Saint Seiya Awakening Combat Guide: Prepare For Battle With The Right Tactics
Battles in Saint Seiya Awakening can be quite challenging, especially when you reach the mid-game phase. Yes, they start like “cute” looking anime-fights but they transform into deadly and bloody battles pretty soon. If you don’t know what to do, defeating your enemies can be harder than you expect. Well, we are here to help you as we did with all of our other Saint Seiya Awakening articles. This time, we will show you the basics of the combat system and show you how to win every fight by forming the correct team. Let’s start: We have hundreds of fights to win!
Forming The Perfect Team
Your party can host six heroes in total and once you reach level 18, all of your party slots will be unlocked. Picking the right heroes for your team is quite important: Saint Seiya Awakening does not have classic hero classes (like tanks, healers, etc.) but all of the heroes can undertake certain roles, due to their skillsets. In this context, there are two important things to know:
- There is no single “best team” for everything. You can create six different lineups and use different heroes for each of them.
- You should pick heroes for every lineup based on their skills and try to create a team that is able to complement each other. We will explain this in detail below.
This is the lineup screen, we can create 6 different formations for 6 different teams and record them.
And from this screen, you can check the skills of your team members.
Looking For Links & Picking The Correct Skills
In order to create the perfect lineup, you need to look for two things: Skills and links that complement each other. Each of your heroes can bring something different to the battlefield because their skills are not the same. Some of them can buff the other party members, some can debuff enemies, and some of them can damage more than one target at once. We already have a guide for the best heroes in the game, but even a team of the “best and rarest” heroes cannot perform well on the battlefield, if their skills do not complement each other.
So, what is our suggestion and what do we mean by “complementing”? Well, as mentioned above, Saint Seiya Awakening has no standard classes, but we can still find “tanks, damage dealers, and healers”. Just check the skills of your heroes and make sure that:
- There is at least one or two AOE damage dealer in your party
- There is at least one or two single target damage dealer in your party
- There are at least two buffers and debuffers (support classes) in your party
This hero has a “shield” buff and can protect all team members from enemy attacks.
This one can buff all the other party members and make their attacks deal more damage.
And this one here can damage multiple enemies at once.
Of course, complementary skills are not the only important thing – you also need to look for the “link” between your heroes. This feature basically means that some of your heroes enjoy being in the same team and can offer you various battle bonuses if you place them in the same lineup. For example, linked heroes will assist to each other’s attacks and make them more effective.
Different links can give different battle bonuses. You can check the linking opportunities of each hero from its profile page and see what kind of bonuses you can get by placing two heroes into the same lineup.

With linked heroes that have complementary skills, you can win any battle easily.
The fights themselves are pretty basic: Saint Seiya Awakening uses a turn-based battle system, which means you pick which attack/buff/debuff to use when it is your turn. You have a basic attack with no cooldown and special skills that deal more damage but with a cooldown. As long as you understand how linked heroes work and how their skills can implement each other, the battles are not that hard: Just pick the right skill when it is your turn. And remember that the BlueStacks Macro Recorder feature can help you in this regard: You can create different macros for different skill-chains.
