Solo Leveling: Arise Gacha Guide – Understanding the Core Mechanics
Solo Leveling: Arise is one of the most anticipated mobile ARPGs to be launched this year! Featuring iconic characters from the Korean manhwa/anime IP of the same name, players can traverse through open-ended dungeons and participate in thrilling battles. For those unaware, Solo Leveling: Arise incorporates a gacha system that allows players to recruit the strongest Hunters in-game. We will decode the entire system and break down its mechanics in simple terms for beginners to understand. Let’s begin!
The Gacha System of Solo Leveling: Arise
Solo Leveling: Arise has an intricate gacha system that unlocks right after you finish the tutorial. Players will be rewarded with a free 10-pull that they can use to get new Hunters right away! Keep in mind that the gacha system uses new currencies that need to be collected from completing quests, pre-registration rewards, events, and many other game modes. The highest-tier character or weapon available in the Gacha System is an SSR Hunter or Weapon.
There is a wide variety of hunters in the game, and they are all excellent in their specialty. Interestingly, the Gacha System is primarily concerned with collecting hunters for a range of characters that belong to distinct classes and elements. Additionally, some hunters are available in different rarities, such as SSR or SR.
Solo Leveling: ARISE methodically exposes key people and teams that are essential to various story events as you progress through the main story tasks. This approach emphasizes the value of putting together the ideal team and using calculated strategies while guaranteeing a seamless and engaging story experience. The drop rates for hunters and weapons in the gacha system are as follows:
- SSR Hunters and Weapons – 1.2%
- SR Hunters and Weapons – 8.8%
- R Hunters and Weapons – 90%
As we can calculate from above, the highest rarity, Hunters and weapons are available at the lowest drop rate. In contrast, the lowest rarity hunters and weapons are available at the highest drop rates. While the rates may be better than some games in the same genre (we’re looking at you, Genshin Impact), the overall sentiment among the community is negative. Since this is a mixed gacha banner where players can get both weapons and hunters, the chances of only getting Hunters are even lower at only 0.6%. Further, the currency gain is not proportional to the new Hunter launches, making judicious use of available resources a key factor.
Pity System
The Pity mechanic in Solo Leveling: ARISE is called Draw Support. After a predetermined number of draws, this mechanism guarantees that you will have an opportunity to obtain an SSR hunter/weapon. In particular, the SSR guarantee ensures that you will receive at least one SSR hunter/weapon within the allotted time frame, starting after 80 total draws.
Furthermore, the closer you go to the 64-draw mark, the more likely you are to receive an SSR item. This implies that your chances of getting an SSR item before the 80-draw barrier are increased. From the 64th draw onward, your chances of winning an SSR item increase by 5.8% with each succeeding draw. This increase is made incrementally until the 80th draw when the guaranteed SSR reduction is reached.
The Selection Draw
Selection Draw is a great mechanic that allows players to get more items. It comes in the form of a wishlist in other games, wherein you choose which character/weapons you want. The Selection Draw List is a unique list that facilitates the acquisition of uncommon goods or characters during drawing sessions. Strong SSR hunters like Baek Yoonho, Lim Tae Gyu, Hwang Dong Su, and others are among them. If you’d like, you can also select an SSR weapon from this list. The Draw Support also ties in with this selection draw, enabling you to get your desired SSR hunter/weapon. The mechanism works differently than most.
Each item in the Selection Draw is given a specific drop rate within the pool. When you hit the pool, it will randomly select an SSR item. In the end, it’s all about luck, as with the entire gacha system, but this mechanic is quite handy in targeting some specific SSR hunter/weapon.
The Ultimate Draw
Only limited-time hunters can be drawn from the Ultimate Draw banners. These banners become active for a short period, during which certain Hunters/Weapons are available at a higher drop rate. Sadly, these banners do not guarantee a 100% chance of obtaining the featured SSR hunter/weapon. Even if you manage to summon an SSR item, the chances of it being the featured hunter are only 50%. This chance increases each time you get an SSR item on the same banner, but it is not 100%.
