Beginner Tips and Tricks for Tamashi: Rise of Yokai - How to Start Your Adventure on the Right Foot
Tamashi: Rise of Yokai is the newest mobile MMORPG to hit the global mobile market, set in the mystical world of Glamland, a colorful place with lots of different places to see and characters to meet as you journey across its vast expanses. Players in this game are put in control of their own demon hunters, warriors that are not only trained in killing yokai, powerful demonic spirits but also to befriend some of them and even add them to their forces. With your forces combined, it’s your job to power up and face the evil Demon King, whose presence in Glamland poses a major threat to the realm.
Before you head out and face your deadly nemesis, however, you’ll need to travel the land completing missions and powering up in preparation for the big battle. Your mission will take you to meet many different characters and face off against hordes of demons and other enemies, as well as collect a wide variety of treasures and items, all of which can be used to enhance your level, gear, and even your spirit companions.
There’s quite a lot to see and do in Tamashi: Rise of Yokai, and if you want to get the best start in this game, then you’ll need the tips and tricks that we’ve prepared for you in this guide.
Become a One-Person Army by Playing on BlueStacks
Despite its vast automation and botting features, there are challenges in Tamashi that will be beyond your own capabilities. In other words, unless you’re completely kitted out and have the best gear and upgrades, odds are that you’ll need outside help when tackling certain content. And this is without mentioning that, even if you could solo some of the tougher challenges, these always go by much faster if you have a squad to support you.
However, putting together a squad actually requires you to interact and coordinate with other players, especially for the tougher content, and finding good players in mobile games can often be an exercise in futility, as most would rather just activate auto-battle and let themselves get carried.
To save you some frustration in this game, we suggest playing Tamashi: Rise of Yokai on PC with BlueStacks, as this will give you access to the Instance Manager, a tool that lets you create multiple instances of our emulator, and use them to access the game with several different characters at the same time. In this sense, you can easily create groups using your own accounts, forgoing the need to rely on other players.
If anything, the Instance Manager could also be a useful tool for playing all three classes in the game at the same time. With this tool, you no longer have to decide on a main character or class, but can instead use the Instance Manager to play on all three classes, and use the game’s built-in automation to progress on all of them seamlessly.
Choosing the Right Class For Your Play Style
Nevertheless, playing on multiple characters simultaneously might not be your thing, and that’s totally fine. But if this is the case, then you need to pay attention to your class choice, as each of these have important differences in play style and approach. Luckily, there are only three to choose from in this title, so deciding might not be as difficult as in other games.
In a nutshell, each class can excel in certain contexts, and can also have a few shortcomings. Here’s a quick breakdown of each class and our recommendations:
- Samurai: Melee combatant; balanced stats with a simple play style. Beginner-friendly.
- Onmyoji: Caster class with ample AoE and very strong burst. Deadly but fragile.
- Cannoneer: Mobile ranged DPS with good sustained damage. Its high damage and ranged capabilities make it great for beginners who enjoy playing pure DPS roles.

Make Free Use of the Automation Features
It’s not uncommon for mobile MMORPGs to add some automation to their games so that players can just grind and progress through the story while skipping most of the manual grind. However, the automation in Tamashi is one of those rare systems that actually automates absolutely everything, including moving from quest to quest, completing objectives, advancing in dialogs with NPCs and tutorials, and much more. In fact, while we’re writing this article, our characters are grinding automatically, blazing through both the main campaign as well as the daily missions.
While in other games we recommend always keeping an eye on your characters, and even sometimes suggest skipping the automation since it might do more harm than good, we strongly advise leaning heavily on the auto-questing in Tamashi, since it’s just THAT useful. And if you’re playing on BlueStacks, you can easily set your character to auto-quest, minimize the emulator, and use your PC for anything else while your heroes grind in your stead.
Work on Your Dailies
To optimize your progress in this game, we recommend always completing your daily quests, which consist of 20 short missions that reward you with tons of useful resources on completion. Said tasks often revolve around killing a certain number of monsters and, just like with the main missions, you can easily automate them simply by clicking on their entry in the quest log on the upper left. Once set to automate, your character will work on completing all 20 missions without the need for any additional input.
Remember to Activate Your Artifact and Upgrade Your Character
This tip is a mainstay in most mobile MMORPGs, and is just a reminder that keeping your character upgraded at all times is the key to your success. Especially in games like Tamashi: Rise of Yokai, which offer tons of automation, it’s easy to lose track of our character’s power, until we come up to a challenge that’s impossible to complete in our current state. At that moment, you will need to spend some of the resources that you have earned from your farming and grinding, in order to upgrade the different aspects of your character.
Some of these upgrades in Tamashi include, but are not limited to, enhancing your gear, upgrading your skills, advancing your aides, cultivating your partner, and much more. And while it might take some time to get used to all the aspects that you can upgrade, you will always find a “strengthen” button conveniently located near your combat controls anytime there’s an upgrade available to you. Whenever you see this button, simply click on it and you’ll be presented with the upgrade options currently available.
As a side note here, Tamashi: Rise of Yokai has special items called Artifacts that you can activate in order to unlock special skills. Most of these Artifacts are unlocked via login bonuses, or through reaching certain VIP levels. However, before you can make use of their powerful skills, you need to go to the Artifact menu and activate them. Once you’ve done this, you’ll see their icon appear in your combat controls, allowing you to deploy Artifact skills in combat just like with any other of your class skills.
Pay Attention to Special Events That Pop Up
One of the few drawbacks of the auto-questing system in Tamashi: Rise of Yokai is that, if you’re constantly relying on it to AFK grind, you will probably miss out on a large variety of event prompts that often appear on the screen, and that will take you to special missions that grant extra rewards. Luckily, these prompts are very easy to spot if you’re playing manually, and all it takes is a single click to sign up to them.
While it’s quite tempting to just activate auto-questing and leave your character grinding automatically, we recommend actually swinging by every few minutes to see if any event is currently available. It’s these small contributions that will help you to get a leg up over the other players that simply use auto-grinding and go AFK for hours, and the same goes for completing the daily quests we mentioned before—every little bit helps.
Join a Clan to Gain Access to New Quests
And speaking of quests, while it’s perfectly possible to play solo through the entire game, it’s heavily recommended that you find a clan ASAP, as belonging to one of these groups will open up new quests for you to complete, therefore giving you access to more rewards. Luckily, if you’ve been using the auto-quest feature since the beginning, there’s a good chance that the game joined a clan automatically in your stead. If so, you can open the clan menu and, under the “Daily” tab, you will find a list of tasks that you can complete to earn additional resources both for your clan, as well as for yourself.
Striking a balance between manual play and auto-grinding is key to optimizing your progress in Tamashi: Rise of Yokai.
