RAID Shadow Legends Clan Boss Guide A Journey from Easy to Ultra-Nightmare Difficulty

The Clan Boss is one of the most important and rewarding challenges in RAID: Shadow Legends. Beating the Clan Boss daily earns you top-tier rewards like shards, legendary tomes, and powerful gear. But progressing from Easy all the way up to Ultra-Nightmare isn’t something that happens overnight. It requires smart champion choices, mastering team compositions, gear optimization, and constant improvements. In this guide, we’ll walk you step-by-step through how to progress through every difficulty level — Easy, Normal, Hard, Brutal, Nightmare, and Ultra-Nightmare! We have also shared some tips on building a team that can eventually 1-key the highest stages. Let’s begin!
Understanding the Clan Boss Mechanics
As of 2025, there are 2 different clan bosses in RAID: Shadow Legends – Demon Clan Boss and Hydra Clan Boss. This guide is going to be specifically for the Demon Clan Boss that unlocks after you join a clan instantly. Keep in mind, if you are a new player, then always prioritize building a team to defeat the Demon Clan Boss as it gives more generous rewards on a daily basis. Plus, you get keys for it every 6 hours. In total, players can fight the clan boss 4 times per day if they are active enough to utilize all the Clan Boss keys.
Before we dive into team building, it’s important to understand how the Clan Boss fight works:
- The Clan Boss is unbeatable; you fight to deal as much damage as possible before your team falls.
- The higher the difficulty, the more health, defense, and damage the Boss has.
- Your reward chest quality improves based on the amount of damage you deal.
- Each difficulty level requires a minimum number of total clan keys to defeat the boss for maximum rewards.
The key elements you need in your team:
- Decrease Attack debuff (to survive longer)
- Decrease Defense or Weaken debuff (to deal more damage)
- Poison (very strong source of consistent damage)
- Unkillable or Block Damage buffs (for advanced strategies)
- Counterattack or Ally Attack abilities (to maximize attacks per turn)
- Speed tuning (making your team take turns in the right order)
Clan Boss Easy Difficulty Preparation and Team Building
When you first start RAID, you’ll probably be thrown into the Easy difficulty by your Clan. Your goal is to survive until Turn 10–15 and deal as much damage as possible, aiming to use both keys for maximum rewards. Here’s are some tips on how to approach the fight:
- Use your best 5 or 6-star champions, even if they aren’t ideal.
- Focus on survivability and healing.
- Bring champions with Poison, HP burn, or Turn Meter control.
Recommended Champions
- Kael (starter champion with poison on his A1)
- Warmaiden (Decrease Defense)
- Apothecary (Speed boost and healing)
- Frozen Banshee (if available for Poison application)
- High Khatun (speed aura)
Gear Focus:
- Lifesteal sets (very important early on)
- Speed sets (so you move faster than the Boss)
- Accuracy (to land debuffs)
Clan Boss Hard-Brutal Difficulty Preparation and Team Building
At this point, Easy and Normal bosses will feel too simple, and your Clan may progress into Hard or even Brutal difficulties. Although the difficulty is increased, so should your account power. When you’re transitioning to higher difficulties, speed stat will need to be prioritized on your champions. Around 170–180 speed for Hard. Around 190–200 speed for Brutal. You will also need to do the following changes to all champions in the team:
- Full 6-star Level 60 team — 5-star champions start struggling badly.
- Masteries unlocked — You must farm Minotaur’s Labyrinth to get full masteries.
- Dedicated debuffers — Decrease Attack is essential here.
- Clan Boss-specific builds — Consider building champs specifically to survive and deal sustained damage.
Recommended Champions
- Frozen Banshee (still top-tier Poisoner for Hard/Brutal)
- Aothar (good Poison and survivability)
- Rhazin Scarhide (Decrease Defense and Weaken)
- Tayrel (Decrease Attack and Decrease Defense)
- Jareg (Ally Protection and Decrease Attack)
Gear Focus:
- Still prioritize Lifesteal, but now Accuracy and Defense stats matter even more.
- Speed tune to have your team cycle buffs and debuffs reliably.
Clan Boss Nightmare Difficulty Preparation and Team Building
Nightmare difficulty marks a major milestone in your Clan Boss journey. Now, mistakes in gear or team setup are punished severely. This is due to several reasons – the Boss hits much harder, Speed tuning becomes mandatory, and buff management becomes critical (buffs like Increase Defense, Block Debuffs, etc.). Do not worry, although you will need to fulfill some critical goals to surpass this difficulty. At this difficulty, you will likely need to build a team around specific champions with unique mechanics. Some examples are as follows:
- Mandatory Decrease Attack (your entire team will die too quickly without it).
- Solid Poison application (to deal passive damage each turn).
- Unkillable Buffs (to start using “unkillable teams” if you have the right champs).
- Speed tuning to perfection (sync turn meters carefully).
Recommended Champions
- Maneater (Unkillable on a teamwide scale)
- Pain Keeper (help enable budget unkillable teams)
- Skullcrusher (Counterattack)
- Sandlashed Survivor (Damage mitigation)
- Sepulcher Sentinel (Block Debuffs, Decrease Attack)
Gear Focus:
- 220–230+ speed depending on your team setup.
Clan Boss Ultra Nightmare Difficulty Preparation and Team Building
Ultra-Nightmare is the ultimate test of your Clan Boss team building. It’s where the real endgame loot comes from: sacred shards, legendary books, and endgame accessories. If you are able to clear this stage 1 time, you can aim to 1-key Ultra-Nightmare with the right setups. At this difficulty, you will need to fully branch into of the following playstyles:
- Full Unkillable team OR Maximum Damage Composition.
- Perfect speed tuning to avoid Boss Stuns wrecking your team.
- Counterattack or Ally Attack setups to maximize damage output.
- Champion Revivers (in non-unkillable teams) or insane sustain mechanics.
Recommended Champions
- Maneater (one of the best Clan Boss champions)
- Doompriest (passive healing and debuff cleansing)
- Geomancer (reflect damage and burns)
- Tyrant Ixlimor (Burns and Damage Reduction)
- Krisk the Ageless (premium tank support)
- Helicath (Block Damage buff enabler)
- Sepulcher Sentinel (Block Debuffs, Decrease Attack)
Gear Focus:
Again, speed is the main focus when gearing your champions. The speed can vary depending on the type of team you are building:
- Unkillable teams: one at 250+ speed, one at 190–210.
- Traditional teams: everyone synced around 170–190 with exact tuning.
