the Dragon Ball saga using characters from different timelines that are found in the original show. Additionally, there are some new characters that were introduced purely for the sake of the game. These characters are considered canon to the original universe to explain the origins of the saiyans and their associated powers through the stories of Shallot and Giblet – ancient members of their kind.
Playing the story mode is important for unlocking key features in the game such as the PvP Mode, Tournament of Power, and Hyperdimensional Co-op. If you’re not interested in following the narrative, it’s still a requirement that players continue with the story mode so that they can play more game modes. Important things like equipment, experience, and other things can also be acquired by playing certain stages in the story mode to further upgrade your character’s power level.
Events
Like every other mobile game, events play a key role in keeping the game new and fresh for players, especially if they plan on keeping it relevant for the long-term. Following and participating in events isn’t just good fun, it’s extremely rewarding. The amount of freebies that the player earns when completing certain tasks make their participation so worth it. It is recommended that players always try to complete events to acquire stuff that can only be earned during that time period.
Most events only last for 1-2 weeks, but sometimes they can last up to a month. As such, players only have a limited amount of time before they lose out on all of the amazing things that they can get from the event. If you’re a beginner, you’re probably grinding the story mode to unlock all of the additional content first, but that shouldn’t prevent you from trying these events out anyway. Even if you don’t have plans to complete them 100%, make sure to at least try them out, since there will be more events in the future.
PvP Arena
The PvP arena is probably the main feature for competitive players. While the story mode and events can be fun, some people may want to test their team’s strength and progress by competing against other players who have also been training and collecting strong units for the sake of PvP. It takes a lot of hard work and patience to play well in PvP because the mechanics involved aren’t just learned overnight. After all, some players have been competing and learning since the game’s initial launch three years ago.
Playing against other people serves as a decent measure of how much you’ve improved as a player. Even though a lot of players complain that the pay-to-win players have the significant advantage in combat due to having better units, learning how to fight is still the most reliable way to win games against other players. The only question that you should have as a beginner is whether or not you plan on climbing the top of the rankings to compete against the best of the best in epic combats!
