Epic Seven Beginner's Hunt Guide – Wyvern, Golem, Banshee, and Azimanak
Epic Seven is an anime-stylized turn-based RPG that had captivated millions of players worldwide with stunning animations and graphics. The game is celebrating their 6th anniversary in fashion, giving out tons of rewards for completing simple missions and quests. One of the primary concerns as a new player is getting your hands on legendary gear in the game. The 4 hunts – Wyvern, Golem, Banshee, and Azimanak should be your core focus in the beginning of the game. To keep the guide more new player friendly, we are not including the gear sets from Caides Hunt as it demands a rigid team composition.
Wyvern Hunt Guide
The Wyvern Hunt is one of the most critical and popular hunts in Epic Seven due to the high demand for Speed set gear. It’s also the most farmed content by players looking to enhance their heroes’ equipment. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you efficiently farm Wyvern Hunts, from understanding its mechanics to optimizing your team and gear. Here are the core mechanics associated with the hunt:
Barrier Mechanic: Every few turns, the Wyvern will cast a barrier on itself. You need to deal damage that exceeds the barrier’s value to break it. Failure to break the barrier will result in the Wyvern dealing heavy damage to your team.
Debuff Requirement: Wyvern’s attack pattern includes targeting the front-line hero unless a specific number of debuffs (usually 2 or more) are applied to it. If there are enough debuffs, the Wyvern will instead use its weaker attack pattern.
Single Target vs. AOE: Wyvern is most susceptible to single-target damage rather than AoE attacks. High-damage single-target heroes with debuffs are favored for this hunt.
Defense Penetration: The Wyvern has high defense, so heroes with defense penetration abilities are particularly effective.
Wyvern 13 Team Composition
Tank: Absorbs damage from the Wyvern, typically Ice-element for reduced damage.
Debuffer: Applies multiple debuffs to the Wyvern to manage its attack patterns and break its barrier.
Damage Dealer (DPS): Deals significant single-target damage to break the Wyvern’s barrier and defeat it quickly.
Support/Healer: Provides healing, buffs, or additional debuffs.
Wyvern 13 Sample Teams
Here are some core Wyvern 13 teams used frequently by players:

Golem Hunt Guide
The Golem Hunt in Epic Seven is a crucial source for Health (HP), Defense (DEF), and Counter (CRT) set equipment, which is essential for tanky heroes and certain bruiser-style damage dealers. While the Golem Hunt is less popular than the Wyvern Hunt, it’s still valuable for farming specific gear sets for certain team compositions and heroes. Here are the core mechanics associated with the hunt:
Elemental Weakness: Golem is an Earth-element boss, so Fire-element heroes are preferred for both offensive and defensive reasons.
Frontline Damage Focus: The Golem primarily targets the front-line hero, so you need a durable tank who can sustain repeated hits.
Healing Reduction: Golem applies a healing reduction debuff, which makes pure healers less effective. This means mitigation (shields, defense buffs) and self-sustain abilities (like lifesteal) are valuable.
Adds: Golem is accompanied by two minions:
- Cyllid: A water-elemental enemy that can inflict debuffs.
- Flower: Provides buffs to the Golem, like increased attack and heals.
Golem 13 Team Composition
Tank: A sturdy front-liner to absorb damage.
Damage Dealers (DPS): Two or more damage dealers, preferably Fire-element, who can eliminate the adds and focus down the Golem.
Support/Healer: A support or healer who can provide heals, buffs, or shields.

Banshee Hunt Guide
The Banshee Hunt in Epic Seven is an essential source for Lifesteal, Destruction, Counter, Resist, and Unity sets. These sets are highly valuable for specific hero builds and playstyles, especially for bruisers, sustain-based heroes, and certain support units. Banshee Hunts differ significantly from other hunts like Wyvern or Golem due to the unique mechanics that require a different strategy and team composition. Here are the core mechanics associated with the hunt:
Elemental Weakness: Banshee is a Dark-element boss, making Light-element heroes less risky due to their lack of elemental disadvantage. However, heroes of any element can be used effectively.
Split Mechanic: The Banshee’s most challenging mechanic is its Split Phase. At around 50% HP, the Banshee will split into 4 minions. You must defeat all minions within a certain number of turns, or they will reform into a stronger Banshee with increased power and buffs.
Debuff Immunity and Counterattack: The Banshee often cleanses debuffs from itself and has a high chance to counterattack if attacked while in the Stealth state.
Poison Damage: Banshee can inflict poison debuffs, which deal damage over time. Having cleansing or immunity abilities is crucial to mitigate this threat.
Damage Reflection: Banshee reflects damage if attacked while in Stealth. Plan your attacks to maximize damage without triggering unnecessary counterattacks or reflection.
Banshee 13 Team Composition
Single-Target Damage Dealer (DPS): Focuses on dealing high single-target damage to quickly bring down the Banshee.
Multi-Target Damage Dealer (AoE DPS): Deals damage to multiple enemies, crucial for clearing the minions during the Split Phase.
Healer/Support: Provides healing, cleanses debuffs, or buffs your team to increase survivability and damage.
Debuffer: Applies defense breaks or other debuffs that can weaken the Banshee and minions.

Azimanak Hunt Guide
The Azimanak Hunt in Epic Seven is the primary source of Hit, Rage, Immunity, Revenge, and Injury sets, which are crucial for various PvE and PvP strategies. Azimanak Hunt is one of the more complex hunts due to its unique mechanics, including debuff management and the egg mechanic. Here are the core mechanics associated with the hunt:
Elemental Neutrality: As a Light-element boss, Azimanak has no elemental weaknesses or resistances. This means you can use heroes of any element without worrying about elemental disadvantages.
Egg Mechanic: After reaching certain HP thresholds, the Azimanak spawns a Cocoon Egg. If the egg is not destroyed in time, the boss will gain significant buffs and cleanse all debuffs.
Debuff Dependence: The Azimanak has high defense and can reduce your team’s damage output by applying debuffs. However, the boss itself is vulnerable to certain debuffs, such as Defense Break and Attack Down, which can significantly increase your team’s damage output.
Counterattacks: The Azimanak can counterattack with a debuff-clearing skill, making it essential to avoid using too many debuffs that are unnecessary or hard to maintain.
Poison and Bleed Vulnerability: The boss is susceptible to poison and bleed debuffs, which can deal consistent damage over time, making these debuffs particularly effective in this hunt.
Azimanak 13 Team Composition
Damage Dealer (DPS): Focuses on single-target damage to quickly bring down the boss.
Debuffer: Applies key debuffs like defense break and attack down to weaken the boss and mitigate incoming damage.
Healer/Cleanser: Provides healing, cleanses debuffs, or grants immunity to keep your team healthy.
Support/Damage Dealer: A flexible slot that can be used for an additional DPS, support, or utility hero depending on your strategy.
