Tales & Dragons: New Journey is an immersive Idle RPG that combines rich storytelling with strategic gameplay. Embark on a fairy tale adventure full of ups and downs. Complete quests and redeem the amazing rewards offered for your hard work. Being an Idle game, the core strategy lies in team formation and knowing the limitations of your squad. While weaker heroes can carry you through the early game, you are bound to summon stronger heroes via the gacha system. This guide will help you with exactly that! Let’s begin.

The Gacha System Explained

Being an Idle RPG, Tales & Dragons: New Journey allows players to summon for new heroes via the innate gacha system. Called “Wonder Castle” in official in-game terms, this system unlocks during the tutorial phase after you beat Chapter 1 Stage 2. Upon your first entry, you are guaranteed to get a 5-Star legendary hero Britney. While she’s not the worst, she’s certainly nowhere close to being the strongest. You can get many more stronger heroes by simply ploughing through the story stages and completing quests.  Get up to 20% cashback in nowbux gaming currency and big weekly rewards with every in-app purchase on games from the BlueStacks Store. Tales & Dragons: NewJourney - A Thorough Guide for the Gacha System

Keep in mind that the gacha system uses different currencies as opposed to other areas in the game. These currencies are specifically designed to summon for new heroes in the different banners that you must be seeing at the bottom of the screen. Each banner also has separate mechanics that we will discuss later in the guide. For starters, you should know that each hero in the game is assigned a base rarity according to which their base stats and quality of abilities are decided. The higher the rarity of the hero, the better it will perform. And, vice versa is also true. Hence, your goal should be to get as many 5-Star heroes as possible.

The rates of getting the different rarities of heroes are as follows:

  • 5-Star Hero – 5% probability of being summoned
  • 4-Star Hero – 15% probability of being summoned
  • 3-Star Hero – 80% probability of being summoned

For the sake of efficiency, we have not included the rates for getting 1-Star and 2-Star heroes as they are very weak and will eventually be used as fodder material. Plus, they are only available on the Common Summoning banner.

Gacha Banners Explained

Tales & Dragons: New Journey features a host of distinct summoning banners, each with their own set of rules and regulations. For starters, you will be mostly summoning on the Common and Special summoning banners. These both banners are permanent in nature. Let’s learn about all the summoning banners in Tales & Dragons: New Journey:

  • Common Banner – This banner allows players to summon for 1-5 star heroes at random. The rates of getting the highest rarity heroes (5-Star) are abysmally low at only 0.5%. Players will get 2 free summons on this banner every day after server reset. Summon Gem is the primary currency used to summon on this banner. There’s also a handy point system attached with this banner wherein players will get 1 Summon point for each summon they make. While this banner houses all the 5-Star heroes, the rates are horrible and it will likely take you a lot of luck to get them.
  • Special Banner – This banner allows players to summon for 3-5 star heroes at random. The rates of getting the highest rarity heroes (5-Star) are pretty good at 5%. Players do not get any daily free summons on this banner. Energy Gem is the primary currency used to summon on this banner. Alternatively, you can also use Diamonds. 2000 Diamonds are required for doing a 10-pull on this banner. Players will get 20 Summon points for each summon they make on this banner.
  • Friendly Banner – This banner allows players to summon for 2-5 star heroes at random. The rates of getting the highest rarity heroes (5-Star) are low at only 1%. Hearts are the primary currency used to summon on this banner. Players will get 20 Summon points for each summon they make. This banner is a great way to get new heroes in a free-to-play friendly manner.

Learn about the Different Gacha Currencies

Now that you’ve learned about the gacha system and banners, it’s time to discuss how to get the different summoning currencies required to summon on these banners. Each type of summoning currency is important and unique in their own right. Check them out:

  • Summon Gems – These powerful gems have magical powers embedded them in them to call forth deserving heroes. Players can use them only in the Common Banner to get new heroes. It costs 1 Summon Gem to summon 1 time on the banner, or 10 Summon Gems for a 10 pull. Players can get more Summon Gems via daily quests, mystery shop, discount shop, and events.
  • Energy Gems – These powerful gems are blessed with divine intervention, resulting in greater chances to get premium heroes. Players can use them only in the Special Banner to get new heroes. It costs 1 Energy Gem to summon 1 time on the banner, or 10 Energy Gems for a 10 pull. Players can get more Energy Gems via weekly quests, main quests, daily pack, weekly pack, item shop, exploration quests, ranked match, mystery shop, and events.
  • Diamonds – Diamonds are the core premium currency in Tales & Dragons: New Journey. Players can use Diamonds only in the Special Banner to get new heroes. It costs 200 Diamonds to summon 1 time on the banner, or 2000 Diamonds for a 10 pull. Players can get more Diamonds via adventure, daily quest, weekly quest, main quest, exploration quest, ranked match, achievement level, top-up, and events.
  • Hearts – Hearts are the currency acquired when players send and receive gifts to their in-game friends. Players can use them only in the Friendly Banner to get new heroes. It costs 100 Hearts to summon 1 time on the banner, or 1000 Hearts for a 10 pull. Players can get more hearts by simply adding more friends and exchanging hearts with them on a daily basis.

The Pity System Explained

In Tales & Dragons: New Journey, the pity system works differently than most other gacha games. A point system is set in place wherein gamers will get points based on the number of summons they make on the different banners. We’ve already discussed this system briefly in the previous sections but let’s refresh our memories.

The amount of points per summon players can get on the different banners are as follows:

  • Common Banner: 1 Point per summon
  • Special Banner: 20 Points per summon
  • Friendly Banner: 20 Points per summon
