Tips & Tricks to Playing Tale of Elements: Survivors
There is no simple way to play Tale of Elements: Survivors as the game emphasizes enjoyment for all types of players. However, the game does provide a lot of new game mechanics that might confuse new users who are not familiar with the game genre that they introduced to the current generation of gamers. That being said, this generation isn’t halted by unfamiliar game mechanics because players always find a way to find tips and tricks that will help them overcome any challenge that comes their way.
Tales of Elements: Survivors provides a really great experience as compared to a lot of other mobile RPGs in the market because it allows players to make more of an impact on the gameplay rather than just relying on auto-quest or auto-combat mechanics to grind through the tough parts of the game. That being said, its more hands-on nature can really make or break a player’s experience and that’s why we’ll be talking about some tips and tricks that are necessary to give players an increased chance of succeeding long-term.
Rush the Campaign
Rushing the campaign is probably the most important thing that a new player can do in Tale of Elements: Survivors as it can be rewarding by doing so. During the first two chapters of the game, many features, such as the mercenary union where players can recruit new characters, are locked until the player completes a certain point of the main adventure. We’re not telling you to skip through the story, but you should aim at completing chapter 2, stage 5 at the end of your first day playing the game.
Once you’ve reached chapter 3 of the campaign, the game becomes a lot easier because you have access to most of the important features in the game. Completing each stage in the adventure takes a relatively short time even if you’re invested in the game’s story by reading out all of the texts. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you should always put a priority towards progressing through the campaign steadily and don’t stop doing at least 3 or more stages every day until your team simply can’t defeat the enemies anymore.
Complete Every Adventure at 100%
Even though we just emphasized rushing through the campaign, we still recommend that players complete each stage in their adventure to a complete 100% mark. Whenever you enter a dungeon, the player’s progress will be computed according to how much they have interacted with a specific stage. The ideal result is to get 95-100% completion so that you can get all the rewards available whenever you play through the dungeons and overcome all of the challenges that they laid out.
Each stage contains different interactable scenarios that don’t necessarily always lead to combat. Players must travel through the entire dungeon to make sure that they haven’t missed any of the rewards that they can claim. They can track their stage completion progress by taking a look at the upper-right side of their screen where the progress is recorded. Even if you get extra loot, those will be converted into gold which can be used to hire mercenaries or purchase new stuff at the shop.
Hire the Right Mercenaries!
Mercenaries are the heart of the gameplay in Tale of Elements: Survivors and no one can tell you otherwise that collecting powerful units will be one of the biggest priorities in the game. We’ve already compiled the highest prized characters in this game on our SP Mercenary Tier List, so check that out if you’re not sure which units you want to get. However, there is more to collecting mercenaries than knowing which ones are the best because the game won’t always give you what you want.
The best way to collect mercenaries is by collecting Reference Letters. These can be earned as a reward from the main campaign, quests, and events or by purchasing them directly using the game’s premium currency. As a new player, you’ll be given a ton of that so you can hire a lot of powerful mercenaries early on. Keep in mind that your account can only keep a certain number of mercenaries so don’t be afraid to reject mercenaries that are S tier or lower because there are a lot of chances to get stronger units later on.
Don’t “Auto-Select” Loot
After completing an adventure, players, unfortunately, can’t claim all of the loot that they earned throughout the dungeon. Players will only be able to take a certain number of the loot that they earn while the rest are converted into gold. For most players, they don’t really see this as a problem because the items they get early on aren’t really relevant. However, the game will make you quickly realize that if you haven’t been collecting the right items, you’ll most likely end up with suboptimal gear.
Tale of Elements: Survivors gives you the option to “auto-select” which gear will be taken. Some people think that the AI is capable of choosing the best items among the spoils but that really isn’t the case most of the time. It’s important for players to take items that they don’t own yet over everything else such as armor, accessory, or weapon pieces that their active mercenaries might need. Once you have duplicates, you can start dusting them off since there is no point in having more than two pieces of one type of gear.
Visit the Kitty Shop Often
The Kitty Shop is the game’s go-to store for all of your in-game purchases which include both premium items and standard merchandise. Generally, players should take a look at the “Sundries” tab of the shop because that is where the standard merchandise is sold which can be purchased using currency that you can farm in the game.
The items in The Kitty Shop resets every day so you should always dedicate some of your time to take a quick peek at what they might have to offer. The most important items that you’ll want to buy are the Exquisite Reference Letters that allow you to recruit high-rank mercenaries.
