Although the game is over a year old, many new players might be figuring out how to start their journey in the most efficient way. Do not fret, as we have covered all the basic gameplay mechanics and systems required for growth in this beginners guide. Let’s start!

Understand the Basic Gameplay Mechanics

At the core, Fairy Magic Tail: Power Awaken is a real-time Idle RPG that allows players to traverse through the different main story stages. There are multiple main and side quests lined up for the player to embark upon. Each of these quests plays an important role and guides you early on in the game, familiarizing you with the different game systems. The gameplay itself is quite one-dimensional for the first few parts. You simply go on quests and take on different bosses in the story section. As you level up, more game modes will start opening up.

Fairy Magic Tail: Power Awaken boasts both PvE and PvP game modes for the enjoyment of all types of players. There’s also a handy AFK reward mechanism in-built that allows players to reap multiple resources without even playing the game. It is akin to other Idle games but only better in terms of rewards as they scale with your progression in the main story mode. Players can choose to either auto claim when they are full or manually click on “Claim All” to get the rewards instantly. You can even spend Diamonds to get extra rewards one time per day. We would recommend doing so each day to boost your overall resource pool.

The Combat Mechanics of Fairy Magic Tail: Power Awaken Explained

The combat mechanics of Fairy Magic Tail: Power Awaken are quite straight-forward and easy to learn. The game plays in a semi-automated mode wherein you can choose the skills of your heroes or simply let the AI (Artificial Intelligence) take over. The game also features a ton of QOL (Quality-of-life) enhancing features such as 3X battle speed, and skip battles. The entire combat functions on a turn-by-turn basis wherein players can see the turn order on the left-hand side of the battle screen. You can alter this turn order by increasing your allies speed, decreasing your enemy speed, or inflicting enemies with crowd-control abilities.

The gameplay itself is quite flashy and fancy, loaded with tons of skill animations that are mesmerizing to watch and play with. Each hero has a unique set of skills. Heroes and enemies are depicted by their full-fledged 3D models that look appealing.

Mages

On your journey, perhaps the most important allies you will be looking for will be mages. These characters from the Fairy Tail universe have access to a host of interesting abilities that can change the tide of battles. Mages come in different rarities and players can obtain them either via the gacha system or through events. The higher the rarity of the Mage, the better they will perform due to increased base stats and superior abilities. And, vice versa is also true. Each Mage will have access to these 4 unique types of abilities:

  • Basic Attack: This is the core basic attack that every Mage will have. This skill does not have a cooldown and can be used in any turn.
  • Ultimate Skill: This ability is the best skill any Mage will have. It needs to be triggered manually when the ultimate bar is ready.
  • Passive Skill: This ability functions as a permanent addition to the Mage and does not need manual activation. Passive abilities are triggered even when you’re not using them.
  • Awakening Skill: This ability unlocks when you awaken the Mage. Consider it like a permanent 2nd passive skill but the effects only apply to the Mage itself.
