In this article for Last Ultima, we will be presenting some of our personalized tips and tricks that will help you get a boosted sense of progression in a shorter duration of time. Naturally, since the game has only been out for a few hours at the time of writing, there’s a lot yet to discover and uncover in terms of tricks. We have also taken into account different factors while making this guide, such as past experiences with similar MMORPGs, in-game statistics, and discussions with players on the game’s official discord server. Without further ado, let’s get you right to the tips!

Tip #1. Choosing the Right Class

One of the biggest dilemma’s faced by new players at the beginning of their character creation journey is to choose the right class. This topic, in itself is so broad that it requires a specific guide. Players need to weigh in the pros & cons of each individual class before making this important decision. Why this decision is so important players might ask? Well, classes cannot be changed once chosen at the start of the game. The current account of the player will be locked to a particular class until data is reset or account is deleted. 

At the time of global launch, Last Ultima has 5 different and unique classes:

• Assassin

• Nether Envoy

• Fighter

• Sage

• Gunner

Each of them harbor a unique playstyle and offer a variety of different active and passive abilities. Players can also customize their character at the beginning of the game to make them more unique and stylish.

Tip #2. Mastering the Combat Mechanics

Last Ultima is an action-based MMO instead of the usual tab-targeting combat mechanics seen in major mobile MMOs. This makes it more skill-oriented and not stat-oriented. A highly skilled player that understands how to use their abilities at the current time can significantly have advantage over a player that does not understand when to time and use their abilities. A “Dodge” feature is also given that allows the player to quicky dodge incoming attacks by simply sprinting in the direction the camera points towards. This helps in reducing incoming damage, and gives you a chance to make use of your reflexes in intense situations. 

Tip #3. Completing the Main Quests

Much like any other mobile MMORPG, Last Ultima also has a diverse questing system that aids to the overall player experience. The quests are divided into 2 distinct parts – Main Quests and Sub-Quests. The former type of quests are what we would recommend any beginner to engage with as it provided a solid base for your account as well as unlocks new areas in the game that help you generate more resources over time. The latter type of quests are more suited for players who have more time on their hands to dedicate towards the game. Main quests are represented in Yellow color, while the sub-quests are represented in blue color.

Main quests can be started automatically by simply clicking on them, and your character will ensure they reach the end point of the quest. We would highly recommend to get to at least Chapter 2 in the Main Quest system, as it will help you unlock majority of the game modes in Last Ultima. The rewards associated with the quests are also quite juicy!

Tip #4. Recruit Strong Espers from the Gacha!

A full-blown Gacha system is also present in Last Ultima to help you recruit strong heroes, known as “Espers” in the game. These Espers are strong characters that can assist you in & outside of battles, as they possess a unique set of abilities. There’s a lot of game modes that also require you to specifically use these Espers in order to participate and win. The game does a great job at fulfilling any hero-collector itch that you might have with the innate gacha system. Each Esper in the game has been assigned a base rarity, with SSR as the highest and R as the lowest. Players can recruit them from different types of summoning banners available at different times.

Tip #5. Organize your Formations to Defeat Strong Enemies

This tip comes mostly from players who have reached a higher level of progression in-game. The formations of your Espers need to be balanced in order to sustain yourself and progress efficiently. This can be done by picking up Espers that are having a multitude of skills, such as healing, controlling, damaging, and/or buffing/debuffing. A healthy mix of such skills will ensure that you are ready any time, regardless of the situation presented to you.
