Madtale: Idle RPG is the latest project by the famed Korea based developers Archosaur Games. Being an Idle RPG, players can expect a fun-filled and casual gameplay experience that rewards players based not on their time spent but on their dedication towards the game. The game is scheduled to launch globally very soon, with multiple closed and open betas already conducted for it. It has received positive reviews from the community, and promised to strive for better QOL changes and more content with future updates. Madtale: Idle RPG is available to be downloaded as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store with in-game microtransactions enabled.

Madtale: Idle RPG is a hero collector RPG that makes use of an innate gacha system to provide a chance of summoning rare heroes in the game. Much like any gacha game, different rarities of heroes are available at different probabilities. The highest rarity being “S+/Epic”, while the lowest rarity being “Rare”. Players can summon for these different rarities of heroes through the in-game system known as “Clock Tower”. Here are the different rarities of heroes and their respective probabilities:

• Epic Heroes – 4.7% Probability of being summoned
• Elite Heroes – 40.3% Probability of being summoned
• Rare Heroes – 55% Probability of being summoned

In this tier list for Madtale: Idle RPG, we will be ranking the best heroes at the time of the global launch. This tier list is subjective in nature, and not definitive as rankings can change at any time due to the nature of the game. We have taken several core factors into consideration while forming the tier list. The base rarity of each individual hero plays an important role as higher the rarity, the better base stats they possess. Secondly, the performance of each hero in different PvP and PvE content is also taken into consideration. The feedback received for each hero from the community is also taken into perspective.

S Tier Heroes

Let’s take a look at some of the heroes in this tier:

PUSS IN BOOTS

Puss in Boots is an S+ rarity hero from the Tough Skeleton faction that is listed as an Assassin in-game. He also plays the role of a Nuker. His description states the following – “It is not uncommon to have a talking cat ruling the Tough Skeleton dominated by orcs, yet that identity brought him much suffering in human territory. Being homeless since childhood, he did not know where he came from or where he was going. The only thing he was sure about was that he should try his best to keep his mouth shut, or otherwise humans would see him as a horrible monster rather than a washed-up cat.”

Puss in Boots’ 1st active ability Blink Strike states the following – “Deals 290% Attack damage to a random enemy with an extra target’s 15% MAX HP as damage (up to Puss’s 1000% Attack).” His 1st passive ability Sword’s Will states the following – “Increases Attack by 10% and Critical Hit Rate by 5%”. Puss in Boots’ 2nd passive ability Elite Killer reads as follows – “Every defeated enemy increases Puss’s critical hit damage by 10% and Attack by 5% for 2 rounds”. His 3rd passive ability Invincible Soul does as follow – “Dealing critical hit damage from ultimate skills or basic attacks performs a follow-up attack, dealing 100% damage.”

ABDULLAH

Abdullah is an S+ rarity hero from the Tough Skeleton faction that is listed as a Sage in-game. He also plays the role of a Supporter/ Buffer. His description states the following – “Give us some music, Abdullah. Dance and sing for the coronation. Have some oenomel, Abdullah. Be a ragged king in your dream. The running joke would not spoil the good mood. The one being ridiculed was holding a teapot with a broken handle and slowly poured half a cup of water. Aristocracy would not be harmed by the commoner’s remarks, he thought so when picking up the teacup. Abdullah became famous for the instrument on his head. After all, not everyone could tie a drum to their head.”

Abdullah’s 1st active ability Arousing Drum states the following – “Deals 120% Attack damage to all enemies and increases your Partner’s Attack by 20% for 2 rounds.” His 1st passive ability Healing Harmony states the following – “Increases HP by 10% and Attack by 5%”. Abdullah’s 2nd passive ability Rousing Score reads as follows – “Basic attacks grants all your Partners 10% critical hit rate for 2 rounds.”. His 3rd passive ability Harmonic Sound does as follow – “When HP falls below 50% for the first time in a battle, restores Abdullah’s 320% Attack as HP to the partner with the current lowest HP.”

