A Quick Look at Subway Surfer Blast’s Storyline
Jake, the main character of the Subway Surfer crew, has found their usual hangout spot to be a mess. It’s your job to assist Jake and friends not only to clean up the place but also deck it out with all sorts of decorations. You do this by blazing through the match-2 levels in order to gain stars, which you can spend on cleaning the hangout spot and purchasing upgrades.
Doesn’t sound complicated, right? That’s because it’s not! However, Jake and his friends need your help to get everything in order. If you’re ready to assist, then let’s start matching those blocks!
Subway Surfer Blast Game Mechanics
Sunway Surfer Blast is not unlike most match-2 games you’ve probably played in the past. As you play the first level, you’ll be faced with a ton of colorful blocks and pink balloons. The object of the beginning missions is to destroy all the balloons on the field.
So, how do you do this? Simple! Just tap or click on blocks with 1 or more adjacent blocks of the same color. When you do, the blocks will be destroyed, making room for more colorful blocks to cascade from the top.
What are Goals and Moves?
When you enter a level, you’ll find numbers on the top-left and top-right corners of your screen. Those numbers indicate your goal and remaining moves, respectively.
For the early missions, your goal is to destroy a certain number of water balloons and/or crates. The number will go down for each balloon or crate you destroy. Balloons and crates will explode when you match blocks adjacent to them. You’ll beat the level when the counter reaches zero.
The remaining moves number indicates how many more moves you can make before the level ends. Make sure you beat the level before the moves counter reaches zero, or you’ll have to redo the level! Don’t worry—it’s pretty simple to beat the levels before you have no more moves left… until the later levels, of course!
Getting Powerful Effects
The beginning stages of Subway Surfer Blast serve as a sort of tutorial to help total newbs figure out how to blast through the first stages. The text boxes will tell you what sort of effects you gain from destroying a certain number of blocks in a single move.
Here’s a quick rundown of the various effects and what they do:
Rocket (match 5-6 blocks in a single move): Destroy every block and balloon/crate in a single row or column.
Bomb (match 7-8 blocks in a single move): Destroys every block and balloon/crate around it.
Spray Can (match 9 or more blocks in a single move): Destroys every block on the field of the same color. The color is determined by the color of the matched blocks.
You can also mix and match the different effects. For instance, if you explode a rocket and a bomb in a single move, they will combine together to unleash multiple rockets in every direction, destroying entire columns and rows of blocks.
The number of powerful effects you can use is limitless. Bundle as many of them as you can together to create a destructive combination that clears the entire board and gets you past a level in mere seconds!
Using Power Skills
You may be wondering what the bottom row of icons does. Well, it’s pretty simple—those are your Power Skills.
The Power Skill ability varies between characters. Jake, the character you start off with, will plant 3 effects on the board randomly. They’ll help you clear the board faster.
The more blocks you destroy, the faster the Power Skills bar fills. When the bar is maxed, simply click on the Power Skill you wish to unleash!
Here’s a pro tip for you: when you gain the Boot Power Skill, you can use it to destroy a balloon or crate directly. That way, you can bring down your goal count without minimal planning! This will definitely come in handy when you make it to the later stages of Subway Surfers Blast!
Bypassing Limited Lives with Rerolling
Something you might not know about Subway Surfer Blast is that you have a finite number of lives. You lose a life when you cannot beat a level in the limited number of moves you have. When the life counter reaches zero, you’ll have to wait the following day to get more lives.
Alternatively, you can connect with your friends’ accounts and share lives. Or you can always spend IRL cash to purchase more lives at your leisure!
If spending money isn’t your thing, then perhaps you’ll enjoy BlueStacks’ Rerolling via Multi Instances. You can load numerous instances of Subway Surfers Blast and play them simultaneously. If you lose all lives in one instance, you can always redo the level in another!
Reduce Latency and Enjoy Smoother Gameplay
Not every computer or laptop is designed to play resource-intensive games at 200+ FPS. Not that Subway Surfers Blast is resource-intensive, but the numerous explosions can cause lag, especially when you have multiple instances running.
The good news is, you can overcome this problem with BlueStacks’ High FPS feature. Enjoy awesome explosions in the best possible FPS your computer can handle simply by enabling High Frame Rates.
