What are Artifact Sets in RAID: Shadow Legends?
Artifacts and accessories are equipment pieces that bolster your champions’ stats and abilities. Each champion can be equipped with six artifacts and three accessories, each serving distinct roles:
Artifacts:
- Weapon: Increases Attack (ATK).
- Helmet: Boosts Health Points (HP).
- Shield: Enhances Defense (DEF).
- Gauntlets: Variable primary stats.
- Chestplate: Variable primary stats.
- Boots: Variable primary stats.
Accessories:
- Ring: Provides flat HP, ATK, or DEF.
- Amulet: Offers Resistance or Critical Damage.
- Banner: Grants Accuracy, Resistance, or flat stats.
Each piece contributes to a champion’s overall effectiveness, and selecting the appropriate gear is paramount. All artifacts and accessories impart some stats to your champions when equipped, and these stats are different from the inherent base stats every champion has. To view the stats of any gear piece, simply click on it. There are 2 types of stats – main stats and sub stats. Main stats are fixed, while sub-stats can be changed or are produced randomly depending on the rarity of the gear piece. All gear pieces from all sets are assigned a base rarity:
- Uncommon
- Common
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
- Mythic
These rarities determine the amount of sub-stats any piece of gear will have. For example, an Uncommon rarity gear piece has no substats but can gain some when levelled up. On the other hand, a legendary gear piece already has 4 sub-stats which can be enhanced randomly upon being levelled up. Artifacts can be upgraded just like champions, although you will need Silver resources. Each gear piece can be upgraded to level 16 maximum, and further refined. After being levelled up every 4 times, depending on the rarity of the gear piece, it will gain either new substat or get its existing sub-stats enhanced. The priority is given to gaining a new substat if the gear piece is of a lower rarity.
How to Gear your Champions Efficiently?
To put it simply, there is no one perfect build that fits all champions in the game. The gearing process is more customizable and tailored to each champion in your inventory. To gear any champion, firstly you need to learn about the stats that will greatly help them. We would recommend ascertaining the class of the champion first. For example, a Support type champion generally prefers having more HP, Speed, and Accuracy stats. Similarly, an Attack type champion prefers more Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Attack stats to maximum DPS. Learn about the champion’s core kit and class before imparting any piece of gear.
Attack Champions:
Primary Stats: Attack%, Critical Rate, Critical Damage.
Recommended Artifact Sets: Offense, Critical Rate, Lifesteal.
Goal: Maximize damage output.
Defense Champions:
Primary Stats: Defense%, HP%, Speed.
Recommended Artifact Sets: Defense, Speed, Retaliation.
Goal: Enhance durability and sustain.
Support Champions:
Primary Stats: HP%, Defense%, Speed, Accuracy.
Recommended Artifact Sets: Speed, Accuracy, Lifesteal.
Goal: Ensure survivability and effective debuff application.
HP Champions:
Primary Stats: HP%, Defense%, Speed.
Recommended Artifact Sets: Life, Speed, Stalwart.
Goal: Maximize health pool and resilience.
What is Artifact Set Effects?
Once you have determined the preferred stats it requires, next you will want to determine which gear sets you can equip on them. There are over 30 distinct artifact sets, each boasting different set effects. When Champions have enough Artifacts from the same Set, they will receive a special Set Bonus. Certain Artifact and Accessory Sets require a varying number of parts to complete:
1-Sets: These require one accessory to complete the set.
2-Sets: These require two artifacts of the same kind to complete a set.
4-Sets: These require four Artifacts of the same kind to complete a Set.
Variable Sets: These unique Sets give varied bonuses based on how many Artifacts and Accessories are equipped—from 1 to 9 pieces.
Artifact Sets can be mixed, allowing a single Champion to equip three 2-Sets, a 4-Set, and a 2-Set while benefiting from the Set Bonuses from each. Alternatively, if using Variable Sets, you can mix in odd numbers of pieces while still receiving Set Bonuses. Set bonuses stack and are cumulative, therefore wearing three of the same Set will result in a threefold increase in impact. For example, a single Life Set provides a 15% HP bonus, whereas three Life Sets provide a 45% HP bonus.
Artifact and Accessory Sets offer a variety of bonuses:
- Basic Artifact Sets grants Stat boosts to the wearer’s base stats.
- Advanced Artifact Sets give a wide range of effects, such as skill adjustments (such as the ability to apply debuffs) or even behaviour alterations (such as the ability to get an extra turn).
- Accessory Sets can give a variety of benefits, such as skill changes (such as stopping a skill from going on cooldown after usage) or even behavior adjustments (such as the ability to counterattack when attacked).
