Choosing your Class in Ragnarok V: Returns

One of the more daunting decisions that players will need to make as soon as they create an account is to choose a class. A class is ideally defined as a distinct character, complete with multiple active and passive abilities and a unique playstyle. At the time of writing, there are a total of 6 classes to choose from:

  • Swordsman – Possesses strong physical attack and physical defense, and leads the battle from the front. The satellite city of Izlude is the core training site of outstanding swordsmen, and they are famous for fighting to the end without retreat no matter how strong their enemies are.
  • Magician – Gifted students with intelligence and excellent ability to sense the mana that exists inside a person are nurtured as Mages. The Mages who grew up with systematic education from the magic city, Geffen, are those who endlessly study and crave knowledge even after gaining absolute insight into the elements that exist in the world.
  • Thief – The members of the Thieves Guild, mainly composed of orphans from the back alleys, are often small and physically not strong. However, they are agile and possess sharp judgment skills to excel in chaotic battles. As such, the Kingdom of Rune-Midgarts strongly encourages thieves to apply to become warriors.
  • Archer – They are known for their bow handling skills, outstanding dexterity, and sharp sights. Many great archers are from a small and mysterious town called Payon and many people come to Payon to learn archery or to develop their skills beyond their current levels.
  • Acolyte – The ones with exceptional holy abilities served God since childhood and were brought to battle to follow the teachings of God. Ever since, they focus on healing through praying and providing buffs to allies rather than attacking to hurt enemies.
  • Merchant – Many people questioned the Merchants’ engagement in the recruiting of Kingdom warriors, who value money above everything else. Nonetheless, their values have not changed. Even in battle, money needs to flow someplace, and they were confident that they could make a fortune through war.

Each class in Ragnarok V: Returns has access to multiple skills, some of which are active and the rest are passive. Active skills can be seen on the bottom right-hand side of the screen, and can be activated at the tap of a button. The game doesn’t use an action combat system and instead you will need to manually target a monster. Your abilities are guaranteed to hit the enemy since the game uses a tab-targeting combat system wherein you need to mark the enemy. Passive abilities remain active throughout the duration of combat. Players can select which abilities they want to equip their characters according to their own whims from the “Skill” menu.

Questing

Ragnarok V: Returns is an open-world MMO, which means there is bound to be tons of questing. The game features a variety of quests that players can embark upon from the comfort of anywhere. You can view the quest locations from the mini-map as they are marked according to different colors. The blue colored quests are “main” quests and are directly correlated to how far you have progressed in the game. The yellow colored side quests are not as important to complete but offer generous rewards. The purple colored “class” quests are pertaining to your class and job progression in the game.

Partake in Daily Dungeons

The dungeon system is one of the primary aspects that distinguishes Ragnarok V: Returns from other MMORPGs. It’s a game mode in which you go into particular places to battle monsters and gather precious items. There are daily, infinite, and event dungeons, but your current concentration should concentrate on the daily dungeons.

You can perform daily dungeons three times per day, so don’t skip any of them to maximize your benefits. Use all three instances provided by the game to fully utilize this feature. The boss you meet in these dungeons may change depending on the day, so be prepared for diversity.

Players can enjoy playing Ragnarok V: Returns on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
