RAID: Shadow Legends has been on a slow uphill for the past few months as the 14th-year celebrations of Plarium are underway! However, that is not stopping the 4-year-old turn-based RPG to release new legendary champions via its popular fusion events. For June 2023, the legendary champion Greathoof Loriaca was made available to all players in a rough 20-day long event consisting of multiple events and tournaments. RAID: Shadow Legends is available to be downloaded and installed as a free-to-play game on both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

In this article, we are going to study Greathoof Loriaca and her usability in different areas of the game. First things first, being a legendary grade champion, Greathoof Loriaca exudes great base stats at an Attack of 452, HP of 7365, and 486 Defense at base Level 1. These stats will only improve as you level her up. Coming to her overall skillset, it’s quite mediocre in comparison to the likes of previous fragment fusion champions. While the community has commonly called out the weakness in her kit, she still seems to fill a small niche. She is the only champion in the game that can provide a Block debuff buff and increase the turn-meter for all allies. Sadly, this unique skill isn’t anything that can be used anywhere except your usual dungeons or the Doom Tower.

Further, her abilities and their damage scale with her base Attack stat. This counteracts her productivity as a utility support champion. Hence, do not expect her to do much damage at all. Instead, Greathoof Loriaca is best built as a tanky and speedy support. We will get more in-depth regarding her gearing preferences in a different section. Greathoof Loriaca Champion Skills

Greathoof Loriaca is an Attack-based Spirt affinity legendary champion from the Skinwalkers faction. Her skill set is on the more average side of things, and her only utility in the game feels in PvE game modes.

Here is a list of Greathoof Loriaca’s skills:

Deprive (Active)

Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. Each hit has a 40% chance of stealing 1 random buff.

Level 2: Damage +5%

Level 3: Buff/Debuff Chance +5%

Level 4: Damage +5%

Level 5: Buff/Debuff Chance +5%

Greathoof Stampede (Active)

Attacks all enemies. Has a 75% chance of placing a 50% [Decrease RES] debuff for 2 turns.

Fills this Champion’s Turn Meter by 10% for each [Decrease RES] debuff placed by this skill.

Level 2: Buff/Debuff Chance +10%

Level 3: Buff/Debuff Chance +15%

Level 4: Cooldown -1

Dance of War (Active)

Places a [Block Debuffs] buff on all allies for 2 turns. Also fills the Turn Meters of all allies by 20%

Level 2: Cooldown -1

Level 3: Cooldown -1

Hoofbeats (Passive)

Fills this Champion’s Turn Meter by 5% each time an ally buff is removed, transferred, stolen, or expires.

Greathoof Loriaca Mastery Guide

In this section, we will be giving out the recommended masteries for Greathoof Loriace in both PvE and PvP game modes. For the former, you would likely want to use Warmaster as the end-game mastery since she does not have any multi-hitting attacks that can make use of Giantslayer. Also, you would likely want to go the Defense Tree route for giving her some bulk to withstand the waves of enemies. For PvP game modes, it’s much more preferred to go with the Support tree secondary to help with inflicting those crucial decreased resistance debuffs on all enemies. Let’s take a look at the masteries in detail.

Greathoof Loriaca General PVE Masteries

OFFENSE MASTERY TREE

Deadly Precision: Critical Rate +5%

Keen Strike: Critical Damage +10%

Heart of Glory: Increases damage inflicted by 5% when attacking with full HP

Single Out: Increases damage inflicted to targets with less than 40% hp by 8%

Life Drinker: Heals by 5% of the damage inflicted when attacking with 50% HP or less.

Bring It Down: Increases damage by 6% when attacking targets having higher MAX HP

Wrath of the Slain: Increases damage by 5% for each dead ally, up to 10%.

Methodical: Increases the damage inflicted by this champion’s default skill by 2% each time it is used in battle. Stacks across each round in a battle, up to 10%.