MERCURY

Mercury is an S+ rarity hero from the Diety faction that is listed as an Assassin in-game. He also plays the role of a Nuker. His description states the following – “Mercury is a god governing a river. He had been testing every passer-by with a golden axe and a silver axe, and transformed those greedy ones into Polluters. But he didn’t care about that for her believed those determined ones would not be Polluted. Whether liars or Polluters would all be punished by him. The golden and silver axes are his tools and weapons as well.”

Mercury’s 1st active ability Gold or Silver states the following – “Skills prioritize the target with the Judgement Mark, otherwise attacks the enemy who dealt the highest damage. Deals 300% of Attack as damage and triggers the Mark.” His 1st passive ability Who’s Lying states the following – “At the start of a round, afflicts the enemy who dealt most damage (if there are two or more enemies dealing same damage, attacks the one with the highest power) with a random Judgement Mark for 2 turns”. Mercury’s 2nd passive ability Integrity reads as follows – “Increases Attack by 10% and HP by 5%”. His 3rd passive ability Penalty for Lie does as follow – “Basic attacks prioritize the Marked target (otherwise attacks the enemy who dealt the highest damage), with a 50% chance to apply a new Mark to the target, lasting 2 rounds.”

RILLA REED

Rilla Reed is an S+ rarity hero from the Council of Thorns faction that is listed as an Assassin in-game. She also plays the role of a DOT/ DPS. Her description states the following – “A legend in the taverns of the Black Forest has it that you should never linger in the forest until midnight for you will lose your feet or your life, spending the rest of the life in a wooden body like Pinocchio. The mysterious rumor flashed around the world and ended up being an unfailing topic in the tavern. Yet the culprits sits on the barrel of the tavern, sipping honey pumpkin juice and looking harmless.”

Rilla Reed’s 1st active ability Pumpkin Killer states the following – “Deals 120% Attack damage all enemies with the highest HP with an extra 50% Bleed damage each round for 2 rounds.” Her 1st passive ability Deep Concentration states the following – “Increases Attack by 10% and Critical Hit Rate by 5%”. Rilla Reed’s 2nd passive ability Weakness Insight reads as follows – “Every basic attack grants Rilla 15% Critical hit rate for 2 rounds.” Her 3rd passive ability Revenge does as follow – “When being attacked, there’s a 75% chance to launch a counterattack, dealing 100% of her Attack as damage”

VERONICA

Veronica is an S+ rarity hero from the Council of Thorns faction that is listed as an Assassin in-game. She also plays the role of a Control/ DPS. Her description states the following – “This town is crazy, Veronica thought indifferently, dodging out of the way of a girl who was holding a pair of shoes in a mad dash. The prince who ran this town has a quirk – he never looked at people’s faces. He looked at their feet. And everyone in the town actually catered to the prince with such fervour that they all indulged in showing off their feet. Mindless dumb pigs, Veronica spat.”

Veronica’s 1st active ability Sketch states the following – “Deals 290% Attack damage to a single enemy and makes the target Bleed, dealing 80% bleed damage each round for 3 rounds. If the target is already Bleeding, there is a 50% chance to Stun him for 2 rounds.” Her 1st passive ability Lunge states the following – “Basic attacks have a 30% chance to Stun the Bleeding target for 2 rounds.” Veronica’s 2nd passive ability Dark Precision reads as follows – “Increases Attack by 10% and Critical Hit Rate by 5%” Her 3rd passive ability Wailing Blade does as follow – “After dying, deals 60% Attack as Bleed damage to all enemies for 2 rounds.”

ARCHIE

Archie is an S rarity hero from the Life Federation faction that is listed as a Warrior in-game. He also plays the role of a Tank/ Nuker. His description states the following – “Archie is a cool dude praised by everyone in the pond. Many girls in the pond asked him about the direction just to talk to him. But Archie had never been far from the pond, because he was bad at directions. It bothered him that so many asked him for directions that he tried to remember the directions and roads. Yet he couldn’t. One day, Archie packed for a trip. Where to? No Idea.”

