Stick Cricket Clash - A Guide to Character Cards
The most confusing part when you play Stick Cricket Clash is the inclusion of character cards in the game. These cards play a crucial role in the game because they dictate the playstyle of every match and how you and the enemy will outplay each other. Sadly, not everyone understands the importance of these cards and ends up not being able to choose their characters wisely. Most players just go with the recommended card or those that have the best stats in their lineup.
Card stats may have a huge impact on playing the game but they’re not always the determining factor when playing Stick Cricket Clash. In our Beginner’s Guide [BlueStacks’ Beginners Guide to Playing Stick Cricket Clash], we mentioned a lot of different gameplay mechanics that players need to keep in mind. In this case, the differences in each card will help you determine who you’ll want to play in your next match to increase your chances of claiming victory instead of just relying on simply hoping that you’ll get a high score when batting.
Choosing Your Cards
Choosing the best card to use in the game isn’t always about finding the cards that have the highest stats. If the stats between multiple characters aren’t too far between, you can implement a more reliable strategy when choosing which bowler or batter to use in a match that will increase your chances of coming out on top. Keep in mind that the biggest factor in winning the game is the player’s ability to hit high scores and prevent the enemy from being able to play at all.
The game surprisingly relies on a lot of hidden strategies that you might not see when you initially play the game. Successfully scoring against the enemy isn’t always about timing your hits. The batter’s striking style and stats will always impact your ability to score. Choose your bowler and batter according to your opponent’s choices. To do that, you’ll need to learn what you need to look out for during the selection stage.
Types of Bowlers
Bowlers are the pitchers of the game. As a player, you don’t control these units but instead rely on an AI to control them for you in terms of their actions. Bowler’s card stats will determine how they will throw the ball at the opponent batter so keep these in mind when choosing who you’ll use.
Bowling Types
Bowling types refer to the Seam Bowlers, Swing Bowlers, Spin Bowlers, and Allrounders. These terms refer to the style in which they throw the ball at the enemy batter. A seam bowler relies on accurately pitching the ball at the seams to make the opponent score fewer points since it’s harder to hit. A swing bowler relies on confusing the enemy batter by manipulating the curve of the ball to make them press the wrong button.
Spin bowlers are usually slow pitchers but they rely on making the ball bounce to confuse the enemy on when to hit. This usually forces them to press the button too early or too late. Allrounders don’t specialize in bowling since they are simply good at both batting and bowling. In terms of bowling, it’s better to choose from the first three bowling styles. At lower ranks, it’s better to choose Swing or Spin bowlers since newbies aren’t as good at reading ball direction.
Bowling Speeds
There are only two types of bowling speeds which are fast and slow. Fast bowlers are harder to predict but run the risk of the enemy batter having a higher success rate of scoring high because the ball can travel further when using the momentum of the bowler’s throw. Slow bowlers can manipulate the ball making it more confusing for the enemy batter to accurately hit.
Bowling speed is depending on the type of batter your enemy sends out. An enemy unit with lower timing will hate going against fast bowlers. Meanwhile, an enemy with lower power will hate a slow bowler because they usually can’t score 6 points. Make sure to wait for your opponent to choose their batter before revealing which bowler you plan to use.
Types of Batters
Batters are a less complicated choice for the player because it relies more on the person controlling the unit to hit the right buttons at the right time. However, you’ll also need to choose the right batter when it comes to Stick Cricket Clash because it’ll give you an easier time playing against specific bowlers.
Batting Styles
There are three types of batting styles which are the Creative, Elegant, and Powerful styles. Creative batters are able to swing their bats flexibly, allowing them to hit balls that try to hit the batter’s weak points. Elegant batting styles are much more controlled and accurate but sacrifice overall power. This means that the batter will have difficulty hitting higher scores when batting.
Powerful batters hit hard and fast. This is a batting style that’s meant for players to score as many SIXES as possible. However, this batting style is extremely vulnerable against bowlers who pitch outside the standard points because they most rely on winding up the bat, giving them very little room to control their movement. Choose your batter according to the bowler to give yourself a better chance at scoring.
Power & Timing
Power refers to their ability to strike the ball towards a longer distance. This gives them a higher chance at scoring SIXES that contribute to the overall score. Timing refers to the batter’s ability to bat as quickly as possible, regardless of how late the player presses their strike button. These are important because they dictate the batter’s ability to adjust to the opposing bowler’s style.
Most batters and bowlers have uniform stats that increase only when the cards are upgraded. It is more important to look at the card’s other stats such as their playing styles to understand how you can utilize or counter specific styles. Stick Cricket Clash makes the entire character roster available for viewing so it might be a good idea to study the cards first before attempting anything too serious.
