Immortal Awakening Mage Class Guide - Everything You Need to Know About the Mighty Mage
So you want to play as a Mage in the new Immortal Awakening mobile MMORPG, huh? Well, in this guide, you’ll find everything you need to know as a newcomer to this class. Read on to learn the ins and outs of the Mage class in Immortal Awakening!
Mage Starting Skills
Right off the bat, it’s quite apparent that the Mage in Immortal Awakening fills the role of your typical MMORPG spellcaster class. That is, the Mage specializes in AoE DPS, with tons of skills and abilities that can inflict a lot of damage across a wide area.
While this focus on area damage means that their overall single-target DPS is a bit lackluster when compared to, say, the Demon Hunter, this makes the Mage the absolute best of the best when it comes to easily dispatching hordes of weaker enemies. This focus on AoE makes the Mage a great class for tackling group content, especially when clearing the path towards a boss enemy.
With that being said, the Mage has the following starting skills:
- Flaming Spirit: Inflicts a total of 720% damage spread evenly across 7 hits to all enemies in a cone in front of the caster.
- Meteor: inflicts 220% damage in an area and stuns all enemies affected for 1.5 seconds on impact. This skill leaves a blazing circle in its area, inflicting an extra 60% per second for 3 seconds after the initial impact.
- Telepathy: The Mage teleports forward a short distance, inflicting 100% to nearby enemies after traveling. This skill increases the Mage’s ATK for 5 seconds.
- Frost Armor: Inflicts 500% damage to all nearby enemies, increasing the Mage’s DEF by 20% for 15 seconds. All nearby allies’ DEF is also increased by 10% for the entire duration.
Mage Recommended Play Style
Compared to the Barbarian, the Mage in Immortal Awakening has a much more conservative play style, in the sense that she can’t dive headfirst into the enemy because she’s much more fragile and prone to getting overwhelmed. As such, the Mage thrives when attacking from a distance as she’ll have enough time and room to conjure up her skills and inflict massive damage on her unsuspecting enemies.
While it might seem that the Mage isn’t suited to direct combat, she can actually be quite powerful when adventuring solo. However, she shines brightest during group content, when she can have a Barbarian tank all the enemies for her while she pelts them with powerful spells. Moreover, since she can buff the defenses of the entire squad, she can also provide valuable support even when she’s not inflicting direct damage.
Recommended For
As the only spellcaster in the entire roster, you won’t find another class like the Mage in Immortal Awakening. As such, if her aesthetics and skills appeal to your tastes, you should definitely play as the Mage. Regardless, the Mage is best for those who enjoy playing in group content, as this is where she can truly shine. Your allies will love you if you’re DPSing as a Mage in group content, simply due to the class’ effectiveness at clearing hordes of enemies with a few clicks.
