Genshin Impact – A Comprehensive Guide for Arataki Itto
Genshin Impact, the Action RPG from 2020 is still running as one of the most popular mobile games in 2021. The MMO-Esque ARPG had just won The Game Award for Best Mobile Game 2021 and ranked top 5 in different play stores of different regions. With these achievements in being, a new character which was teased through the game’s social media outlets is finally available to be played and summoned. The character is none other than Arataki Itto, the descendant of the Crimson Oni.
Arataki Itto is a 5-star Geo elemental Claymore user. Arataki Itto is a Geo User and supposedly one of the top DPS currently in the game with how his skill set works. He relies on high Defense and is able to convert it into Attack being a true bruiser DPS. In this Arataki Itto Guide, we will enlist the various skills, passives, and ascension traits Arataki Itto has while explaining each of them in real-time combat. We will also give some tips and tricks on how to play Arataki Itto by shedding some light on some of his builds as well as some combos available using him.
Arataki Itto Active Attacks
Arataki Itto’s basic attacks like all other Genshin Impact characters are divided into 4 types of attacks – Normal/ Basic Attack, Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst, and Sprint/Right Click skill. All of these attacks and spells are further divided into different attacks depending on the way you try to use them. They can also be combined for some chain combos.
Arataki Itto’s Basic Attack is called “Fight Club Legend” and this attack can be further divided into 3-sub categories – Normal Attack/Auto Attack, Charged Attack, and Plunging Attack.
Normal/Auto Attack – Perform up to 4 consecutive strikes. When the 2nd and 4th strikes hit opponents, Itto will gain 1 or 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength, respectively. Max 5 stacks. Triggering this effect will refresh the current duration of any existing stacks. Additionally, Itto’s Normal Attack combo does not immediately reset after sprinting or using his Elemental Skill, “Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!”
Charged Attack – When holding to perform a Charged Attack, Itto unleashes a series of Arataki Kesagiri slashes without consuming Stamina. Instead, each Arataki Kesagiri slash consumes 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. When the final stack is consumed, Itto delivers a powerful final slash.
If no stacks of Superlative Superstrength are available, Itto will perform a single Saichimonji Slash.
Plunging Attack – Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Her basic attack can perform up to 4 swings using his Claymore sword. Itto gains 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength at the 2nd and 4th hit of his combos. Superlative Superstrength can stack up to a maximum of 5 times. Players can use these stacks of Superlative Superstrength to use Arataki Kesagiri without consuming stamina. Players can use Arataki Kesagiri using Stamina when using their charged attacks with Itto. At the final stack of Superlative Superstrength, Arataki Kesagiri will deal more damage. If no stacks of Superlative Superstrength are present, then Itto will instead use a single slash called Saichimonji Slash. As usual, the damage percentage numbers on his attacks go higher with each strike with the highest being at the 4th strike. The numbers are – 79.2%, 76.4%, 91.6%, and 117.2%. His charged basic attack charges the stacks of Superlative Superstrength instead of Stamina and deals 91.2% damage on the slashes. He deals 190.9% damage on his final stack of Superlative Superstrength. His plunge attack is an AOE damaging skill that deals more damage according to the charging time of the jump or the height of the jump made. The base plunge damage is around 81% and the variable damage that depends on the height of the jump is around 164%-204%.
Elemental Skills
Elemental Skills are skills that are on a certain amount of cooldown and deal more substantial damage. They are unique to every hero. Arataki Itto’s elemental skill is called “Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!”. This elemental skill is further divided into a release elemental skill and hold elemental skill.
Let’s see what his elemental skills can do: –
Release Elemental Skill: Hurls Ushi, the young Akaushi bull and an auxiliary member of the Arataki Gang, dealing Geo DMG to opponents on hit. When Ushi hits opponents, Arataki Itto gains 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. Ushi will remain on the field and provide support in the following ways:
- Taunts surrounding opponents and draw their attacks.
- Inherits HP based on a percentage of Arataki Itto’s Max HP.
- When Ushi takes DMG, Arataki Itto gains 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. Only 1 stack can be gained in this way every 2s. Ushi will flee when its HP reaches 0 or its duration ends.
- It will grant Arataki Itto 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength when it leaves.
Hold Elemental Skill: Adjust throwing angle. Ushi is considered a Geo Construct. Arataki Itto can only deploy 1 Ushi on the field at any one time.
As we can read from above, Arataki Itto’s elemental skills let him summon Ushi, the fellow gang member in Arataki Gang. Ushi helps Itto provide different benefits and fighting utility to Itto. Ushi grants Itto a single stack of Superlative Superstrength when he is summoned on the battlefield and hits any enemy. This action can be only done once and does not stack if he hits multiple enemies. Ushi also taunts all surrounding enemies within a certain radius of him. He gains an Inherited HP according to some % of Itto’s MAX HP. Ushi also grants 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength to Itto whenever he takes damage. However, keep in mind that this effect can only take place once every 2 seconds. Ushi will flee and be removed from the battle when his HP reaches 0 or the duration of this skill runs out. The duration is 6 seconds for this Release elemental skill. Itto will also gain 1 more stack of Superlative Superstrength when Ushi leaves as a parting gift.
