GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM Gacha Guide – Banners, Rates, and Pity Explained
GIRLS’ FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM, the highly anticipated sequel to the original GIRLS’ FRONTLINE, brings a fresh experience with a new narrative, enhanced graphics, and a refined gameplay system. One of the main mechanics of the game is the Gacha system, where players can obtain new characters and weapons. This system is essential for progressing in the game, as acquiring powerful units and rare resources can significantly improve your squad’s performance. In this guide, we will break down the Gacha system in GIRLS’ FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM, explaining its mechanics and types of banners available.
Understanding the Mechanics of the Gacha System
The Gacha system in GIRLS’ FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM operates on a randomized loot box mechanic, where you summon for rewards that include characters and weapons. These pulls are done using a special in-game currency, typically divided into several types:
- Access Permissions
- Special Access Permissions
- Event-specific Gacha Currency (earned through special events)
The overall probabilities of summoning different rarities of T-dolls and weapons are as follows:
- SSR T-dolls – 0.3% chance of summoning
- SSR Weapons – 0.3% chance of summoning
- SR T-dolls – 3% chance of summoning
- SR Weapons – 3% chance of summoning
Players can summon for both T-dolls (characters) and weapons in all banners, as they are mixed. We have elaborated more on all the different types of gacha banners that you will encounter below.
Beginner Procurement Banner
Beginner Procurement is aimed for beginner players and provides a significant initial advantage. You can only make 50 pulls overall on this banner, but an SSR character is assured within those 50 pulls thanks to a “pity” system that activates on the last ten pulls if you haven’t already received one.
If you’re lucky, you may receive more than one SSR character during these pulls. Pulls must be done in groups of ten (no single pulls), but each 10-pull costs 8 Access Permissions rather than the regular ten, providing a 20% savings. Drop rates are 0.6% for SSR characters and 6% for SR characters. This banner contains no “rate-up” characters, therefore all SSRs have an equal probability of appearing.
Standard Procurement Banner
The Standard Procurement banner is permanent and available at all times. Use Access Permissions for this banner to save premium currecy on limited banners. The drop rates are 0.3% for SSR characters and weapons, and 6% for SR characters and weapons. Guarantees include an SR character or weapon every 10 pulls, as well as an SSR character or weapon every 80.
After 260 pulls, you may select one SSR from the banner (this option is only accessible once). Soft sympathy begins with the 58th draw. The pity method does not apply to other banners. In the Chinese version, you can mark a certain SSR as “rate-up,” which gives it a 50% chance of being removed. This feature is not yet available on the global version. Players can only get specific SSR T-dolls from this banner, such as Sabrina, Qiongjiu, Mosin-Nagant, Tololo, Peritya, and Vepley.
Limited Procurement Banner
Limited Procurement banners feature fresh characters and are available for a limited time, usually 3-4 weeks. After the banner finishes, the featured SSR characters will not be added to the normal pool. You’ll need to wait for a repeat. Use Limited Permissions or Premium Currency (150 Collapse Pieces or Credit Tokens per pull).
Drop rates for SSR characters are 0.6%, whereas SR characters and weapons drop at a rate of 6%. Pity includes an SR character or weapon every 10 pulls, as well as an SSR character every 80 pulls. If you do not pull the featured character on the first SSR, the second SSR will always be the rate-up character (hard pity at 160 pulls). Soft pity begins with the 58th draw. Pity does not transfer over to the other banners.
