The most basic way of increasing your profits is to upgrade parts of your mine such as the miners, elevator, and warehouse. You can know some useful tips about upgrading your mines in this guide here. However, you can also make money in other ways aside from just upgrading your mines. In this guide, we’ll discuss all these other ways so that you can further maximize your profits while playing Idle Miner Tycoon.
The World Map
The world of Idle Miner Tycoon is not just restricted to the mines that you start out with. In reality, those mines are actually just one of the many other unlockable locations in Idle Miner Tycoon.
All of these can be viewed on the world map which can be accessed by clicking on the map icon on the bottom right. The world map consists of several continents with each continent having its own set of mines. Moreover, each continent also has its own color of cash. For instance, the fire continent’s cash is colored red, the dusk continent’s cash is colored purple, and so on and so forth.
The continent that you start with utilizes yellow cash and the mine that you start out with is the Coal Mine. New mines in a continent can be unlocked for an exorbitant amount of money (i.e., ab-am range) but of course, the benefit is that you can earn even more money by owning more than one mine. The first new mine that you can unlock is the Gold Mine which can be purchased for a staggering 76 ab. When you reach the ab mark in the Coal Mine, it is best to prioritize earning money to buy the Gold Mine rather than spend on more upgrades.

Research
You can purchase a multitude of passive upgrades for your mining operations in the Research section. Research is done by spending research points and there are mainly five types of these represented with their own colors: Normal (Green), Ice (Blue), Fire (Red), Dawn (Pink), Dusk (Purple), and Ancient (Blue-Green).
Research is made up of a myriad of nodes and each node upgrades a certain aspect of the mines. For example, one of the first upgrades you make is a 40% increase in the revenue from the Coal Mine. Each node is made up of up to five stars and you earn one star by spending the appropriate research point.
Research points can be bought with either cash or Super Cash in the in-game store. One normal Research Point costs 200 Super Cash or 3.61T whereas 10 Research Points cost 2000 Super Cash or 162aa. It is best to spend on normal Research Points and spending those on nodes that accept normal points as these are relatively the cheapest and most accessible ones.
Expeditions
Expeditions are a secondary way of making passive income in Idle Miner Tycoon. You can select one of three expeditions from the list, and you can always reroll it when you are not satisfied with the options. Additionally, you can join up to 5 expeditions per day.
Each expedition involves activating a task that takes a certain amount of time to complete (at least 6 real-world hours) in exchange for rewards such as Super Cash or Cash. The quality of these rewards becomes higher when the expedition is rarer and takes a longer time to complete.

Super Cash
Super Cash is the premium currency in Idle Miner Tycoon and you can buy plenty of things with it. For instance, you can spend Super Cash to instantly remove barriers and build new shafts.
Another thing that you can do with Super Cash is to buy cash packs instantly. Under the “Instant Cash” section of the in-game store, you can buy one of three cash packs: 12H Instant Cash, 1D Instant Cash, and 3D Instant Cash. The amount of money you can get from these packs depends on your current rate of profit. 12H Instant Cash gives you 12 hours’ worth of profit, 1D gives you 24 hours’ worth of profit, and 3D gives you 72 hours’ worth of profit. Cash packs are very useful for when you need emergency money or just want a large amount of cash instantly.
You can also purchase boosts with Super Cash. In the store, you can buy one of three boosts available with the inventory refreshing every 24 hours. Boosts come in handy as they temporarily multiply all profits by a certain amount (i.e., 2x, 5x, 10x). When you have a lot of Super Cash on hand and are not really in an emergency, it is best to spend them on boosts.
Being a premium currency, Super Cash is commonly garnered from microtransactions, so you generally must pay with real money. Fortunately, the game provides you with free Super Cash whenever you “boost” your mines. Go to any part of your mine and click on its level button and it pops up a menu displaying a progress bar telling you how many more levels you need to reach to get the free Super Cash.
