Monster GO! Beginners Guide: Understanding the Basic Gameplay Systems and Mechanics
Monster GO! is one of the few actually good-looking Idle games to roll out in 2024! It features a 3D modelled and animated thematic environment which brings all characters in their natural elements. The game plays out in a minimalist portrait-orientation for players. Players can enjoy Monster GO! on a bigger screen of their PC or laptop for an enhanced gaming experience. For new adventurers, this beginner’s guide will act like a handbook, briefly explaining about all the important gameplay systems. Let’s begin!
Understanding the Gameplay Mechanics of Monster GO!
Monster GO presents a wholesome environment for players to enjoy. It features a thematic backstory where the monsters started rebelling against humans and stealing their loot. Protect your city’s loot and fortify your defenses as you engage in thrilling warfare against hordes of monsters. The core gameplay revolves around clearing the adventure mode chapters and stages within them. You will get access to 2 types of upgrades on the battle screen – Archer level on the right-hand side, and Wall upgrade on the left-hand side.
You can click on any of them to max out their stats. It’s imperative that you keep a balance between both types of upgrades. There’s also chapter quests and general progression quests that you can complete for additional resources. In the middle of it all, you will encounter the hot balloon. This balloon contains juicy resources for you and it regenerates over time, regardless if you’re online or not. It’s a great way to get increased resources and further establish Monster GO! as a casual player friendly game.
The combat system is also quite unique in its own right. It features a real-time combat system wherein hordes of monsters charge at you from all directions. Luckily, you’ve got the high ground and the walls are barricaded. Your goal is to eliminate all monsters before they are able to break your defenses and purge the kingdom. You will have access to different types of archers and troops that you deploy to fight the monsters. Additionally, you can also deploy different heroes and use their abilities to your advantage. Lastly, you will also unlock defense turrets at later stages of the game, enabling even more firepower to counter the monster attack.
What are Heroes in Monster GO?
Heroes are essentially soldiers that have gained advanced abilities than regular troops. These heroes are capable enough to destroy hordes of monsters alone, thanks to their high base stats and lucrative abilities. Heroes are given a base rarity that decides their base stats and power level. In general, the higher the rarity, the better the base stats, and vice-versa. Players can get stronger heroes via the innate gacha system. There are different kinds of banners available for you to choose from.
The Gacha System of Monster GO!
Like mentioned before, players can get access to new heroes and fortification items from the gacha system. It unlocks after you beat Stage 7 of Chapter 1. It is denoted by the card’s icon on the main screen. Click on it to open and view the different types of banners! Each banner is different from one another and features new heroes or items. Players can make the summons using different types of currencies as well. These are as follows –
- Normal Summon Scroll – Obtained through quests, used for Basic summons
- More Summon Scroll – Obtained through shop purchases, used for Gem summons.
- Friendship Points – Obtained through friend gifting, used for Friendly summons.
Much like any other gacha game, there exists multiple summoning banners. Each banner is unique from another as it incorporates different types of mechanics and uses different currencies. Here is a list of all the summoning banners available at the time of global launch:
- Gem Summoning Banner – Players can summon on this banner by either using More Summon scrolls or by using their gems to purchase the former scrolls.