Elemental Burst Skills
Elemental Burst skills can be considered like the ultimate ability used by any hero. Arataki Itto’s elemental burst skill “Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil!” is a great elemental burst skill that lets Itto change his state and do massive GEO damage. This skill lets Itto get bonus Attack according to his Defense and lets him stack more Superlative Superstrength. On the downside, he becomes more vulnerable to damage as his Elemental and Physical resistances get decreased by 20% each. Let’s understand his burst skill in detail:
“Time to show ’em the might of the Arataki Gang! For a time, Itto lets out his inner Raging Oni King, wielding his Oni King’s Kanabou in battle.” This state has the following special properties:
- Converts Itto’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to Geo DMG. This cannot be overridden.
- Increases Itto’s Normal Attack SPD. Also increases his ATK based on his DEF.
- On a hit, the 1st and 3rd strikes of his attack combo will each grant Arataki Itto 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength.
- Decreases Itto’s Elemental and Physical RES by 20%.
- The Raging Oni King state will be cleared when Itto leaves the field.
This is a solid burst skill that is more suited for an aggressive gang leader like Arataki Itto. It’s like a Do Or Die move where you deal massive damage but take more damage as well. Players need to utilize the damage at maximum when using his burst skill. The duration is long at 11 seconds.
Arataki Itto’s Passive Talents
Passive talents are those talents that do not need to be activated manually and just require some conditions to be met to be activated automatically. These talents are unique to all heroes and can be unlocked at some levels of ascension. There are three types of passive talents for Arataki Itto: –
- Arataki Ichiban (Unlocks at 1stAscension) – When Arataki Itto uses consecutive Arataki Kesagiri, he obtains the following effects:
Each slash increases the ATK SPD of the next slash by 10%. Max ATK SPD increase is 30%.
Increases his resistance to interruption.
These effects will be cleared once he stops performing consecutive slashes.
- Bloodline of the Crimson Oni (Unlocks at 4th Ascension) – Arataki Kesagiri DMG is increased by 35% of Arataki Itto’s DEF.
- Woodchuck Chucked (Unlocks Automatically) – When a party member uses attacks to obtain wood from a tree, they have a 25% chance to obtain an additional log of wood.
Arataki Itto’s Constellations
Constellations in Genshin Impact are an essential way to power up your heroes. They not only boost stats but also provide new unique abilities or constellation bonuses that can empower the hero greatly. However, they can only be upgraded by using a duplicate of the same hero multiple times. Arataki Itto’s constellations are as follows: –
1st Constellation (C1) – Crimson Bouquet

Arataki Itto Build, Artifact, and Party Recommendations
Arataki Itto will be primarily used as a Geo DPS unit with high defense. This is purely because of his burst skill utility which lets him deal massive damage the more Defense he has. However, he is also situational as he is more vulnerable due to the decrease in his Physical and Elemental resistance by 20%. This makes fun to use but hard to play around with as well. He can deal a massive amount of Geo elemental damage with the use of his skills. We recommend building him as a pure damage dealer.
Let’s check out the weapons and artifacts used for Arataki Itto: –
Redhorn Stonethresher (Weapon) – Redhorn Stonethresher is considered the best weapon of choice for Arataki Itto, for his role as a defense-based Geo DPS hero. Redhorn Stonethresher provides 46 Base attacks and 19.2% Critical hit damage. It’s also useful because of the skill effect that states the user gets a bonus of 28% Defense and a 40% increase of damage when the user uses Charged and Normal attacks. Itto benefits from this greatly as he can dish out massive damage during his elemental burst skill form.
Husk of Opulent Dreams (Artifact) –
- Defense + 30%
- A character equipped with this Artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost.
As we can see, this artifact set provides extra Defense bonus stats with its base attributed. Additionally, it gives Itto the Curiosity effect which states he will gain more stacks as he hits more opponents. These Curiosity stacks provide 6% defense and 6% Geo elemental damage bonus per stack and can be stacked up to a maximum of 4 times. Players can gain 1 stack every 3 seconds of hitting enemies. However, they need to be in action to retain these stacks else they will lose them after 6 seconds of not gaining one.
Party Member’s Recommendation
- Gorou – Ganyu is a Geo user that can be in party primarily as a damage booster for Itto’s burst damage. Gorou can boost the team’s overall defense and Geo Damage boost with his skills. He can also trigger Geo resonance.
- Zhongli – Zhongli is another Geo user that can be in the party for his ability to increase sustainability while setting up for more damage with Itto. Zhongli can provide Shields to all team members and reduce the resistance of enemies with his burst skill. He can also trigger Geo Resonance.