Warmaster: Has a 60% chance of inflicting bonus damage when attacking. Bonus damage is equal to 10% of the target Champion’s MAX HP or 4% of the target’s MAX HP when attacking Bosses. Bonus damage can only occur once per Skill and does not count as an extra hit. Damage based on: [Enemy MAX HP].

DEFENSE MASTERY TREE

Tough Skin: Defense + 75.

Blastproof: Decreases damage from AoE attacks by 5%.

Resurgent: Has a 50% chance to remove 1 random debuff from this Champion when they lose 25% of their MAX HP or more from a single enemy skill.

Delay Death: Reduces the damage this Champion receives from a specific enemy by 0.75% with each hit taken from that enemy, Damage reduction stacks up to 6% for each enemy.

Retribution: Has a 50% chance to counterattack when this Champion loses 25% of their MAX HP or more from a single enemy skill.

Deterrence: Has a 20% chance to counterattack an enemy when they apply a [Stun], [Sleep], [Fear], [True fear] or [Freeze] debuff on an ally. Cooldown: 1 turn.

Greathoof Loriaca PVP Masteries

DEFENSE MASTERY TREE

Tough Skin: Defense + 75.

Rejuvenation: Increases the amount of healing and the value of [Shield] buffs this Champion receives by 5%.

Improved Parry: Decreases damage received by this Champion by 8% when this Champion is hit with a critical hit.

Resurgent: Has a 50% chance to remove 1 random debuff from this Champion when they lose 25% of their MAX HP or more from a single enemy skill.

Wisdom of Battle: Has a 30% chance of placing a [Block Debuffs] buff on this Champion for 1 turn when [Stun], [Sleep], [Fear], [True fear] or [Freeze] debuffs expire on this Champion.

Stubbornness Increases RESIST by 10 for each debuff on this champion, Stacks up to 30%. 

Retribution: Has a 50% chance to counterattack when this Champion loses 25% of their MAX HP or more from a single enemy skill.

SUPPORT MASTERY TREE

Pinpoint Accuracy: Accuracy + 10.

Charged Focus: Increases ACC by 20 when this Champion has no skills on Cooldown.

Arcane Celerity: Has a 30% chance of increasing the Turn Meter by 10% when a debuff cast by this Champion is removed or expires.

Cycle of Magic: Has a 5% chance of decreasing the cooldown of a random skill by 1 turn at the start of every turn.

Lore of Steel: Increases the Set Bonuses of Basic Artifact Sets by 15%. This increase is multiplicative, not additive.

Lasting Gifts: Has a 30% chance to extend the duration of any buff cast by this Champion by 1 turn. It will not extend [Block Damage], [Unkillable], or [Revive on Death] buffs.

Master Hexer: Has a 30% chance to extend the duration of any debuff cast by this Champion by 1 turn. It will not extend [Stun], [Sleep], [Freeze], or [Provoke] debuffs.

Eagle Eye: Accuracy +50.

Greathoof Loriaca Artifact and Stat Recommendations

Greathoof Loriaca is not that hard to build, just like the majority of the Supportive champions in the game. She requires the same key stats such as Speed, Accuracy, Health%, and Defense%. We recommend building Greathoof Loriaca for PvE first and if you have a stable PvE team for most of the content like dungeons and affinity keeps then we recommend moving on to focus on PvP. Feel free to take pleasure in testing out different builds and masteries to get the feel of your champion.

Greathoof Loriaca is an average supportive champion who brings a new unique ability where she can put up Block Debuff buff for 2 turns on top of increasing the turn meter of all allies by 20%. She seems to be perfectly suitable for teams that require protection from debuffs and are inherently slow in speed. Here are some general team compositions we feel Greathoof Loriaca fits in quite well:

1. Greathoof Loriaca + Arbiter + Madame Serris + Lydia (Best Cleave team)
2. Greathoof Loriaca + Ninja + Apothecary + Arbiter (F2P cleave Arena team)
