MARVEL SNAP – Tips and Tricks to Increase Your Chances of Winning
Marvel fans are super hyped with the news of the upcoming card-battler RPG title MARVEL SNAP, being developed by Second Dinner and published by Nuverse globally. This can be seen on the game’s official website which showcases over 10 million pre-registrations already being done by the community. Players can enjoy MARVEL SNAP for free as it’s a free-to-play game that is going to be available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store. The game features popular characters from the vast array of superheroes and supervillains of the MARVEL comics/cinematic IP franchise. The game is already operating in a closed beta state in the Philippines to test its stability of the game.
MARVEL SNAP is the perfect game for players looking for a short, fun-filled, and casual gaming experience while traveling or simply waiting at the bus stop. The ideal player base of the game is not defined, however, gamers who have played other card games among the likes of Gwent, Hearthstone, or Shadowverse will find MARVEL SNAP very relatable and addictive. As card games are notorious for strategic combat and deck-building mechanics, players can expect tons of strategic depth offered by the game. A new feature called “SNAP” is being added to the game which essentially lets the players double everything at stakes. If they will lose the SNAP, they will lose double the points and if they are winning the SNAP, they will gain double the points gained normally. This is not only a differentiating feature among other card games but also makes for fun interactions where players can initiate bluffs using SNAP even if they do not have good cards in their hands.
MARVEL SNAP is a graphically adept game that features flashy animations and high-powered special effects to make the cards on the board livelier and more realistic. All the cards come in a sealed 8-bit form and players can collect over 200+ such cards featuring the different superheroes and supervillains from the MARVEL universe. It is also going to be the first game where players will be able to see their favorite superheroes and supervillains working together in the same team to fight off the enemy.
For clarity, MARVEL SNAP is only a PvP-based game where all the game modes require players to fight with other players. One of the most popular game modes is the Ranked mode where players can earn points per win and climb the rankings of the leaderboard to make a name for themselves. Players are also rewarded with name frames, titles, and packs of cards to open. As the game is a carb-based battler, players get different cards from card packs that are dropped from missions, events, and by simply winning the matches. Players can also purchase the in-game battle pass to get their hands on more rewards, although it’s not necessary.
In this tier list article, we will be giving some of the best tips and tricks to compete in MARVEL SNAP and increase the power of your cards on the battlefield. The power of cards is essential to win any location and whichever player is in control of 2 out of the 3 provided locations, wins the battle. For example, some cards are having high base power inherently like The Hulk but they cost more energy to be dropped on the battlefield as well. For reference purposes, players can check out our MARVEL SNAP card tier list to get a better understanding of the best character cards available in the game.
Tip #1. Location Tie Break
Many times, a situation will arise in battles when the player and the opponent have tied power on a particular location or multiple locations on the battlefield. This type of situation is called a “Tie Breaker” where the players are forced to focus on a particular location in order to get ahead of the enemy. In certain locations like Mojoworld, the player who has more cards on the location will automatically be declared the winner. In some locations like The Bar with No Name, players who have the least amount of power will win the particular location.
However, in most cases, the locations do not decide the outcome of the match and the overall power of the cards on the location decides the victor. Keep in mind to save at least 1 spot in each location for strong cards that cost 5 or 6 energy to deploy at the last turn. These strong cards have massive power or skills that can completely change the tide of the game. For example, players can deploy Iron Man (which costs 5 energy) on any location and he will instantly double the power of the entire location.
Tip #2. Remember the Order of Cards
Just like how cards are obtained in hand from your deck, the way they are dropped on the battlefield also changes the way the games are played and the outcome of the matches. A veteran player will be sure to remember the different combos of his deck, depending on the card they throw on the battlefield. For example, if we look at some of the meta decks in MARVEL SNAP, we will notice a pattern of a mix between cards of higher and lower energy both. This is to control the locations from an early stage and finish the match by dropping high-energy cards at the end. Whichever player is winning on the location will have their cards revealed first.
Now, this can both be an advantage and disadvantage depending on how you look at it. If your card is being revealed secondly, then if you choose cards that can destroy enemy cards, there’s a chance you will be able to destroy a core card that they just dropped on the battlefield.
Tip #3. Play Strategically, One Location at A Time
Many players who are beginning their matches try to get in control of all the locations in order to safeguard their victory in at least 2 locations. They forget that although MARVEL SNAP is a fast-paced game, the core value of the game is still to strategize and play mind-games with the opponent to win the matches. Players need to take their time and think according to the strengths and weaknesses of their decks to overpower the enemy.
Brute pushing all locations will not only empty your cards fast but also leave you with weaker cards in the final turns of the match. We recommend players build a deck comprising both strong and weak cards to make a good strategy. Focusing on one location at a time that favors the cards in your deck and hand is the key to winning matches.
Tip #4. Make Use of SNAP Feature
One thing that distinguishes MARVEL SNAP from other card-battlers is the SNAP feature that will instantly double down on the stakes at the line. Players can win more cubes if they win the match or lose more cubes if they lose the match. New players can make use of SNAP to greatly climb the ranks fast. SNAP feature also acts as a gamble and can play mind-games with your opponent by tricking them into thinking that you have drawn good cards from your deck.
This is also called Bluffing in classic card games, where you trick the player into thinking that you have the match in the bag. SNAPPING early can also shake the momentum of the opponent and can put more pressure on him/her and this can force them into making in-efficient moves.
Tip #5. Upgrade your Cards and Make Multiple Decks
Upgrading your owned Cards is the best way to guarantee victory from your side, leaving the rest to RNG on the battlefield. Players can upgrade Cards using Credits and these Credits can be earned from completing different missions and climbing the rankings. Currently, the game is still in early development with limited sources of obtaining Credits but the developers have promised generous events to make them more available to the general public. Building multiple decks should also be the main aim of veteran MARVEL SNAP players as this can greatly increase your flexibility. Multiple decks also improve the way the players can make moves by simply having more choices at their disposal. However, we only recommend powering up 1 deck at a time since powering up cards is a tedious and expensive process requiring tons of Credits.
MARVEL SNAP is a casual card-battler that will appeal to the audience who likes strategical card games. As MARVEL SNAP is a casual game, players will not be actively engaged in the game or grinding for long hours. Players can multi-task and experience lag-free gameplay by playing MARVEL SNAP on a bigger screen of your PC with BlueStacks using a keyboard and mouse.
