In NBA 2K24, Virtual Currency or VC is the currency used in the game. It can be acquired from various game modes in NBA 2K24 and can be spent on various content such as but not limited to MyPLAYER attributes, virtual goods, apparel, and animation packages (i.e., dunk packages). VC is different from MT or MyTEAM Points, which is another currency used only for the MyTEAM mode. 

If you want to step up your game in NBA 2K24 then you must have a lot of VC to spend. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to accrue VC in the game and in this article, we’re going to discuss them. Keep in mind that you must be connected to the internet to acquire VC (and MT). If you haven’t done so already, you can check out this review of NBA 2K24 if you plan on getting the game.

Method #1: Battle Pass

If you are an avid player of NBA 2K24, then buying the battle pass to get VC may be worth it. 

The season pass not only gives you a large amount of VC out of the box but it also gives you other cool rewards like cosmetics, new players, XP boosts, and much more. NBA 2K24 offers two tiers of the season pass: the Pro Pass and the Hall of Fame Pass. The Pro Pass costs 9.99 USD and gives you access to 40 levels of earnable premium rewards, four additional season pass rewards which are automatically redeemed, and up to 45,000 VC. The Hall of Fame Pass costs 19.99 USD and includes everything in the Pro Pass as well as a 15% XP booster, 10 level skips, and an additional automatic reward. 

Note that you must completely level up the battle pass to get all the VC rewards. If you play NBA 2K24 a lot, then this should be a quick and easy task for you. However, if you do not have plenty of free time to play then you may want to consider the other methods.

Method #2: Daily Pick ‘Em

For this method, you’ll have to go to The City which is an explorable area set in a beautiful beach area filled with basketball courts and even a manager’s office, a theater, your own house, and more buildings. Unfortunately, The City is only available in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of NBA 2K24.

Head over to the beach in The City and you should find Daily Pick ‘Em machines. Interacting with the machine allows you to predict who will win in each day on the real-life NBA schedule and earn VC. With Daily Pick ‘Em, you can earn 100-200 VC and you can get even more if there are a lot of games you can make predictions on. Make it a habit to go to The City and use the Daily Pick ‘Em machine to maximize your VC earnings.

Method #3: Daily Affiliation Reward

This method requires you to go to The City again.

Near the entrance to the beach, there are two spinnable wheels that you can interact with to earn rewards. You can only spin the wheel if you join an affiliation. There are two affiliations that you can join in The City: RISE and ELITE. You can join either affiliation by talking to either Chris Manning or ShakeDown who are both found near the beach entrance as well. After you join an affiliation, you must finish their objectives and complete an initiation to be able to redeem a daily spin. These objectives include winning games, scoring points (if you join ELITE), or getting assists and high teammate grades (if you join RISE). Having a friend in the same affiliation can make it easier to complete these objectives.

Method #4: Missions

NBA 2K24 has a lot of missions that you can complete for rewards and one of those rewards is VC.

Missions are categorized into Main, Side, and Season. Here is a list of side missions that give you VC upon completion.

Under side missions, there are endorsement missions which reward you with a lot of VC. Here are some endorsement missions that you can complete.

• Ruffles Endorsement Deal – 1100 VC
• 2K Endorsement Deal – 1200 VC

Completing missions is your best shot at earning a lot of VC if you do not have access to The City nor cannot afford both the time and money for the season pass.

Method: #5: MyCAREER

The MyCAREER mode is arguably the most reliable way to earn VC. However, you may not know that the amount of VC you earn is tied to the difficulty you set.

Pro is the default difficulty, and it gives you 100% VC for each completed match. Lowering the difficulty to Rookie only gives you 30% VC. Upping the difficulty to Hall of Fame gives you 160% VC. Choose the difficulty that you enjoy. Playing a difficulty that is too hard for you just to earn more VC will only stress you out. The default Pro difficulty isn’t that bad as you can earn about 1000 VC with every five-minute quarter. Additionally, you can also try going to team training after completing a match and do drills. Afterwards, go back to the arena and play another match to earn more VC.

Method #6: VC Microtransactions

If every method in this list is too tedious for you, then buying VC directly is the quickest way to get them.

You should only treat this method as a last resort. Only buy VC if you legitimately do not have time to grind for VC but desperately want to purchase something with VC. Also keep in mind that the VC you purchase is only usable in NBA 2K24. You cannot use your VCs in NBA 2K24 in previous or future NBA 2K games. Only buy the amount of VC that you are certain you’re going to spend. If you’re going to buy 5,000 VC, then make sure you spend the entire 5,000 because that will not carry over to the other games.
