If you’re a new player joining Last Ultima, you might be looking for some guides to fulfil your thirst of efficiency. Don’t worry, this is completely normal, especially with a long-drawn intense genre of an MMORPG. We are glad to present our beginners guide for Last Ultima, which goes deeper into the underlaying mechanics of the different game systems. One thing to note is that the game is still quite fresh, being only a couple of days old. We will be presenting the guide in layman terms that are easy to understand by all types of players. Keep in mind that live-service games like Last Ultima are made to be played like a marathon and not to be treated as a sprint.
Understanding the Combat Mechanics
Last Ultima features a broad and unique skill-oriented combat system that allows players to use their strategy and tact over pay-to-win shenanigans. The game presents itself as an open-world ARPG at most times, due to the diverse nature of the combat. Firstly, you must understand that there are 5 different classes, and each of them harbors a unique playstyle:
- Assassin
- Nether Envoy
- Fighter
- Sage
- Gunner
Each class is blessed with unique stats in the following departments:
- Single attack
- AOE attack
- Speed
- Control
- Defense
- HP
Classes are also quite diverse in nature, according to the way you build them. For example, the usually sturdy and tanky Fighters can even be built as a bruiser by providing them with equipment that increases their Attack and Attack damage. Each class is also built to deal damage, while survive at the same time. The squishy and nimble Gunner class, for example, is quite prone to getting defeated by any melee-ranged damage dealers such as the Assassins or Fighters. However, they are blessed with high base Speed and are generally quite Agile in nature, allowing them to dodge incoming attacks with ease.
Understanding the Gacha System
Last Ultima also has a hero-collector system that allows players to summon, collect, and use different types of heroes, called as “Espers” in official in-game terminology. The gacha system is quite limited in nature, and can be accessed by clicking on the “Summon” tab on the top right-hand side of the main menu. Players can summon different rarities and types of Espers from the system, starting from SSR as the highest rarity and R as the lowest rarity. The higher rarity Espers are going to be having the lowest rates to be acquired, while the lowest rarity Espers are going to be having the highest rates to be acquired. Here are the rates to summon the different rarities of Espers:
- SSR Esper – 3.5% probability of being summoned
- SR Esper – 10.5% probability of being summoned
- R Esper – 86% probability of being summoned
For new players, the first 10x summons they make on any of the summoning banners will fetch them with a guaranteed SSR Esper. Do not worry, as there’s an in-built pity system across all the banners as well. If players are unable to summon an SSR Esper in 29 summons, then the 30th summon will be guaranteed to fetch an SSR hero. There are also some additional rewards that are available through summoning a particular number of times:
- Summoned 30 times: Esper EXP x 150,000 + Esper Polish Holy Water x 25 + SR Esper Fragment x 6
- Summoned 60 times: Esper EXP x 150,000 + Esper Polish Holy Water x 25 + SR Esper Fragment x 6
- Summoned 100 times: Esper EXP x 150,000 + Esper Polish Holy Water x 25 + SSR Esper Fragment x 3
Understanding the Different Currencies
Last Ultima is a great MMORPG that is working on a live-service game model. They limit your progression in a steady manner by dividing the game’s systems and each system requires a different type of currency. In this section, we are going to be talking about the main currencies that are at play:
- Esper EXP – This is one of the main currencies in the game that pertains only to the Esper section. Players can get Esper XP from in-game events, activities, summoning, and by completing the different quests. Esper EXP is primarily only used to level up your owned Espers. By levelling up, their base stats are increased along with your account’s total Battle Power.
- Gold – Gold is also one of the primary currencies in Last Ultima. It is available in abundance all throughout the game. Gold is majorly earned by completing quests, in-game activities, events, login rewards, maintenance rewards, pre-registration rewards, world boss, and much more. Gold is used to breakthrough Espers, enhance their skills, and upgrade their equipment.
- Diamonds – Diamonds are the premium currency of Last Ultima. They are available in 2 types – Free Diamonds and Bound Diamonds. The former are freely available and will be used first, while the latter are paid-only and will be used later. Diamonds are primarily obtained from events, pre-registration rewards, quests, and first-time clear rewards. Diamonds are mainly used to summon new Espers, and/or purchase items from the Diamond shop.
We recommend playing Last Ultima on a PC using BlueStacks with a keyboard and mouse for a 60 FPS Full HD lag-free experience on a bigger screen.
