Tip #1. Use the Terrain to your Advantage in Combat
Use the terrain effectively. In Girls Frontline 2: Exilium, the combat happens in a tactical setting wherein players can strategically use the different elements of the environment to their advantage. Players are able to interact with the environment, helping their T-dolls take either full cover or partial cover. High-ground positions provide better sightlines and damage bonuses. Use cover strategically to reduce incoming damage.
Flanking enemies increases your squad’s effectiveness and exposes weak points in enemy lines. Assign units to specific roles: frontliners for tanking, sharpshooters for damage, and medics for healing. Keep an eye on squad synergy—combining compatible abilities maximizes efficiency.
Tip #2. Build a Balanced Team Composition
The backbone of success is a well-balanced team. While it’s important to have some of the strongest characters in your teams, they also need to make sense in battle. Having a team of 5 DPS heroes will be senseless, no matter how strong they are. In Girls Frontline 2: Exilium, all T-dolls are assigned a basic class according to which they act. The entire skill set of such characters are based on their class. Each class has value in the game and can counter other T-dolls. Make sure to build a team comp that covers all the bases so that you have an advantage in-game.
Prioritize levelling skills of key squad members. Abilities that provide healing, damage boosts, or crowd control should be upgraded first. For optimal progression, each team should have the following class of T-dolls:
Assault Units: Versatile, good for mid-range combat.
Snipers: High damage output, best for eliminating priority targets.
Support Units: Provide buffs and debuffs, enhancing your squad’s effectiveness.
Healers: Essential for sustaining your squad in longer battles.
Tip #3. Get Access to Powerful Weapons
This tip goes without saying as weapons are the primary piece of equipment that you can alter for your T-dolls. These weapons also come in different rarities and boast exclusive effects when equipped. Many of the high-ranking SSR weapons can only be found via the gacha system at abysmally low rates. Hence, make sure to prioritize equipping your core DPS and Support heroes first rather than using them on low rarity heroes. Weapons come in SR or SSR rarity, with the latter giving high additive stats and unique abilities. You can get many of these amazing weapons from the Battle Pass, bringing us to our next tip!
Tip #4. Progress the Battle Pass Levels
Girls Frontline 2: Exilium, like most gacha games, features a Battle Pass with two prize paths: free for everyone and paid for spenders. The rewards include EXP materials, skill materials, Sardis Gold, Pulls, BP-only SSR Weapons, and so on. To proceed through the Battle Pass and get rewards, you must accomplish a series of daily and weekly missions, with the rewards divided into tiers.
Players can also pay some premium currency to directly bypass the condition of completing missions, although this method is not recommended. The Battle Pass has 2 versions – Free and Paid. While the paid version does provide amazing SSR quality weapons, the choice is up to the player at the end whether they have the expendable money to purchase it or not.
Tip #5. Use Attachments on Weapons
Weapons can also be upgraded by donning Attachments, which endow them (and the character using the weapon) with a slew of new stats and passive effects. There are nine varieties of Weapon Attachments, and each Weapon type has restrictions on which types can be attached to it (4 per Weapon). For example, Muzzle can be fitted on all weapon types except Swords. Weapon attachments come in four rarities: green (C), blue (R), purple (SR), and gold (SSR). Weapon attachments have unpredictable stats and effects.
