The Gacha System of Wuthering Waves
Like many other live-service games, Wuthering Waves also features a thorough gacha system that aims to help players recruit new Resonators and Weapons. It offers a mixed banner, wherein players will be summoning for both Resonators and Weapons, at different probabilities. The gacha system is widely considered the only way to get the best of the bunch. However, it comes at a cost. The cost of your premium currency called “Astrite” or another summoning currency called “Tide”. The name of the gacha system is called “Convene” in official in-game terminology.
Each weapon and Resonator are assigned a base rarity, depending on which their stats are based out of. The higher the rarity, the better the stats. You can get 3-5 star weapons and 4-5 star Resonators from the different banners available. The gacha banners also have different rarities for different rarities of weapons and resonators. The higher the base rarity, the lower the probability of summoning the weapon/resonator. Similarly, the lower the base rarity, the higher the probability of summoning the weapon/resonator.
Interestingly, Wuthering Waves also has a soft pity mechanism in-built in all banners. Players are guaranteed to get a 4-Star weapon/resonator on the 10th summon, if the previous 9 did not yield any 4-Star weapon/resonator.