Archie’s 1st active ability Dive Attack states the following – “Deals 275% Attack damage to a random enemy and gains 30% critical hit rate for 3 rounds.” His 1st passive ability Accurate Capture states the following – “Increases HP by 10% and PAR by 5%”. Archie’s 2nd passive ability Adhesion reads as follows – “Dealing critical hit damage heals Archie by 50% of his Attack as restored HP”. His 3rd passive ability Assertiveness does as follow – “When HP falls below 50% for the first time in a battle, increases self critical hit rate by 20% for 2 rounds.”

ABIGAIL

Abigail is an S+ rarity hero from the Deity faction that is listed as a Sage in-game. She also plays the role of a Support/ DPS. Her description states the following – “Abigail met selfish humans who would even walk out on a deal for selfishness and greed. Having been treated this way many times, Abigail wanted to punish humans, and a voice inside told her to tempt humans by words into her trap. Abigail was Polluted, but her self-consciousness was awakened thanks to Grandma before her Soul was completely Polluted. However, the evil personality born out of Pollution was not purified. It clung to Abigail and kept murmuring in her ears.”

Abigail’s 1st active ability Double Specters states the following – “Deals 190% Attack damage to 3 random enemies. If Water Spirit is white, grants your 3 random partners a shield equal to 180% of Abigails Attack. If Water Spirit is Black, deals an extra damage equal to 10% targets MAX HP (up to Abigail’s 1000% Attack)” Her 1st passive ability Between Light and Shadow states the following – “At the start of a round, if critical hit rate exceeds PAR, turns Water spirit White. Otherwise, Water Spirit is turned Black.” Abigail’s 2nd passive ability Abyssal Murmur reads as follows – “If Water Spirit is White, grants 10% TOU and 5% Damage reduction. If Water Spirit is Black, grants 10% Attack and 5% damage bonus.” Her 3rd passive ability Shackled Prayer does as follow – “Grants a Shield equal to 120% of Abigail’s attack when being controlled.”

CYNTHIA

Cynthia is an S+ rarity hero from the Witch faction that is listed as an Archmage in-game. She also plays the role of a Controller. Her description states the following – “Cynthia is one of those infamous witches. Those destructions by other witches, as she sees it, are kids stuff and raffish. She has a more perfect form of destruction – she calls herself a painter who faithfully portrays humanity. This is easy for Cynthia because she likes and excels in bringing out the dark sides. Fiddling at a critical point in time to tear down their mask and stimulate the deepest desires can exert a ripple effect and eventually lead to human destruction.”

Cynthia’s 1st active ability Meteor Fall states the following – “Deals 220% Attack damage to 2 random enemies with a 40% chance to Polymorph them for 2 rounds.” Her 1st passive ability Light of Blessing states the following – “Increases HP by 10% and TOU by 5%.” Cynthia’s 2nd passive ability Polluted Incarnation reads as follows – “Basic attacks deal damage to a random enemy with a 30% chance to Polymorph them for 2 rounds.” Her 3rd passive ability Replacement does as follow – “Whenever HP falls below 30%, there’s a 50% chance to Swap HP with the enemy with the highest HP currently.”

JANIK

Janik is an S+ rarity hero from the Tough Skeleton faction that is listed as an Assassin in-game. He also plays the role of a Debuffer/ DPS. His description states the following – “Janik is a man who can build many things. He builds a flying trunk and many other strange odd things. He sells his little objects to the surrounding towns, but he doesn’t ask for money, he just want’s people sincere admiration. Just pray sincerely for what you need and the magical Janik will appear in his flying trunk with the item that will solve your problem.”

