Understand the Deck Types

In MARVEL SNAP, decks are categorized into archetypes based on the playstyle and synergy between cards. The three primary archetypes are:

Control Decks: Focus on disrupting the opponent’s strategies and controlling the board. These decks often use cards that limit the opponent’s moves or reduce their power in specific locations.

Aggro Decks: Emphasize high-power cards and aggressive plays to dominate locations quickly. These decks are straightforward and often win by overwhelming opponents with power.

Combo Decks: Rely on card synergies to achieve powerful effects. These decks often involve chaining cards together to create unexpected swings in power or board control.                            

Best Decks for Each Type

Ongoing Control Deck

Ongoing Control decks leverage the effects of ongoing cards to control locations and hinder opponents’ strategies.

Core Cards:

Professor X: Locks down a location, preventing anyone from adding more cards there. This can secure a location you’ve already won or deny your opponent’s efforts.

Storm: Changes a location to “Flooded,” making it inaccessible after the next turn. Combining Storm with powerful cards early on can lock down a location quickly.

Cosmo: Prevents On Reveal effects at a location. Cosmo is excellent against decks relying on On Reveal effects, like Destroyer or Wong combos.

Iron Man: Doubles the power at a location. Iron Man can secure or contest a location where you have moderate power, turning it into a dominant one.

Pros of the Deck:

• Lock Down Early: Use Storm or Professor X to secure a location early. Follow up with cards like Armor to protect your investments.
• Limit Opponent Moves: Utilize Cosmo to prevent On Reveal effects and stop your opponent from executing their strategies.
• Boost Power: Iron Man can significantly boost your power. Combine him with a card like Blue Marvel for added strength.

Zoo Deck

Kazar: Buffs all 1-cost cards by +1 Power. He’s the centerpiece of this deck, enabling all your low-cost cards to become significantly stronger.

Blue Marvel: Adds +1 Power to all other cards, further strengthening your swarm.

Squirrel Girl: Fills all locations with 1-Power Squirrels, which are buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel.

Iron Man: Doubles power at a location. He’s useful for boosting the overall strength of your swarm.

Discard Hela Deck

Hela: Resurrects all discarded cards at random locations, giving you a massive power swing late-game.

Lady Sif: Discards the highest-cost card from your hand. She helps control which card gets discarded, so you can ensure it’s something beneficial to resurrect.

Ghost Rider: Resurrects a discarded card. He can be paired with Lady Sif to bring back a high-cost card early.

The Infinaut: A 20-power card ideal for resurrection with Hela, providing a huge boost if it lands on the board.

Pros of the Deck:

• Discard Strategically: Use Lady Sif and Sword Master to discard high-cost cards you want to resurrect, like The Infinaut, Odin, or Hulk.
• Play Hela on Turn 6: By this time, you’ll have discarded several powerful cards. Hela can then resurrect them, often securing multiple locations simultaneously.
• Ensure Board Control: Manage where you play cards to maximize resurrection potential. Protect locations with Armor if needed to safeguard your power.

Destroyer: Provides 16 Power, but destroys other cards when played. The goal is to negate this effect with Armor or use him in a protected zone.

Armor: Prevents cards at a location from being destroyed. Armor is key to protecting your cards when Destroyer is played.

Warpath: Gains +4 Power if you have an empty location. This synergy works well with Professor X, allowing you to control locations effectively.

Spectrum: Buffs all Ongoing cards with +2 Power, which synergizes with your other ongoing abilities.
