Zenless Zone Zero Yanagi Guide – Builds, W-Drives, Team Compositions, and Skills Explained
Zenless Zone Zero is an action-packed ARPG that features an arcade themed setting wherein players can create their virtual avatars and disrupt the rise of Disorders to bring peace back to the world. Recruit powerful combatants known as “Resonators” that have been blessed with superior stats and unique abilities to take down disorders. In this guide, we will be thoroughly explaining all about the skill combinations and build recommendations for the Electro 5-star resonator Tsukihiro Yanagi. Let’s begin!
Tsukishiro Yanagi – All Abilities Explained
Yanagi is a 5-Star resonator from the Anomaly faction that possesses the Electro element. Her abilities are as follows:
Core Abilities
Lunar Eclipse (Core Passive) – When Yanagi activates her EX Special Attack, the DMG multiplier of Disorder is enhanced by 125 when any squad member applies the Disorder effect to an adversary for 15 seconds. When Yanagi’s EX Special Attack hits an enemy, her Electric DMG against the target increases by ten for 15 seconds.
Additional Ability Gessou – When another character in your squad is an anomaly character or has the same attribute. After changing stances, when Yanagi hits an adversary with Basic Attack: Tsukuyomi Kagura, Anomaly Buildup rises by 45% for 8 seconds.
Basic Attack
Yanagi has two battle stances – Jougen and Kagen, each of which provides a specific boost. Jougen stance enhances her Electric DMG, whilst Kagen stance boosts her PEN Ratio. Yanagi’s Basic Attack moves vary depending on whatever stance is used. Yanagi can switch between stances by using her Special Attack after the third, fourth, or fifth strike of her Basic Attack chain, which retains the previous stance’s boost for a few longer seconds and gives her the benefit of both for a brief period.
Special Attack: Intense Heat Aging Method
Perform a forward slash, dealing Electric DMG, and then exchange stances.
Using this ability increases your Anti-Interrupt level.
When engaged after the third, fourth, or fifth hit of a Basic Attack, it initiates Swift Ruten, which accelerates the slash and stance change.
Swift Ruten is active, so you can block opposing assaults.
After activating Swift Ruten, Yanagi can quickly follow up with the third hit of the current stance’s basic attack.
EX Special Attack: Gekka Ruten
Charge up power for a rapid forward push, followed by a downward assault that delivers devastating Electric DMG. During this time, Yanagi is invulnerable.
Yanagi swaps stances after executing the thrust and enters the Shinrabanshou state, which lasts 15 seconds. For the duration of this state, if you follow up with a subsequent Basic Attack from the 5th hit of a Basic Attack or other skills, the combo will start from the 3rd hit.
If the downward attack hits an enemy with an Anomaly, it activates a special Disorder effect called Polarity Disorder, which deals 15% of the original Disorder effect’s DMG to the target, plus an additional 3200% of Yanagi’s Anomaly Proficiency. Polarity Disorder will not eliminate the target’s anomaly.
Celestial Harmony (Chain Attack)
Switch stances and unleash a tremendous slash on foes in front, causing huge Electric damage.
Using this skill makes the character invulnerable.
After using this talent, you can immediately execute the third hit of the current stance’s Basic Attack.
Tsukihiro Yanagi – Best W-Engine Recommendations
Yanagi’s best W-Engine is Timeweave hands down. Though it has ATK% as its major stat, it improves the Electric Anomaly Buildup Rate and temporarily boosts the wearer’s Anomaly Proficiency after they use a Special Attack or EX Special Attack. Furthermore, when the wearer’s Anomaly Proficiency exceeds a particular threshold, their Disorder DMG increases even more. If you are still confused on what W-engines to equip on her, here are our following recommendations in order:
- Timeweaver (S-Rank)
- Fusion Compiler (S-Rank)
- Flamemaker Shaker (S-Rank)
- Electro-Lip Gloss (A-Rank)
- Roaring Ride (A-Rank)
- Weeping Gemini (A-Rank)
- Rainforest Gourmet (A-Rank)
Tsukihiro Yanagi – Best Drive Disc Recommendations
The best Drive Discs to use for Yanagi are as follows:
- Thunder Metal (4 pcs) / Chaos Jazz (2 Pcs) – Thunder Metal is the Yanagi’s best-in-slot item because it improves her Electric DMG and grants her an ATK benefit after shocking an adversary. You can utilize any 2-piece with Anomaly Proficiency to boost her Shock DMG.
- Chaos Jazz (4 pcs) / Freedom Blues (2 Pcs) – The four-piece Chaos Jazz can be utilized to boost Yanagi’s Electric DMG. It also grants a DMG boost to her EX Special and Assist Attacks for 5 seconds after she enters the field.
Tsukihiro Yanagi – Best Team Recommendations
The best characters to pair Yanagi with are as follows:
- Burnice – Burnice and Yanagi formed one of the greatest Anomaly duos in the game at the time Yanagi was released, resulting in a very powerful Disorder team composition. Yanagi, as the primary field Disorder Specialist, favors team members that can apply DoT-based anomalies rapidly and consistently while requiring as little field time as feasible. Burnice more than meets all of these requirements, giving Yanagi all of the field time she requires while consistently applying anomaly through her Afterburn and heavy burst application from her EX-Specials and Ultimates, resulting in frequent and massive Disorder triggers.
- Rina – Rina is a good choice for playing Yanagi in Electric-focused Shock teams because to her Electric/Shock specific buffs and great PEN Ratio benefit, which stacks well with Yanagi’s “Kagen” Stance PEN Ratio passive. Rina also occupies extremely little field time, allowing Yanagi to combo as she pleases without constraint. Yanagi’s Polarity Disorder alleviates one of the biggest pain points of pure Shock teams (damage being restricted by the number of Shock triggers you can achieve).