Janik’s 1st active ability Customization states the following – “Deals 290% Attack as Damage to the enemy with the highest energy and reduces the targets energy by 30.” His 1st passive ability Treasure Chest states the following – “Increases Attack by 10% and Critical Hit Rate by 5%”. Janik’s 2nd passive ability Mechanical Power reads as follows – “Basic attacks have a 40% chance to Silence the target owning more than 100 energy for 2 rounds”. His 3rd passive ability Flying Crate does as follow – “Performs a Follow-up attack when attacking a target owning more than 100 energy by Ultimate Skills and Basic Attacks, dealing 100% attack as damage.”

B Tier Heroes

MARIA LOHR

Maria Lohr is an S rarity hero from the Holy Light Order faction that is listed as a Sage in-game. She also plays the role of a AOE Buffer/ Debuffer. Her description states the following – “Who could bear to refuse Maria Lohr? Not only because she is the noble imperial princess, but also because she is born with a face as perfect as being kissed by an angel, charming everyone who has seen it. Not to mention her kindness, humility, and elegance. She is the incarnation of Beauty Goddess herself! We shall support Princess Lohr forever! We shall guard Princess Lohr with our lives!”

Maria Lohr’s 1st active ability Royal Anecdote states the following – “Deals 120% Attack damage to all enemies and reduces their Accuracy by 30% for 2 rounds.” Her 1st passive ability Smile Blessing states the following – “Increases Attack by 10% and Accuracy by 5%.” Maria Lohr’s 2nd passive ability Heart-Piercing Hit reads as follows – “Basic attacks reduce the targets Critical hit rate by 15% for 2 rounds” Her 3rd passive ability True Feelings does as follow – “Whenever HP falls below 30% for the first time in battle, increases all your Partner’s attack by 20% and reduces all enemies Defense by 20% for 2 rounds.”

CASSIM

Cassim is an S rarity hero from the Tough Skeleton faction that is listed as an Archmage in-game. He also plays the role of a Tank/ Controller. His description states the following – “Cassim is better at calculating and, of course, greedier than his younger brother, Ali Baba, so their family thought the family estate should be passed down to him. As a result, Cassim got the most fortune and even got richer by marrying the daughter of a wealthy merchant. He despised his younger brother and tried to prevent Ali Baba from making a fortune. At the word that Ali Baba found a cave with gold, he didn’t hesitate to compel Ali Baba to make clear the location and went straight there.”

Cassim’s 1st active ability Expensive Justice states the following – “Deals 120% Attack as Damage to all enemies with a 25% chance to Stun them for 2 rounds.” His 1st passive ability Dazzling Gold states the following – “Increases HP by 10% and PAR by 5%”. Cassim’s 2nd passive ability Miser reads as follows – “Basic attacks on controlled targets restore 50% of Attack as HP to self”. His 3rd passive ability Blessing of Wealth does as follow – “When being attacked, there’s a 25% chance to Stun the attacker for 2 rounds.”

PRABHU PHIL

Prabhu Phil is an S rarity hero from the Council of Thorns faction that is listed as a Warrior in-game. He also plays the role of a Tank/ Nuker. His description states the following – “As the Enchanted Forest was Polluted, Prabhu Phil decided to become the most famous, righteous, and courageous warrior in the new world. His first stop was the Holy Light Order, yet his talent was underrated and he failed. Desiring to make “Prabhu Phil” a household name, he walked around the forest in eye-catching costumes and signature exaggerated steps, trying to find those weak who needed help.”

Prabhu Phil’s 1st active ability Deadly Harvest states the following – “Deals 280% Attack as Damage to the enemy with the lowest HP, and heals Prabhu for 40% of the total damage dealt.” His 1st passive ability Muscle Power states the following – “Increases HP by 10% and Attack by 5%”. Prabhu Phil’s 2nd passive ability Accurate Strike reads as follows – “Basic attacks deal damage to the enemy with the lowest HP, and heals Prabhu for 30% damage dealt”. His 3rd passive ability Cry of Victory does as follow – “Increases Attack by 20% for 3 rounds when killing the target.”
